In February this year, Adobe announced that it will no longer develop further versions of its Flash Player for mobile browsers, and said that the beta version of Chrome for Android will no longer be supported. However, the company added that its Flash Player will continue to run on the stock Android browser. Today, Adobe is announcing that there will be no certified implementations of Flash Player on Android 4.1 a.k.a. Jelly Bean. Adobe added that beginning August 15, it will stop new installations of Flash from Google Play. However, security updates and other vital patches will continue for its existing Flash users.
Adobe added that the easiest way to ensure ongoing access to Flash Player on Android 4.0 and previous versions of the platform is to use certified devices that have Flash Player installed on them by the manufacturer. Android users running uncertified Android 4.0 or earlier devices will have until August 15 to get the Flash Player. “If a device is upgraded from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1, the current version of Flash Player may exhibit unpredictable behavior, as it is not certified for use with Android 4.1. Future updates to Flash Player will not work. We recommend uninstalling Flash Player on devices which have been upgraded to Android 4.1,” Adobe added.

There's been a replacement for at least a couple years, just not as widely used as Flash. HTML5 is the future though (or so we're told).

Its our future, all right. Flash is a 20 year old technology, its time we moved on. HTML5 seriously needs to catch on, Flash is still widely used

[ROM][Sep 07, 201][ICS][Official] Downloading US version now

Edit: Kudos to Samsumg, It kept my root.

I think it's the same one that is available at sammobile. But it's cool to hear that it's now available as an OTA and that your root was kept
I was wondering if you noticed if there is a difference between the size & amount of space ics takes up after you updated from honeycomb to this ics? I was wondering if I'll have to make sine space for the update. I'm also wondering if you know if it'll reinstall any system apps (the apps that come preinstalled with the tablet) that have been uninstalled or if it'll just update to ics & leave everything else alone like it's supposed to. Sounds hopeful if it kept your root!

You mean re-installing bloatware apps during ICS upgrade? I think I saw a forum post saying that it was "recommended" to reinstall any removed bloatware app before attempting the ICS upgrade(maybe I did read wrong), I suggest to look at those post first just to be sure.
My OTA update failed... Must be due to root, titanium update, etc. Had to go the Kies route. Kies installer would not run on windows 7... Tried downloading multiple times with 3 different browsers... Same result...program too big to fit in memory!
Finally had to download kies installer to tab, changed extension to zip, emailed the zip to my laptop, changed zip back to exe, and wallah... Successful install ok kies!
Then used kies to upgrade to ICS. Talk about a round-a-bout method!
But ICS up and running. Going to try using Chrome browser.

Android 4.0.4 for LY-F1 (Allwinner A10 chinese low cost tablet)

We have a new version of Android for LY-F1 (and clones), still ICS, but is 4.0.4, with more stability and better performance than 4.0.3 (JB was compiled but is not public yet).
Android 4.0.4
DOWNLOAD: ROM F1中性-20120920.1.0.3-A721_V4.2.img
Compilation: 20120920-LY-F1.1.0.3
To flash this ROM you need to use LiveSuite
Is pre-rooted too but you need to reflash the same new ROM (flash twice) to mount RW system properly. Complete root with UnlockROOT 2.4.2.
Default language is english, but you can change it for any language (if you need).
Have a fully functional Play Store, GMail, Google Talk adn Adobe flash player pre-installed. You can install Maps, Youtube, and other Google applications.
Have File Manager pre-installed (I prefer ES File Explorer).

Nice update, thanks for your instructions and (working) link! Easy install via livesuit, works well on my natpc m009s. Quicker than original 4.03 with some nice improvements to interface..
I'm trying to install the rom using livesuit but it keeps saying no device needs upgrading...

This device (LY-F1) does not have bluetooth hardware. If you want it you must use a dongle bluetooth and a ROM that supports it (maybe CyanogenMod 9 or 10 for Allwinner A10 devices).
Last JB works great with LY-F1, but the Seby ROM (based on the last official JB version for this device) works better.
This device tries to boot from sd card by default! You can easily use linux on this device: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php...rrytopwise-a721-make-old-tablets-great-again/

Well, the pattern becomes obvious now.
N1: 2.1 -> 2.2 -> 2.3 (2 upgrades)
NS: 2.3 -> 4.0 -> 4.1 (2 upgrades)
GN: 4.0 -> 4.1 -> 4.2 -> ? (X upgrades)
N4: 4.2 -> (X upgrades)

lol, Jelly Bean 4.2 will be the last update for my Galaxy Nexus if this trend continues. But don't forget that, Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to get ISC 4.0 and Jelly Bean 4.1.
The devs will do that Job. Don worry u ll be able to get 4.2!

That's why I was hesitant on getting a Galaxy Nexus. But it seems with renewed popularity in the Nexus program, they might go further with updates.
Nexus One and Nexus S were pretty big failures. When they put the Galaxy Nexus on the Play Store earlier this year, I think a lot of people were attracted to its $350 price, and with the N4 popularity is crazy

Miui 10 for mi4 chinese

Hi My Xiaomi MI4 recently has been showing notification of UPDATE available TO version MIUI 10. Should I update it ?
I've heard it doesn't change nothing at all. and beside it once you update to it, you can't downgrade to previously version.

It may slow down the phone. But it will also give new looks and better features. Also, there is always an option to downgrade if you can use your laptop and spend some time to install any custom rom. (Will also void the guarantee)
It's a good choice to update to MIUI 10.

I've tried the lastest version of MIUI for cancro(MIUI10 8.9.13) for nearly one year. Before Febuary, 2019, I tried the PixelExperience(based on Android 8.1) and its new features & mini size touched me(I can use my face to unlock by Google Smart Lock. And 16GB isn't enough nowadays). But finally I missed the convenient settings and stability of MIUI, and Android 6.0 can still running most of the apps.
Of course, I have deleted some useless system apps(for me) like Mi Video\Mi Game\Mi Browser. In this case, I installed MX Player and Via(also Google Webview Core). To make the ROM better, I also changed the theme(bar, lockscreen), fonts(changed to MiLanPro by an app[because Magisk doesn't work on this ROM]), launcher(with a good icon package) and wallpaper. It doesn't slow down the phone. Just try it!

Update LG Wine Smart from Android 4 to 5 or 6?

Apologies for posting here but there is no forum for the LG Wine Smart (D486). Mine currently has stock 4.4.2 KitKat. Aw remember that? LG update app no longer functions correctly as it was shut down in 2020.
Is there any way to update this to 5 or preferably 6? There is an app I need that isn't compatible with Android 4.
You have to find
1. A Custom ROM suitable to phone ( specs: 1 GB RAM, 4 GB max storage )
2. If found, a Custom Recovery suitable to phone to flash the Custom ROM found
Many thanks. Sorry for the questions but if you were me, where would you look first?
Alternatively I wanted to make it clear that this phone officially shipped with Android 5.1 later in its life. I just happen to have an earlier 4.4.2 version. Where might I find the official 5.1 ROM and flash it?
Edit: I have found some options that I will try at http://lg-roms.com/lg-firmware/lg-h410/h41010d/2879
I'm not having any luck @jwoegerbauer . It turns out 4.4.2 was the latest official ROM for this phone.
Would you be able to assist a little? If you were me, where would you look first (as in URLs) to get a custom Android 6 ROM and recovery?
I'd like to update to Android 6 or higher. All the apps I want to install require Android 6+.
I'd just need to make sure it can recognise input from the LG Wine Smart D486 keypad.
