I just installed Cm9 onto my Samsung exhibit II 4g yesterday and of course my external sd card was mounted to /emmc like i have read that it will do. Well I downloaded the Remount sd app that was posted a few weeks ago. It works properly with the exception of the usb fix part of it. It does as it says and properly remounted /emmc to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd. The part that doesn't work right is the usb fix part of the program. I've tried every possible combination to get my TV dvd player to read the files off my phone like it used to and it just doesnt want to read the files off the phone. I have tried the usb fix option in the program for mtp, ptp, and ums and none of them worked. I disabled that fix option in that program and Just tried changing the usb connection option in the cm9 settings and the only option that works is is ums from the cm9 storage settings. With that option checked, the dvd will see the phone but it says there are no media files on the storage, when before on stock ROM it would work just fine andi could play movies on the dvd player. What is going on with this?

I haven't been able to get my external hard drive (Samsung S2 750GB NTFS formatted) to mount since upgrading to Team EOS Wifi ICS ROM. I normally use USB Mass Storage Watcher app to mount the drive but although this is recognizing that I have the drive connected and it allows me to click mount it doesn't mount the drive and the option doesn't seem to acknowledge that's its mounted by changing to unmount. TBH I'm not even sure if the drive is already mounted as its location could have been moved in ICS, like the micro SD cards was. I've also tried selecting the USB mount option in Storage settings but this doesn't seem to work either, though it does cause the drive light to flash off and on when its selected. Also I've noticed in USB Mass storage watcher the drive location is listed as dev/block/sda but I've tried checking here and mint/usbotg with root explorer but have had no luck. BTW I'm on build 45 ATM.
Any help appreciated.
Download stick mount for the Nexus and see if that works for you!

This works for me too, on my ICS rooted Xoom. None of the others I could find, including 'mass storage watcher' did.
I managed to sort the problem by using USB Mass Storage Watcher to create a new folder for my drive, after that I could access it fine. Weirdly the drive would not show up before that and I am 100% certain I was checking the correct location.
I'm new to Android custom roms and just flashed my G2x to Hellfire 2.1. Everything went pretty smoothly as I have relatively strong tech knowledge and followed all the guidelines carefully. The phone is now running a lot faster and everything looks great, with the exception of USB storage. After extensive searches I can't seem to find the solution to the problem.
The phone doesn't have an external SD card and I store everything on the internal SD. Under CM settings I have set the phone to use the internal SD. Latest LG G2x USB driver has been installed on Windows.
Now by default, USB debugging on the phone is ON. When I plug in the USB cable, the "Turn on USB storage" screen doesn't show up on phone and no SD drive is detected windows. When I turn USB debugging off, the "Turn on USB storage" screen comes up, and after clicking "On", Windows correctly detects the drive.
But after the phone reboots (USB debugging is now off since I set it off before reboot), the USB stops working again. This time the "Turn on USB storage" screen does show up on the phone, but after clicking it to turn on, Windows does not detect any drive. Basically nothing happens. However, the strange thing is if I go to turn the USB debugging back on, phone again prompts to turn on USB storage, and this time if I turn it on, Windows detects the drive. Then I turn off the debugging again, and it still works fine (screen comes up and Windows can detect).
So basically it works until the next reboot. No matter how the debugging option is set, the USB simply won't work right away. (If it's set to off, the problem described in the previous paragraph applies. If it's set to on, the phone simply won't show the "Turn on USB Storage" screen as stated initially in the post.
I have gone back and force and tweaked various settings all with the same result. I have also made sure to test this on different computers with fresh installed G2x drivers and they all exhibit the same problem.
Your help will be appreciated.
Assuming you flashed it correctly using nulifier to wipe and than flashed I would reboot to recovery go to advanced and fix permissions... Reboot turn debugging on and check use internal storage. The reboot again and than see if that fixes it for you.. I have 2.1 flashed and when I mount both sd's mount internal and external so it should be working for you if not you might have a corrupted download and would have to redownload and flash again

Do you mean you have both internal and external SD, and when you plugin the USB cable (I assume you have USB debugging on), both cards mount to the OS as two drives? Could you please do me a favor by taking out the external SD, and see if the internal SD would still mount correctly?
And btw are you mounting under Windows or Linux?
Thanks a lot.

DJLamontagneIII:
I finally got an external SD in. I reflashed, left USB debugging on. When I plugin the USB cable, the phone's "Turn On USB Storage" screen doesn't come up, but I noticed that in the pull down's notification/running it's there, below the "USB debugging turned on" ,so if I click that, the "Turn On USB" screen shows up, and after clicking to turn on, both drives mount on Windows.
Is this how your phone behaves too? If yours actually have the "Turn On USB Storage" screen pop up on front (just like the stock ROM does), what do you think is causing mine to behave in this way?
Thanks again.
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows whether external storage I.e. USB drives, sdcards etc are working out of the box with the jellybean rom from Team EOS? I haven't been able to use any external storage after upgrading to the Team EOS ICS rom? Just get a message saying folder doesn't exist would you like to created it and then it fails anyway. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Internal SD is at /storage/sdcard0
External SD is at /storage/sdcard1
USB is at /storage/usb0
Hmm sometimes it doesn't mount so you have to restart the device. You usually should be able to mount via setting tab but it crashes on me all the time. =/
I'm having a problem connecting my device to a computer as Mass Storage. It was working fine for a while until it got unintentionally unplugged while I was connected via ADB as root. The device will connect fine as a Media Device (MTP), but when Mass Storage is selected the drive letter comes up but is greyed out (how it looks when you have a corrupted usb drive). Prior to the problem you would get the internal sdcard partition. I'm also having a problem with Samba Fileshareing bombing out temporarily before enabling wifi sharing, but if I click "wait" on error screen Samba finally starts sharing. None of this behavior was present while the mass storage was connecting properly.
I have no external SD Card installed, I'm rooted, I've applied the 6MB OTA update and have all the latest moto drivers on my computer.
I tried fixing this problem by first doing a factory reset (no luck) then I fastbooted back to the stock image and reapplied everything. None of that fixed the issue.
I think the device is having a hard time unmounting the internal sd card partition? I'm not sure what's going on and I've searched to the end of Google. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
A friend of mine got this P3110 running stock 4.1.1; a week of usage, she can copy files from her pc to the tab (mass storage), after a week or so, she can't used it as a mass storage device nor we can have it change thru dropdown change USB options (only MTP and camera are present no Mass Storage option). Question is how this can happen? Anyone has any idea what's going on? USB debugging is off. Installed proper drivers (KIES). But now, always asked for MTP drivers and when windows tried to install mtp drivers, not successful.

This device only offers mtp and ptp mode. Msc is not supported. Just read the manual

Well, can't find any option in settings on my stripped down JB with Custom Kernel as of now. But I think these are possible connection types:
MTP (Media Transfer Protocol): for Windows Media Player
PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol): to act like a connected camera
MSC (Mass Storage Connection): to act like connected USB drive
As far I remember the GT-P31xx only supports 1 + 2 - not 3. 1 + 2 have the disadvantage that Android Libraries must be updated before files are visible. My experience with this is not good. The manual (for ICS in German) mentions also 3.) but I cannot recall ever noticing it.
If you want to have fast copy actions, then use an external card reader to write to the sd card and then insert the card. This wirks for sure and is the fastest way.
Also check if the device connects well to another PC - problem may not be the device after all, but the PC.
