me too... an AOSP rom would be nice... no themes... could add cyanogenmod theme engine if preferred...
So far this is just like Cryberts ROM or broodROM RC1.

yep, that's why we need a ROM with new things else every new rom will be the same
I will look into different things for this rom. Already began with an AOSP base, tho that will take some time since most of it aint really stable. Need to manually install all base apps and edit build.prop to let the market and most official apps work, but i will keep u updated and will post the (normal) rom when its finished.
Battery saving ROM would be nice.

Ill take a look into that. Not a lot of chance that it will work on i9001 since it isn't an official release and most likely far from stable.

Right. I tried simply pushing the apps to system/app/, unfortunately, but like expected, it didn't worked neither.

Nevertheless, nice to see a new rom appear - AOSP would definitely make a big difference. Was still thinking of building it myself, but have never built AOSP stuff yet, and no time to figure out how to setup the full build environment

I am trying to install custom Kitkat based ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3, the question is, which ROM is better and most stable, and eats less battery ?
I tried Cyanogenmod and Hypermax, CM is light but its corporate mail has an issue like, when i go to sent folder, it shows all "From" which is me, and hence it makes it difficult to search emails.
Hypermax is little heavy, and keeps on crashing very frequently.
Any suggestions on a stable and light ROM ?

I just flashed "Blekota S5 Lite ROM for Galaxy S3 (I9300)", this one is quite light on the RAM of S3, lets see how it performs in terms of stability.
The one you have suggested, i am just going through the posts and the features. It is looking very interesting, and feature rich. Lets see, may be i will flash this one next on my phone.

Hi Joeseph,
I finally installed Sensation ROM 7.0, but the issue is Camera does not work, so removed it.
Tried OmniROM? Very stable, and easy to update (OTA via the Rom, so convenient)

Camera doesn't work? never had this issue, did u select the S5 camera on AROMA? if yes that's why cuz it's unstable yet..
Anyways i switched to AOSParanoidAndroid 4.4.4 smooth, stable, supports OTA, theme engine and it's very lite on RAM witch means better overall PERFORMANCE includes gaming.
You should give it a try if u like Stock Android experience

I too like stock Android, but the issue i have a small issue on the email front:
I have to use corporate email on my phone, and when i configure that using ActiveSync , it does sync all my email. Only issue is in the sent items, i see only my name , which is "From" field.
I could not figure out an option for this, so had to get away with that ROM.
If you have figured out some solution of it, do let me know as well.

My opinion on the camera is negative. Stock camera is the best. And others are not that cool. Even the oneplus5 camera mod is nothing compared to stock camera. But oneplus5 camera is best for our custom ROMs right now ?

Exactly , for bokeh gimmick, and pro mode , stick with emui is good choice

I read and researched about gopinaidu007 ROMs, and I think OWNRom and CarbonRom are the ones that work best (Based on what I read). I see that you have tried them, which of the two do you recommend?

No major bug. but sometimes the only i encounter when i use to install apk it freezes but when i restarted it installed completely but as of my experience i recommend it for daily use.

I don't want to compare i appreciate every rom ?, because its in the taste of its of every user what are they prefer, but for me just want to explore the possibility and to latest mod and ROM., Try maybe you love it too, ? i have also posted MODs for extra flavor on it to feel more android experience for the new ROM. ?
