[Q] lg55c(ST Optimus Q) seemingly bricked - General Questions and Answers

If I am unable to enable USB debugging, am I pretty well S-O-L? I can get my phone to boot to android recovery utility, but because I did a factory reset, usb debugging is disabled. I cannot seem to get a custom recovery installed. My friend said that I should be able to download a custom recovery and install it from a zip from the recovery menu; is this possible? I am getting really frustrated because I cannot get my phone up and running again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Backstory:
I rooted my phone with no problems, started messing around with my build.prop to try to run a gameloft game. I made a back up of my original build.prop and stored it on my sd card. I replaced my entire build.prop with one from another phone and rebooted but my phone shows lg logo(at the suggestion of the same friend who has been trying to help), I hear the tracfone sound as if it is booting up, but my screen just remains backlit with no images. I am able to get into android recovery utility as well as the so-called emergency mode. However I cannot get the phone up and running again.

[q] thunderbolt extreme issues!!!

I used the easy rooting process from and once i was rooted i used ROM manager to download Liquid Gingersense 1.0 and saw there was no access to radio. So i went to download a new radio and was told to rename PG05IMG.ZIP. I went to put on SD card and saw that from the rooting process there was already a file with that name. I figured it was just the radio files needed for the rooting, so i replaced with the new .ZIP file. I then loaded the bootloader (down, and power) and tried to load the new .ZIP but to no avail it did not work. I don't remember exactly what i did from then to know but to problem........I truly believe my phone is bricked and I cant find anything that describes my problem.............
I cant power down while plugged in. It automatically loads the bootloader giving the four options bootloader, reboot(which still works properly, and loads up the phone without any problems), reboot bootloader, and power down. If I choose bootloader it automatically tries to read if i have anything on the card. Then i have the option of fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock, hboot usb, and image crc. If I choose recovery or factory reset it instantly changes to the white HTC screen and reloads the bootloader. Also to make matters worse, I had read that if you do the system update through the phone that it would erase the rooting done to your phone, I downloaded the newest update and tried to install. Now every time I turn the phone on it, on it's own, shuts down my phone to update the software but instead of updating the software it just opens the bootloader.
As of now I'm rooted with s=on
If my battery is low enough it wont try to upgrade with the new software.
I reformatted my SD card and that didn't work either.
I used Titanium Backup to load clockworkmod. When tried to use that, it would still load in the bootloader with the 3 androids on the bottom.
and the top of the bootloader there is white text with pink background that says *** Security Warning ***
So to sum up, I cant recover or factory reset(through my phone settings, or hard boot), I cant access clockworkmod to recover anything, and bootloader doesn't work.
I've only had this phone for a few days, so please help me fix it.
Thanks,
Bryce Morgan

[Q] HP Slate Pro 21 Issues

I purchased an HP Slate Pro 21 off of ebay that was freezing on boot, and it definitely is. My thought was if I could unlock it and load a different ROM, etc. that the problem may go away. Here is what I have done/figured out so far.
First power on, the device freezes at the first HP logo.
wiping the data (factory reset) allowed me to get into the O/S after several reboots
I was able to enable developer mode and USB debugging, at which point the device forces a reboot.
From this point, no matter what I do I cannot get the device to boot up all the way without freezing.
I can however, reload the factory image from HP's site (tried via SD card, and ADB just in case) and eventually through a multitude of reboots and freezes in different places (i.e. Boot Logo, Animated Boot Logo, Optimizing Apps) it will boot into the setup menus.
Problem is, at this point USB debugging has been factory reset to disabled. If I enable it, I'm back at square one and can't get the device to fully boot up.
There is a menu option to deploy image via ADB, and I can connect to it from my PC but it's (I believe, since I'm a noob) that it's a restricted mode for sideloading only.. Since I can see the device in the device list but it says (sideload) next it and the only adb command that I can run is to transfer an image. Problem is, I only have the HP image.
Are there any other steps to determine if this is a hardware problem? Further things I can do to try and get the device to boot? Other images I can try from ADB or SD Restore that will pass the signature check? (Since I can't load TWRP yet, because it's still locked).
Thanks for any help you can offer!

LG G2 seemingly impossible to unbrick

Hey XDA.
Before you asked, yes, I used the search tool.
I'm having trouble recovering my D800 LG G2 from being a brick. The situation is, I was running the Euphoria 5.1.1 rom, with TWRP and root status. I went to reset the phone through the settings, which began my list of problems. While it was rebooting, it kept flashing the TWRP splashscreen, and I had to turn it off and go into the recovery manually. *NOTE* at this point, the phone was not reset, it's almost as if I just turned it off and on. I went into TWRP, and wiped the phone. I think this is where I made the mistake. I did an advanced wipe and wiped everything but internal storage, instead of just doing a regular wipe, because I'm a dumbass. So now, My phone is stuck on the LG logo when I turn it on, followed by a black screen. The usual unbrick methods aren't working because my download mode is not working. When I try to go into download mode, the main window on the phone pops up, but a window on the top left saying "security boot error". My computer will recognize it, but nothing will show up in the port, and I'll only see the qhusb_bulk in the other devices.
I have no idea what to do, and I would really love some help and suggestions.

Can you get into download mode? if so just reflash stock.
sorry, i can't put a link here because i don't have 10 posts, but if you tipe in youtube search ''How to Unbrick or Restore the LG G2 ATT Version'' you will get a rootjunky video which helped me to unbrick my phone and back to stock rom. There you will also find some usefull links.
If you can get into download mode this will save you each time. I have had to flash mine a few times while soft bricking it. Its mega fun when you hard brick it. Good luck.

Can't boot into recovery - Galaxy S7 G930

Hello all.
I'm new to modifying my android (Galaxy S7 G930A) and could use some help. I have successfully rooted my phone, but have had some issues trying to flash a custom recovery. I was trying to flash TWRP but for some reason it didn't work, and I would always boot into the stock recovery.
Today, I screwed something up while trying to figure out my host of issues (I was also trying to figure out why I kept getting a "dm-verity verification failed" notice when flashing). Using the TWRP Manager app, I tried to install the recovery that way and it kept giving me an error that it was either already installed or encountered an issue of some kind. Knowing it wasn't installed, I looked for a different route. Long story short, I downloaded Flashify and then manually downloaded and flashed the TWRP recovery img and a "no-verity-opt-encrypt" file - which I read would fix the dm-verity error I was receiving.
I believe that's all I did before this recovery boot issue starting occurring.
Now, when attempting to boot into recovery (no matter what way, through an app, manually, etc) the blue text "Recovery Booting..." appears for half a second and then disappears. If I'm holding down the buttons it will flash again and disappear again, over and over. If I don't hold down the buttons, when it disappears the phone boots up as normal. So now I can't seem to access recovery at all. I wanted to try going the hard/factory reset route, but obviously can't because I can't access recovery.
Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but now my laptop will not recognize my phone at all. Doesn't give me any options - it will charge, but no connection. I was hoping to load it into Odin and do a stock reset to start from scratch before flashing a custom ROM.
Edit: I tested and connected to a different computer just fine, so there's obviously some miscommunication going on between my phone and laptop.
Can anyone help me out here? Sorry for the long post, I'm just really frustrated. :crying:

Need help with a hard bricked phone

Hi people. Today I needed to install a file inside system/etc/permissions to enable OTG Host. Since I couldn't create a file there, I had the stupid idea of changing the permissions of the system folder. I changed it with root browser, to Owner: read/write/execute (the other stuff was unchecked). My phone turned off instantly, and now it wont turn on at all. Seems like I'm in big trouble. Still, I want to ask if something like that is recoverable somehow, and if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Phone: Samsuing A5
OS: Android 6.0.1
Root: Yes (systemless, with Odin)
Custom Recovery: No
Edit: I just connected the phone to my PC, and it detected a USB device called SAMSUNG_Android. It's weird, the phone seems to be off. Kinda gives me a bit of hope, but I'm a noob with these things.
Edit2: I waited a few minutes and tried to turn it on again. It worked! But now it boots to recovery, so it seems to be a soft brick. Factory Reset doesn't seem to do anything, I guess I'll have to flash a ROM. But I have no idea how to do that. Any help?
Edit3: With the help of a friend, I installed TWRP custom recovery, and used it to flash a Resurrection Remix ROM and GApps. However, I cannot make it reboot into system. It always goes to recovery. When booting, it shows the message "Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing", and then opens TWRP recovery. I can see my device has a system folder with stuff in it, but I can't make it boot properly. Any suggestions?
