[Guide] Proper forum manners

Good Day fellow XDA-ian
This would be a guide on how to behave properly on the forum
1. I have a Question!! What to do???
-If you think of a question or need help use the search button first if nothing comes out search google and still if nothing comes out then you can post in Q&A section
-Don't Post vague titles like HELP!, EMERGENCY! or the likes because for one it does not attract people to look at your post instead irritates the viewers. it would be better to be clear in naming your thread example [Q][NAME OF PROBLEM][WHAT ROM]
- Demanding for answers won't do you any good since XDA don't owe you anything

2. My question is already answered! What to Do???
-First Add [SOLVED] in the title

5. User titles
If you've spent some time on XDA, you'll have noticed there are some titles given to members. Here's how they are given:
- Junior Member - New members with less than 30 (?) posts.
- Member - Members with more than 30 (?) but less than 100 posts.
- Senior Member - Members with 100+ posts.
- Recognized Contributor - A title given to members who have helped people with various problems. You can apply for this position or ask a Forum Moderator, Senior Moderator, Recognized Contributor to nominate you. They don't give it away for free though; you have to meet some requirements.
- Recognized Themer - A member who's known for original themes. You can apply to the Senior Moderators yourself, or ask a Recognized Contributor to nominate you.
- Recognized Developer - A title given to a member for his/her work in his/her device-specific development. You can apply to the Senior Moderators yourself. I don't think anyone can nominate you here. The developer committee assesses your overall activity and decides whether you're eligible for this position.
- Elite Recognized Developer - This title is given to Recognized Developers who have provided outstanding work, way beyond the knowledge of us mere mortals. A Recognized Developer is re-assessed by the developer committee before being given that title.
- Forum Moderator - This title is given to Recognized Contributors who are responsible enough to handle a forum on their own with some other such members of course. They have to fill out an application (which is no longer available now) and then the moderator committee approves of them.
- Senior Moderator - Senior Moderators are in charge of the whole site-wide support for Forum Moderators and nitty-gritty business that Forum Moderators cannot look after.
- Administrators - Next comes the admins who are responsible for everything as a whole. Each look after a specific part of XDA.
- MikeChannon's the dude behind all this. He's the Forum Administrator.
Other titles you may come across are
- Moderator Committee - sits on the Mod Committee
- Developer Committee - as above, but for Developer Committee
- XDA Newswriter - publishes articles for the Portal (front page)
- Retired xxxx - have since officially 'left' their XDA position

Good Job!
I'm glad someone brought this up! THANKS! Really helped a lot.
thnx for such a helpful post
Very useful post.. But buddy most of these rules doesn't actually help people convey. There true aspects towards Rom... Single. Button is not a solution I suppose...

Stop the fighting! @abhijaincha: No non-english posts are allowed here without proper and immediate translation. It is a violation of forum rules. Additionally you should check your choice of words when posting. Some of the posts I deleted were borderline abusive.
Thanks for your understanding.

Maybe I'm blind, but I'm not seeing that ROM anywhere on here. However, a simple Google search could have gotten you an answer much quicker and would have avoided your post being moved.
Now, to get to any extended desktop mode (if enabled in your ROM), long press power and select extended desktop.

[Completed] [Q] how to quit participated threads?

Hi, i wonder how to quit participated threads. I am using xda premium 4 app for catching forums, and i am usually use participated tab. But there is some unnecessary thread like just wanted to ask is it for my devices. So i am all time seeing this unwanted threads. How can i unfollow them?
You may think its related too app, but it uses pc sites rules. I can see my participated thread on pc site too.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
You can't. That's just how the site works. But the subscription section is made to track only what you want. Anytime you respond to thread, it's added to the subscription section, but unlike the participated section, you can un-subscribe to anything you don't want to follow.
Hope that clears it up. ?

There is some buttons in participated threads in pc site, like silence buttons. What's their purposes? Is there for silence thread but don't work, or there is just not option?
I recommend you ask about it here, cause I know no way to quit participated threads.

Cannot edit post on specific thread

Dear XDA Assist Team.
I am writing this post on behalf of user Patrick.H, since his english is not good:
He cannot edit only fkrst post of the thread he started (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...eam-darklord-s7e-reborn-t3565866/post71248782) since yesterday. When he edits post and clicks to save button, a message pops out saying:
"502 Bad Gateway
Something happened and this page is not currently available.
You can reload this page in a moment to try again."
The weird part is he can edit all the posts on other thread he started (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-magma-nx-rom-t3508672).
Is it a temporary issue or should he do something about it? Since those are first posts of thread they should be updated for users.
Thanks in advance
Ups sorry. I think it doesnt belong here but to q&a

Child safety on android mobile device

Dear all,
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to disable turning off mobile data?
I have a kid who has android phone with Google Family link. It is free app and it do all that I need to monitor my kids device.
But..
There is only one thing. Sometimes my son accidentaly (or on purpose) switch off mobile data.
So, i'm wondering is there any way to lock that option to be allways ON.
Family link give me option to disable turning OFF gps but that is worthless without internet connection.
Thnx in advance.
EDIT:
I see now that i should post this to Q&A
I don't know how to delete it from here.
Sorry
