Nope that won't work. Look in dev section in xplodwild's cmw+root thread. Make sure to follow directions

Flash it in recovery by downoading the zip file
Hit the thanks button if i helped

i was in the same situation mate i was using twrp to flash a rom and it gave me nothing but trouble so the way i swiched to cmw was real easy, just download the cmw rom manager and run it and click install cmw recovery job done mate
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2

No. Do not use ROM Manager to flash CWM. It will flash the recovery for the Transformer Prime. If you use it to flash anything, you could brick your tablet.

ok thanks for the warning mate ill go get it the proper way

this is what i just did and apart from my files that i got from sdk being in a different place mine were in c:\users\rob\appdata\local\android\android-sdk it worked perfect

I've wrote up a step by step guide to pushing a new recovery.img to ur Blaze 4g if anyone's interested its here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34581695

cwm 6.0.1.5 touch?
First off.. thanks for creating this, so cool since official aint even out.. I'm a little bit confused, did you need the 6.0.1.4 touch file? In case, I have it in an .img and .tar.. it works perfect and easy install through Odin.. but I wasn't sure if you were asking for it, to use and help you make a cwm 6.01.5 touch version... is it possible though? Since it does exist for other phones and you already made a non-touch, could you please make a touch!? I like 6.0.1.5 but I'm always flashing and in cwm.. and I tried 6.0.1.5 the day it came out... but hours later I ran back to 6.0.1.4 touch..

[Q] how to get a backup of stock rom

i would like to try some other rom but first i would like to know how to get a backup of the stock rom first, can you please help me!
After rooting, make a nandroid backup using CWM...
Actually, do it before rooting. Right after flashing cwm, when you first boot in cwm do the backup before flashing the superuser zip.

Used toolkits, both found here, for both of my devices: RAZR XT910 and Nexus 7. Worked flawlessly the first time.
I've rooted my Desire with the unrevoked/revolutionary guide here on xda forums, quite a while back ago. Used CWM recovery afterwards. Flawless process.
The One V was also rooted with the guide here on xda, the easy one with htcdev. Not the hard root. My friend didn't want the hard root so I followed his orders, since it was his phone. Also flawless.

I flashed pre-rooted kernel

I used exynos abuse app on my note 2 and then installed twrp.

Hello there, noob here, just made the switch from iphone to Note 2 and I'm loving it. I was very familiar with the jailbreaking process of the iphone and now I'm trying to learn how to do the same with my Note2.
I see there are a lot of variants depending on the carrier so I did some research and finally found what I needed to root note 2 SGH-i317 (ATT), used Odin and CWM and everything went very smooth, now I have a rooted note2 confirmed with the root_checker app.
On problem though, when I try to get into TRWP recovery mode so I can install roms/kernells if I do the Volume_up + Home+ power, I only get a black screen. Can't get into it and don't know what to do. My phone works fine though.
Any suggestions?
Should I re-root? Is it possible?
thanks in advance

4822 should be a 5158N. If you are rooted, download a terminal app and flash the firmware. the 7038 firmware should be for the 5158n as well.

It only takes 5 seconds to remove the back cover and read the model off the dig ribbons. I'm not sure what the hang-up is. Wouldn't that be simpler? Flashing stock firmware doesn't necessarily restore TS firmware.

Dont stress yourself. Its easily fixed. Ill look around for 4822 and report back shortly.
Edit:
Ok im downloading a few roms. Hopefully its in one of those. In the mean time, check in /system/etc/firmware/touch and see if you have a 4822 in there. Also, flashing back to stock will not flash the system firmware for the digitizer daughter board. Go ahead and re-root while im downloading things as well.

Ok, looks like there are several other firmware in that folder. Your best bet is to flash them all one by one from your firmware folder until one works after rebooting.
Since there are 3 versions of digitizer, and there are 3 firmwares in the folder, logically one has to work lol
If you cant find them, ill upload them for you. Let me know.

I´d love to have them since I need to reflash my fw for the TS.
Changed my broken digitizer (5158N ) out for a new one (5158N ) but i need to flash the TSfirmware since my left side of the tablet only work sometimes.
Is it possible to flash this fw without root?
Regards chbg

Ive only flashed from terminal, which required root. You also should be able to run it through adb. All of your stock firmware SHOULD be in /system/etc/firmware/touch and have the extention of .ekt
Change the location to directory of the firmware folder and run the firmware update command directly from there.
For all commands, dont include the quotes. Just type whats between the quotes.
Open terminal and type " su" and hit enter. Superuser should pop up asking to allow permissions if you have never run this command before. If you have, you wont see anything, but you will see " root " on the next line.
Next " cd /system/etc/firmware/touch " and hit enter
Then type " ls " and hit enter. You will see all the firmware available to flash
Finally update your firmware with the update command " touch_fw_update -u /system/etc/firmware/touch/whateverfirmware.ekt " and hit enter. Obviously you change out the whateverfirmware.ekt for the actual name of the file you want to flash.

Not rooted, didn´t think you culd root when you were on 4.2.1?
But hey, I´ll give it a shot :cyclops:
it ain't working :'( i can flash the first one but it is still the 7053 one and when i try to flash the other 2 it says this IAP tools is design for elan 1 chip sloution: error can't open source file
EDIT: after some tweaking at root is was able to flash the other two let's see what happens!
EDIT2: nvm when i try to flash it says ERROR: GetAckData fail! and at the bottom ERROR:execnum:0 th OLD IAP mode!!!!!! and the firmware doesn't update :'(
BTW i hate that there is no recovery that doesn't need to use the touch screen because i can't flash the firmware via recovery now because of that :\ i currently reinstalled the stock recovery is there a way i can use the "update.zip" method on this tab?

Thank you for this file, but is it possible for me to get it onto my TF300 without rooting it or anything else?
Remember I can´t get into settings to turn on "developer mode", "USB-debugging" or any of the other stuff that´s needed to get my tablet rooted.
Can I just place the fw-file on a memorycard and insert it and see if it wants to upgrade? Or is that a no go?
Waiting on a USB-OTG cable so I´m able to connect a mouse to get into settings but I won´t get it for a couple of weeks probably.
You are a bit too late mate I send my tablet back to Asus for repair!

There are many options. Use this one and flash in odin. I assume you know what that is since you're rooted. You could also use twrp recovery but I think cwm is easier to use for someone newer to custom recovery

Not a big deal. The point is its the easiest one to get started. Once installed CWM will ask to update to a newer version that will support it. Install with odin.

Pretty close to the same thing but Philz touch is gonna have more advanced options included that most dont use. Also going to have touch also which means instead of using the volume keys to navigate and power button to slect it is simply touch based.
