3G stalls on my nexus s whenever i am downloading any file, indefinite of time period as in u cant downloading anything when the 3G drop occurs but there is no change in bars or the symbol(H remains the same),only restarting the phone or disabling/enabling data connection helps resuming connection
initially this used to happen while USB tethering(while using CM9 ROM) but now after changing 3 ROM's(currently on CyberGR-MOD) the problem is occurring on using data on mobile itself(not able to download a single 20 mb file without halts)
i even updated my Radio baseband but didnt help either.
i am not able to find what's wrong with my phone,any help would be appreciated
I have same problem but not as bad. If o have h its all good but it drops to 3g, I have no data

I keep getting data drops where it will drop mobile data completely and wont keep a connection with wifi. It still says its connected with wifi but it wont transfer any data, with mobile data it wont even show a data connection on the status bar.
I hear this is a common bug that a lot of people have, I get a good connection on stock 2.3.3 so I am currently stuck. I was running 1.9.9 MIUI and have this issue on anything else I try.
I loaded a stock build.prop w/ MIUI and it killed my cell network connection, no connection at all and it froze on reading SIM, but my wifi connection would not drop, and was flawless. Is it possible it is a setting in the build.prop that is being added or overlooked in roms?

I recently purchased a G2x and installed the latest stable CM7 right off the bat, and started experiencing random drops to the EDGE network. This and a dead zone in the center of my house led me to believe my phone had a reception issue.
I have flashed back to the stock rom and my dead zone is gone, completely, and the data drops stopped.
Google searching hasn't led me to any answers and my next stop will be the CM forums.
I am running the Zero rom and it is working great. I am having one issue but not sure if it is ICS related ot not. I am currently in Afghanistan and have edge data service. When I first started using it on GB all I had to do was create a new Access Point and only had to enter "internet" into the APN, no authentication, no proxy etc. So I instaleld ICS then when to their website (etisalat) for the APN setting. They show using a proxy but still no authentication. When I use those settings it shows that I am connected to edge but I get no data down and eventually get an error about not connetcing to the proxy. Anyway, I couldn't get it to work so I used the original APN setting but had to enable "Pap or Chap" authentication. Now it works.
But, the problem I am having is that it takes forwver to get data to connect. I mean when I leave my wifi connection, or go from a place with no cell signal to a place with signal, it takes a long time (5-30 min) for the phone to establish a data connection. I try to open my broswer or other internet programs but they just fail to connect saying no network avaiable. I try turning data on and off etc but it doesn't force it to connect. Eventually I will see the edge data connection icon showing in the top bar and it works again.
Anyone have any idea why it is slow to connect to the data? I never had this problem in GB.

Try flashing the radio from this thread, its UCLA3, the best radio in many peoples opinion for speed and connectivity. It is gb based, but that shouldn't be an issue. I was using it with ics for a long time

I have a problem where at random times i cannot use any data services, this includes both Wi-fi or Data from my provider. I have to physically turn off the phone and reboot it for it to work, even then im lucky if it stays working.
Anyone else had this problem?

My Titan does this too. Very annoying! Most of the time it occurs with the data connection but occasionally the WiFi doesn't work as well. It can show 4 or 5 bars of 4G connection and it is unable to connect. I work in a basement where I get no data connection. When I leave work I have 3+ bars and it is unable to connect to data. It also sometimes happens when I leave home, where I have WiFi. It won't transition to a data connection. HTC fix this!

Hi guys.
Just trying to share my observation and explore if we can do anything.
I am using D6683 (I think it is support to be a HK based handset). Using Lollipop, it has been working perfectly but 16GB not enough hence MM function that allow SD card and Internal memory merge is appreciated.
Since Sony decide to ditch us using D6683, the only option is using D6633.
1. Try using MM .575, it has huge connection problem. The phone will just stay in GPRS mode even connected to a LTE network. Driving from one point to another point, will just cause it to data connection to hang. Putting it in airplane mode and anything else won't work. Only reboot works
2. Restore stock and upgrade to .291, first day testing seem to be ok. Got LTE connection. It did try to swing a bit but it has been maintaining well. This i started driving with Waze. Connection start to go haywire, but it will be still try to reconnect. Data are "maintained" to certain extend. Let the phone along for about 2 days, the next thing I realize, only GPRS left. The signal logo got no more H, H+ or LTE. Check the phone service menu and all info confirm the LTE is available. Again a reboot fix the problem.
3. Change the setting to only WCDMA + GPRS. The phone was "perfect". No data hang issue and etc
Need all the sifu help. Assuming if the phone is rooted, how is the phone determine the connection method? I presume that the phone will initialize the modem to dial the connection. Can anyone share anything that we can probably trigger a redial and probably eventually inject into the phone data connection sequence. Again using Lollipop, there is no issue.
Appreciate any comments/advice.

i'm writing here because i am experiencing a weird wifi problem.
Basically, at random moments while using the phone, wifi stops working.
The wifi icon still shows that i'm connected, but i cannot send nor receive any data.
To restore wifi functionality i must wait some time (20 to 30 seconds) or turn off and on the wifi.
I don't think it's an AP / Router issue cause it's the only device in my house that shows this problem.
I tried searching online but i couldn't find anything similar to my case.
Has this happened to anyone? There is someone who can help me solve this problem?

Try wipe saved WiFi. If still not work, try factory reset
