formating external SD in ext4 ?

Hi !
I just installed the Lag Fix in my Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000B and looks like it is fine.
As far I understand, the lag fix patch formats the internal SD as ext4 to have more stability and speedy.
So I am wondering if the external SD card would have similar benefits if I format it as ext4 too.
I don't have a spare external SD to check it my myself, so if anyone could provide any information, would be nice.

Hi
I have an external sd card and i want to have a second partition in ext4, to put somme date on it (larges files)
i read and test since 15 days and what i can said is
you need to have a first partition (primary in fat32 on the sd card)
the second partition in ext4 is not seen by android os !!! I mean, there is no way to mount automaically these partition at boot and use it.
I have found a old lagfix from mimocan which mount external ext4 , but it is to store applications as we do in sdcard. I do believe we can use for data but it is old now we have kernel and rom with ext4 in native mode and i don't find how use ext4 on external card for data instead of program (with link2sd for exemple)
link2sd or app2sd only works with internal sd card !

[Q] NTFS or Ext4

Hi
After a long search it look like we can't have on external Sd card, NTFS or Ext4 files system.
The reason given for ext4 is " this file system is only for linux users" .. humm well and so 5 or 10% of users should ignore ?
but for NTFS i don't understand why we can't have choice to format external sd card with it ?

[Q] Can Clockworkmod read ext4 formatted sd cards?

I canĀ“t remember correctly, but I think few days ago I was not able to read a CM ROM from my external SD card that was formatted with ext4.
So, does Clockworkmod support ext4 or does it not? I badly want ext4 to avoid the 4GB file size limit of fat32.
Thank you.
EDIT: Now I know. I have CWM version 6.x from CM 10.2 nightly and CWM cannot read ext4 formated volumes. Though I read CWM was meant to support ext4!? Obviously it does not.
EDIT2: Today I was able to mount a USB drive connected to the phone that was formatted with ext4. I do not know, why I am able to mount this ext4 device now and why I was not able to mount my ext4 formatted sdcard.

Can Our Pico bypass 4GB size limit?

I know fat32 sucks arse -_-
well i'm on Jaggy Rom so my question is that if I format my main SDCard partition to ext4 or ex-fat will it still mount it so that I can download torrents etc...?
Is there any kernal that supports it or any ROM ??
