I've already tried unlocking my device with the Asus release and no dice. I also tried wiping a few times and it didn't work. I'm able to register my serial number through Asus but can't unlock. Am I better to return this (for the fourth time) or wait for Asus to do something?

Did you downgrade back to .17? That worked for me. Otherwise... I'm not sure, I know people in other threads had the same problem but I never checked to see if it was solved. The FW downgrade is the best advice I have.
I would also like to know about this... I got Device Tracker to register to find me... but still getting "Network error" when trying to Unlock. Sadphace
I tried the whole downgrade thing and wiped twice then cold booted. I'm tired of wiping haha. I'm returning it today.

I'm also getting the network error and I haven't received the first ota so I'm on .17. I wonder if Asus will address this...?

you may want to take a look at the hydrophonic rom by seanz
on the TF300T, he's enabled the phone, but yeah, there's no modem/ sim card there to use
he's also working on a version for the TF300TG

Ok so I used the umts manager app and it worked, im using it right now to reply, but ive noticed that I cant do much with it, I cant download from playstore or from other places, saying that I have no network, is there some way to make it seem as if there is a network or something?

That is the same problem with LAN adapter ...you can only usethe browser. Play store needs wifi connection ..else it won't download anything as it deems the other ways as not a compatible connection

I just installed PPP Widget on my TF300T running stock JB. It's a little unstable but works with my Huawei 1752 modem.
You have to be rooted to use it.
Also it isn't listed as an app, only as a widget. At first I thought it didn't install properly because I couldn't find it in the apps list.

I've learned from the TF101 ICS update - be careful what you wish for!!! For those that don't know, my (and others) TF101 has basically become very un-reliable since they introduced ICS.
While I truly *hope* we don't have such issues with the Jelly Bean upgrade, I certainly don't have a lot of confidence in Asus at this point.
I just hope that they don't rush it and test it properly before releasing it and forcing the upgrade on us (which is exactly what they did with the ICS update on the TF101).
I do know that my TF700 has some of the same ICS issues that the TF101 had (OpenGL out of memory errors, for example, which causes your launcher to go "blank")....

*Side load your FLASH PLAYER. If you want flash. It will no longer show up in the Playstore any longer
*Revert back whatever modding/altering to system files just in case Rooters. Only if you want your OTAS to actually complete. Or if running a custom rom it wouldn't work anyways as you already know.
*Don't forget to backup your Root with Voodoo Ota Rootkeeper! You will definitely lose root if you don't

As I'd normally recommend rooting myself, I don't think it's necessary in this case. Why not just install .apk with Flash after allowing unknown sources? I believe it should suffice, although I don't know if it's any different with the JB system of permissions.
No need to root to install Flash on Jelly Bean. At least not on the Nexus 7.

I can confirm - my father just bought a Nexus 7 - I emailed the Flash app to him and he was able to install it and it worked without any rooting or anything.
He used Boat Browser (per my recommendation) - not sure about other browsers, but I assume it work with all expect for Chrome, of course...

Everyone remember to backup the files created by titanium backup themselves to a removable SD card or your PC.
As for JB, I am not sure we can expect it for the TF700 right away ... the TF300 is so similar to the nexus 7, I'm sure they only slightly modified their nexus 7 kernel.
Is it just me or does anyone else thinks it's wrong that Asus updated their cheap tablet before their flagship?

Hey ppl,
I got the update but after finished downloading an error appeared: Update failed, restoring conf to last version blah blah.
I rebooted the device but it says there's no longer an update available for my device.
My Tf300t is Rooted, i only disabled some system apps and removed the original Browser, could that be the problem?

if you removed any system apps it won't update. Also if you are using a modded build.prop it won't update. You need to restore the browser

I don't think you can, unless you made a backup of the stock browser using Titanium Backup or something.
That's why you should never fully delete system apps, always make a backup of them or freeze them.
On the topic of root access.. updated my TF300T to Jelly Bean... tried restoring root using Voodoo OTA Root Keeper. It says restored but I don't appear to have root access when using Lucky Patcher or any other app. Any ideas?
I have the original build prop, on the ww version, but am traveling in the US, and am not getting the ota. . Anyone have a suggestion on if/how I could make this work?

I am in the same boat as you are...thankfully I froze my apps so I have them still...but after unfreezing them I still don't get the OTA.... I heard once you download it once Asus won't push it to your device again...so manual update is the only way

You need that someone still on ics pulls the browser apk from /system/app the you will have to push it to the same directory and reboot. That should reinstall it. NOTE factory reset wont restore deleted apps.

Since only US Firmware are getting updated you won't get the update even though you are in the US.

While it is true that they log your attempts at installing updates (you can enter your MAC into their system, I don't remember where, and it shows all of your updates - I've done it) they don't truly block future attempts after a failure. All you have to do is open up settings, apps, all, and clear the data on the DMClient app (I believe, I'm trying to confirm that's what it was). Tried it after a failed .30 update and it let me download it again.

this update better be coming to WW devices. if not: sending this back for HW repairs and selling it pronto.

Replace the modified build.prop with your back-up of the original file or it definitely won't update.
Just updated... TF300T USA, but i'm italian and livin' in italy...
Tab was rooted and also with VoodooOTAkeeper installed.
Used temp unroot, searches for updates, done update, and restored root....
Works like a charm

Me too, failed with the red triangle and now it wont push the update anymore....Tried clearing data but that didn't work either. I'm stock, rooted with a locked bootloader.
Also cleared cache from DMClient but still can't get the update.
Anyone with a full list & APKs from ICS stock?
Otherwise, how and when a manual installation will be available?

I'm not rooted and the install failed. Wtf happened?
A buddy of mine came over to help me set up my new Infinity and he deleted the CMClient,apk, CMClient.odex, DMClient.apk, and the DMClient.odex WITHOUT backing them up first (for which he was hit.) Now I can't unlock the bootloader. Anyone have a backup of these 4 files they can send me? Thanks!
What ROM & version are you running? I have access to the stock .26 .apks handy if they would help...

Hmm, not sure then... Someone did use that exact archive successfully before (to unlock though - see above) - and that was even with .30 (the .apks are from .26)...
Did you put them into /system/app? Maybe try rebooting after putting them there?

The error says it is missing its sha1 sum, so how do I get those back?
I ended up flashing the full .30 full the Asus website which lost my root, rerooted uring Debugfs and now flashing the OTA for JB
I should mention that I did change the permissions on the files AFTER I put them back into system/app/ so that may have something to do with your issues.
I've got quite the same problem as OP... could someone (please, pretty please) pm me a link to get those files?

Become root and mount the /system partition writable. Most root-enabled file managers have an option for that (I use Ghost Commander), or you do it on the command line.
as root:
mount -o rw,remount /system
should do the trick
but deleting may be a bad idea (no OTA), it's better to do
mv CMClient.apk CMClient.apk.bak
etc.
and then move back to original filenames before updating
