I rooted my phone by following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559685 guide, but I decided that I don't need to root my phone, so I flashed .58 firmware once again, updated it to .62 and now I want to update my firmware to ICS, because it was on my phone before I rooted it and when I connect my phone to PC, PC Companyon says that my phone is up to date. How to fix this?
Look if you have installed a branded firmware

If i update my phone to the new HTC software version 4.54.651.1, will it mess up anything on my rooted phone? Rooted only apps or functionality or anything??
Assuming you don't have any custom rom installed, I think all it will do is unroot you and you'll just have to re-root your phone again. I could be wrong though.
Sorry but I can't find out what to do.
I want to remove about 10-15 apps from my xperia ray like tetris demo, trial wise pilot, or even more uselessapps like facebook, trackid, or sync(as sync is not working anyway).
So in fact, all I want is to remove all the irrelevant apps from the system.
Problem is:
I get confused searching the site. (ST18i/ .368 or .62/2.3.3 or 2.3.4; I couldn't figure out what to do. Bootloader unlock via official site was no problem; but then what?)
So I do not want a complete empty system, I just want to remove some apps which should not be locked in the . Do I need a full root, or is there a simple way?
Can anyone help me?
Hi, I'm not a dev and I'm new to android too, so maybe someone have to confirm what I say.
You don't have to unlock your bootloader to remove bloatware, just root it.
I think that there's no way to root .62 firmware (at least for now). You have to downgrade to .42 (using Wotan Server, for exemple) and root your mobile with Zergrush method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350), when root is done you can upgrade to .62 firmware OTA that will keep your phone rooted.
That's what I did when I reinstalled .62 FW in my X Ray with SEUS after a bootloop problem.
Inform steps

Download and read about Flashtool here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351324
(I said wotan server in my old post but I was new to android at that time, flashtool is THE tool)
Read this for using flashtool and rooting guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842366
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 originally on EE and I had it unlocked to 3. I am unable to do an update as via WiFi and I am presented with the following message, "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorised way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your PC or visit a customer service centre".
I have been told that the unlocking of the phone has resulted in me not being able to use smart switch and that the phone is no longer connected to the Samsung servers.
The build number is LRX22G.G920FXXU1AOCY
I am using Android 5.0.2. at the moment.
If you're rooted you get that message.
Best thing to do is download your current rom again, flash it with odin and that'll restore everything to stock and allow the over the air update to be downloaded. (It doesn't wipe your phone)
Alternately download the latest rom for your model and flash that in odin and it'll update it.
Not that there is no (easy) way to root 5.1.1 without tripping knox.
How do I know if my phone is rooted or not?
Are there any obvious signs that will indicate whether or not the phone is rooted?
If the phone is rooted, where can I find the correct rom for my device and what are the steps to carry out this process?
Hello, I currently am running stock lollipop 5.02 (D80030f) on my unlocked D800, T-Mobile network. I was able to download a dlpkgfile for the D80030g update, but since I'm not rooted I don't know of a way to install this, and I've read if I was rooted it wouldn't install anyway. Is there any way to make this happen?
Hello everybody!
I'm new on this stuff of rooting my s8+ Phone (SM-G955FD-Exinos), actually i can get the root, installin magisk and that sfuff, everything is ok, but when i restar my Phone, got a bootloop, the phone says "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed ", well after that and 2 days with my phone dead, i finally can install the Official rom from Samsung and bring my phone alive, obiously without Root
I was searching about, and that happen because my Firmware is the latest update from samsung, the G955FXXU4CRK1, so its the 4 Binary, i found that i just can get root in the Binary 1 but when i try to flash that binary, Odin Says i have the binary 4 and cant instal the 1 Binary.
So, i just want to know, if i can get root for my firmware and after root the phone i can restart it witouth get a bootloop, of maybe i can Downgrade my Firmware to 7.0 and get fully root there?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.,
