Make a wish...We don't get the ICS update what makes you think that we will get the JB update?
Seriously...LG sucks...well it's not only LG but a problem in Android in general. Old devices (1 year like P920) have some difficulty to get new updates....
BAHHHH

Galaxy S2 is older than P920 and it's getting ICS. It's not android's fault it's LG's fault.

We don't even have ICS yet and you're asking about JB

Not in 100 years.

Have some sense people.
+Is JB out?
- Nope, LG passed JB and going to release 5.0!
Damn...

The problem is the 3d part mostly that's why the Delaylg and lg doesn't sucks that bad, we don't have all those counters as Samsung devices. Just lazy lg. Developers

Yes it is, users on thrill forums know about it. LG will be releasing ICS but not local LG in Canada.

One thing Ive learnt so far from LG.
1- Stay away from every single portable device carrying LG logo on it.
It will not surprise me if they anounce that O3D is also out of the ICS update list, but guess what? I just don't care, my last ROM v2.8 works good enought for my needs.

I'm with Thiaz although I don't actually use his roms/kernals. I use Promethius, but the answer is the same. I can't imagine ICS on my Thrill doing/having anything that i'd be interested in. In fact I'm sure it will bring more problems than it's worth.

Why do you assume it's the LG Optimus 3D?
A bunch of phones from LG look exactly like that. lol

It's just photoshop. Even if it's not a theme LG would never put stock ICS launcher on any of their phones.
Yes Stinger2U is correct....LG will put there UI 3.0, if they release ics for their phones........
it will be true??
Get ICS
Woooowwww

LG SU660 ICS Source Drop

For those interested, LG has posted source for ICS on the P999's older sibling, the SU660.
Available from LG's open source page - but I can't post a link apparently.
[Edit: Link is 2 posts down. Thanks dw9906.]

How do u think its even possible if the rom hasn't even made for g2x?
Our devs can modify the source for g2x but I don't think LG is gonna provide one for g2x

Ofcourse not. Hackfest was based on a modified cm9 kernel that's why all those cm9 bugs in that. The only rom using this kernel now is v30c and also the cm10 acree has on his p990 ... just wait two more days ... u will start to see the roms arrive magically by the weekend

So wonderfully exciting.
My god, lg is trying to make a come back. its kinda working.
Did LG just ***** slap T-Mobile or what! This entire time T-mobile's reps have been trying to blame LG for the lack of ICS on the G2x when LG has said they were working on it and that T-mobile didn't want the update. So LG releases to source code and look at that seems like LG was actually doing what they said.

This combined with the comeback of the G2X on the Web Store of T-mobile...
We need to keep in mind a couple things.
1) LG Kernel source drops are rarely 100% ready to compile. The kernel experts will need time to fix all the loose ends that LG left when they ripped out things they don't want the outside world to see (it happens!) Also there may be bits and pieces that the kernel depends on to compile that are themselves proprietary and not included. Again, not a show stopper for the pros, but takes time to fix up and make into a compilable and working kernel.
2) Just because there are defines for p999 in the kernel doesn't mean that it contains full p999 support. It may or it may not. I'd be shocked if it does.
But it looks like we're golden for ICS .... Silver for JB? Hopefully if there are issues on JB with this then some of the better devs will at least give cm9 ICS a second look.
And hopefully this kernel dump will be better than previous for those of us unfortunate enough to have SOD/Reboots on anything but stock LG.
They released source for the P990 as well.

Can't wait for cm10 hopefully we get it before the weekend. I've had galaxy s2 and HTC amaze and I like my g2x better its just the right size

Porting Custom rom O3DMax!

Hello everyone
I just wanted to announce that I am going to port a 2.3.6 custom rom from Optimus 3D to Optimus 3D MAX (P720).
EDIT:
I sold it, so I can't work anymore on it.
Why are u gonna do that?
Optimus 3D gingerbread rom are HORRIBLE!
BTW the lastest official Optimus 3D (p920) rom is Android 2.3.5 based.

Oh I didn't know that
But... I just hate to keep using that stock rom.
So to learn porting I'll try to port a o3d rom for o3dmax even if I don't have benefits from it ;D
EDIT: Of course if there is any custom rom running 2.3.6
nope, only 2.3.5 roms...
i wish you good luck.
i currently have a bricked O3DMax and you porting it would help me alot!!!.
even a partition dump from your working device would also help!

armcee has forgotten about the O3D what i would like to see 10.1 on GB Bootloader with Stock Kernel
I really want to have 10.1 and I don't think arcee has forgotten about us. He just waited for ics sources for most of the lg devices.
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
I would like if he could get working CM9/10 with GB bootloader, that would we awesome.
I think/hope that he will do it like he did it with the p990 and p970. He released cm10 just a few days after the Korean versions ice source was dropped and now he posted screenshots of both of them running cm 10.1
Oh and both of them are using gbs boot loader and partition table
Sent from my LG Optimus 3D using Tapatalk
Exactly so it will only be a few more days maybe a week because he's working on all his devices.
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
well then we'll have to wait and see
which we are fully capable of this device made us learn Patience lol
