[Q] No signal in AOKP build 40 - HTC One S

I have recently installed AOKP build 40, but the problem is I often receive no signal until rebooting into recovery and wiping the cache. This works but it is very frustrating to have to do this frequently. Does anyone know of a permanent fix to this problem?

I was having a similar problem. You can turn on airplane mode, leave it for about thirty seconds, and turn it off. It works better than nothing.
Now can you answer me a question as you do seem to still be running AOKP. Do you have trouble downloading stuff from the Google Playstore? It keeps timing out on me. Won't let me down anything until I force stop, disable, and re enable. The bigger issue is that it followed me back to a sense rom and I'm still having trouble downloading.

Sounds like the RIL startup bug which was fixed a week or so ago by intervigil in CM9 alpha 12. I think the fix is in the kernel and that it'll work on AOKP as well. Try to fastboot flash boot a recent CM9 boot.img, from alpha 12 or newer. Download from ville.giev.de or cm9 thread in development

[Q] Wifi Issues

I would have posted this in the Sensation Android development area, but I don't have sufficient privileges to do so.
I no longer have WiFi.
I am using the 4.1.2 CM Kang, and I originally had WiFi working with that ROM, but it stopped working about a weeks ago, and I can't get it to come back.
If I watch the Wifi on/off toggle, I can see it blink white for a split second then return to grayed out about once every 5-10 seconds.
I've checked the WiFi settings, and the only thing that looks peculiar is that the region code under Advanced says "Europe," but when I try to change that, it just reverts.
I have tried a factory data reset,re-flash of the ROM, and installing newer versions of the ROM with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
tried this ?

I tried to install WiFix Manager, and I followed the directions closely, but WiFi still will not turn on.
The country code always reverts back to Europe in the Advanced WiFi Settings.
I'm on T-Mobile US, running AOKP aokp_pyramid_unofficial_Oct-19-12.zip; a JB ROM; 4.1.2
I previously tried the CM10 Kang for the HTC Sensation, but switched ROMs to make sure that it wasn't issue with the ROM.
To be clear, my problem is not that the WiFi radio never locks to a particular signal, it's that the WiFi radio won't even turn on.
When I go to WiFi settings it just says, "Turning on WiFi...," and never actually turns on.
My best guess was that it had something to do with the WiFi country code, but that's really just a stab in the dark; open to suggestions.
Thanks

In order of easiest and quickest to longest time it will take to do each one...
Install the latest version of the ROM (10/23) overtop of your existing rom (5 minutes)
If that doesn't work...
Do a full wipe and install a fresh copy of the latest version. (15 minutes, with Nandroid backup)
If that doesn't work...
Format your SD card (save all the contents to your computer first) (40 minutes between copying every to the computer and back to the SD card)
NON ROM RELATED OPTION IF YOU ARE S-OFF
Reinstall your firmware as it's possible something got messed up. You will have to boot to recovery after this and wipe cache and dalvik or you will get bootloops. (5 minutes, but a little more involved)
My guess is that the full wipe and fresh install is the most likely to work the first time.

is there a sensation specific guide for this procedure?
Still perplexed
How do I know which kernel and radio combination should work best with my ROM. I switched out to AOKP to see if that was the problem, and I believe I'm using the 3.33 Kernel, but I don't know how to check to make sure it installed correctly.
Had the same problem as you but a full wipe and reflash would bring it back. Seems to be a CM10 problem since it happens with Bruce's and Paranoid roms. Try a Sense rom and see if wifi works.
Is OpenSense considered a "Sense ROM?"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926858
Try that rom, more stable and better performance than all the popular roms.
I had the same problem only option was another room Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.8.0 (this is the rom)
so long, and thanks for all of the fish...
I figured it out.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S III. WiFi is working again.
Thanks for all of the help!
wifi cm10
I have tried several CM10 roms. It is as you said about the region code. It reverts back to the original and doesnt save it on the settings
Even though editing db file doesn't work. Actually it changes the country code. I guess the ROM changes it during booting. Because while it boots you can see that the wifi is connecting first then goes off. I have tried several roms. DOnno what the problem is. probably JB both on cm10 and aokp

[Q] In call volume muted and random network disconects

Hi all,
My front facing phone speaker seems to be permanently muted. Whenever I get or make a phone call no sounds come from the speaker on the top front of the phone. When I switch to speaker mode everything works fine. Also the phone randomly disconnects from the phone network then reconnects. I was originally running Cyanogenmod 10.0.0 during which everything was working fine. I then upgraded to a nightly using the built in cyanogen upgrader. For a time after this everything continued to work. Eventually these problems began. I again upgraded, using the built in upgrader to 10.1.0 RC1 then 10.1.0 RC2 which didn't seem to change anything. Finally I used recovery to wipe the cache and factory reset and flash 10.1.0 RC2 and the latest gapps package. This didn't help either. I then repeated that process except with the version 10.0.0 of cyanogenmod which also did not fix the problem. I'm not sure if these problems are actually related but they seemed to start at around the same time. I've never knowingly flashed a radio on this thing, I'm not sure if the in app upgrader does this or not. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on what my next course of action should be or if they have had similar issues and have found a solution.
Thanks.

If you were happy with everything working WHY in the world did you upgrade to a Nightly? Nightly by definition is only for people who know what they're doing and are not afraid of the Night.
Anyway, there are like 6.0221413e+23 changes from cm 10.0.0 to 10.1 RC2. What can I say you did a dirty flash (upgrade!), and probably didn't back up.
So the first thing you should do is back up. NOW (go to CMW recovery and back up)
Download a better behaving nightly like the one JD1639 uploaded. get it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272261
Download the UCMC1 radio (assuming you're on at&t)
Download the gapps 20130301
Put them all on in one folder for easy access
goto the CWM recovery and get to work:
1-backup
2-cleanup: go to mounts and format data, cache, system (don't format the sdcard!!!) and don't reboot until everything is finished
3-clean dalvik cache from advanced
4-install in this order: RADIO file.zip (UCMC1)
5-CM ROM
6-gapps
7-go to Advanced Restore option, find you back up and restore the "DATA" portion ONLY
This should save you ... good luck,
Commodore 64
Thanks for the reply.
That seemed to fix the connectivity issue but not the sound issue. I guess that could just be a hardware thing. If it were a software issue is there anything else I should try?

You know I don't think it is a hardware issue since it started after one of your updates. If you were on a ROM for while, and one morning you wokeup and the sound didn't work ... maybe. But i'm not convinced since also I remember around Feb-March there were some complains on sound not working after flashing to 4.2.2 version of the cm. Try flashing back to the stock UCMC1 ROM (absolute stock flashed with Odin not CMW) and then do a factory reset.

[Q] HTC Explorer cyanogenmod 9.1 wifi freeze

I've installed cyanogenmod 9.1 a couple of weeks back and it seems I have a wifi problem. At first it worked ok but lately it seems that the wifi freezes in "enabeling wifi" mode. It works fine if I reboot the phone but I'm tired of doing that evrey time I want to connect to my wifi. I've also tried something with "echo murata > /data/.cid.info...etc" that I found is used for fixing this for samsung galaxy s3, it worked at first use but then nothing.
A solution could be keeping the wifi always on but this drains the batery.
Hope someone can help me with this...Thanks in advance.

Hi, the reason for this is unknown.. but upgrading to Android 4.2.2 + seems to fix the issue. It was fixed in the kernel for those ROMs.. So only possible workaround is to upgrade to 4.3.1.. which is bugfree..
Edit .. : Now I recall that it was an issue with the wifi drivers in the kernel. If you can .. search for the wifi fix by Immortalyash .. He had done it in cm9.. as well as in minicm9. check it out.

this is a common bug in cm9 & minicm9 roms..4.3 roms don't have this issue. I'm using minicm9 with aries kernel oc & no wifi toggle issue yet..you should try aries kernel too maybe it'll solve your problem.

New problems...
So i've tried a bunch of different kernels starting with pandora r3...that didn't do anything, then i installed garuda v5 that fixed the wifi problem but made another one...that being it can't recognize the sd card anymore, i can see the second partition but sd card appears removed and when i take the card out i can still see the message sd card unexpectedly removed, so most of the apps are crashing, and also when i go to Settings->Storage i get "Settings has stopped". This also happens for Settings->Apps.
Now i've reflashed pandora but i think something from garuda remains because i still get the errors from it even with pandora installed. And i know this because every time i reboot, after the cm9 logo i get "Android is upgrading. Optimizing xx from xx apps". I've only seen this with garuda.
I wanted to try aries kernel now but cannot download it because i cannot see the card and i'm also at work so i'm not able to connect the phone to the pc and copy the kernel from recovery mode because of the restrictions on the computer....It's really messing my day...Should I do a clean install when I go home? What is the best cm version for this phone? I've also had 10.1 but this had problems with the alarm...like it only rang after i woke up and unlocked the phone...never at the hour selected...and also it drained the battery faster...Waiting for a good suggestion for this letter ...Thanks in advance!

For the sd card issue you can try multimount from the playstore
Also check the 4.3 roms as they are very stable and don't have any issues.
And before flashing any rom just do a factory reset, thats all...
Hit THANKS if I helped

not much..cm9 is build for hdpi devices & minicm9 is for mdpi devices so it flies better on our pico.

You can try int2ext+.. it works fine.. just backup your apps using titanium backup or helium or similar and reflash the ROM with int2ext
Ok so finally I've managed to make everything work. First I tried to increase the memory using int2ext+ but it got stuck in cm logo loop, or I didn't wait enough I don't now, but then i reflashed using int4ext+ and it worked like a charm . So thanks everyone for the feedback and have a nice day...Cheers!

I don't know why you faced so much issues because for me there are no such problems..only cm9 wifi toggle issue was there before using aries kernel & ofcourse cm10.1 bluetooth toggle issue. I never faced robotic call or freezing problem on any rom.

[Q] Factory reset/wipe, new installation, still Rebooting

So...I have had a captivate and SGS3 and have never had so much trouble with a phone. This infuse is frustrating and complicated to work with. I have blue CWM which was acquired by using Entropy's guide and the other numerous helpful tips out there. I had rootbox running which would eventually start FC'ing and acting dumb. I wiped everything the other day and flashed unofficial CM 10.2, it worked perfect then random reboots to stuck at samsung then cyanogen mod then back again. Sometimes it would randomly reboot in CWM, which has never happened to me on other phone. I feel like going back to stock and back again is the only answer, but it seems like a lot of work and I already did that and it was fine.
So, all you guys that understand whats going on behind that scenes, what do you think the issue is?
UPDATE: I found a video that may link this behavior to a hardware issue caused by poor design by Samsung having too many contacts that can get gunked up and causing issues.
Might be a problem with the version of the Gapps you're using. Consider changing and even going back to older versions. I found v 12/12 signed very stable on cm10.1.
If still stuck, consider Odin back to stock in download mode and flash cm9 and cm10.2 again!

[Q] Losing Network Constantly - Latest CM Nightly Build

Hello!
I was using the SungSonic ROM for almost a year now and I decided to change it today. So I flashed a CyanogenMod Nightly build for the P3100 This morning.
It booted up fine, and there were no issues in the beginning.
But then it started disconnecting calls randomly. Like, Someone calls, The phone rings for a second and boom! It shows a missed call.
I figured rebooting it would fix it but it made my problem only worse.
It now barely shows any Network service at all. If it is there, only for about 20s before it goes back off.
Is there any way to fix it without flashing another ROM? I like CyanogenMod and plus, its for my mother and I prefer keeping it simple.
Also, keep in mind that my Tab does not get recognised on any PC with any Cable I could find.
So, I am stuck with PhilZ Recovery for the P3100.
If the problem can be fixed via Flashing a new Mode/Baseband then please, give me a .zip for only the modem and not the whole ROM.
Thank You for Reading and I will hope you guys help me out.
Regards,
Shinichi Reshima
Always do a nandroid B/U before you flash so if you run into a problem like this you can go back. CM nightlys are not always stable, and sometimes you can't use them unless you have the base stable version of that ROM already installed. Must try and install the base version of the build, it may fix your problem. I run CM11 by Android Andi with no issues and no nightlys.
