Hello,
I am searching for the best phone on the Beyond Talk Virgin Mobile plan. I am looking for a phone that has a lively dev/hacking scene and has the size of something like a Droid X.
To all of you who think I am re-posting I have not seen a thread with the new phones in the lineup.
Thank you for your time in advance!
Any answers?
Wow what a question. There are a couple of nice phones out there. I would prefer an android device as those have the most dev attention.
The Galaxy S3 has a very powerfull GPU. I played around with the HTC One X for a while. Ok, it is really big but nice...
I think it will make it into the official CM9 soon.
Here are the phones
-Motorola triumph
-HTC Evo 3d 4g
-LG optimus elite
-HTC wildfire S
-LG optimus V
-Samsung intercept
-LG optimus slider
-Venture
If you want a screen size like the Droid then the motorola triumph is for you, then there is the new HTC evo 3d 4g with a big screen and new 4g. Alot of Dev support for the phones are HTC evo 3d 4g, lg optimus V, motorola triumph and more is starting on the lg optimus elite. If you are looking for something affordable (under $200) then the new lg optimus elite is what you want, 1 ghz processor, super fast, great screen, phone feels big in hands and more IMHO It's the best phone virgin mobile has out (other then the Motorola triumph or HTC evo 3d 4g)

Hi,
Time has come for me to recontract and choose the new phone. Based on my budget/contract I can get any one of these, not sure which one should i go for. Appreciate if someone can give me some help
HTC Desire S
LG Optimus 2x
LG Optimus
Samsung galaxy super clear lcd
SE xperia x10 HD
Prices for all of these are almost same subtle difference only.
Thanks in advance
I'm no tech guru but I'm just going by word of mouth. Though I have been a long time supporter of Samsung I would stay away from that Galaxy S phone since it appears to be mediocre. My friend did a benchmark on his LG Optimus 2x and it did very well. He really enjoys it and recommends it. The Xperia would be a great option if you enjoy playing games. You Tube has great reviews on most of these phones
Id Go For the HTC Desire S. But thats Just Me.
i went for the desire S & i really love it
you can go for the optimus 2x if you want more processing power
2x for pure power!

optimus 2x..
Thanks all for your replied, helped me a lot to shortlist my next toy. now seems to have only 2 choices either 2X or desire s. 2x has more supporter than desire s, could be due to dual core. other devices seems not famous at all
Good Evening,
I'm looking for a replacement to my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Windows Mobile 6.5).
What's a similar phone with Touch + Keyboard, preferably running Android?
HTC still seems to be the only phone site which allows you to compare based on hardware features :\
Please recommend some smartphones to me!
Thank you,
Alec Taylor
FYI: I want Android primarily because of its g++ support... I can compile on the phone. So feel free to suggest one with a different OS if I can still compile my C++ on it :]
Hey,
I can recommend the HTC Desire Z or G2 if you get it from t-mobile. It's a wonderfull phone with a lot of nice roms out there.
The keyboard is nice (I even like it more than the keyboars of my G1 now...).
The only flaw is the battery... But well that's life with most smart phones.

If you're state side... the MyTouch 4g Slide:
http://mytouch.t-mobile.com/4g-slide
Otherwise the HTC Desire Z (G2 on T-mobile) is a great device, although it has a single core processor.
The processors and memory on the myTouch 4G Slide look awesome!
However, I'm in Australia and also, I don't need a good camera...
You used to have a TP2; I can touch type on mine. Have you seen any with a similar keyboard?
The HTC Desire Z looks quite good, although I remember seeing someone else's and having a play around... it was a little small (the keyboard) compared to TP2's.
conizius: By G1 do you mean TP2 and by G2 do you mean Desire Z?
Motorola Droid 3, if you need a keyboard
Holy crap!
That Droid 3 looks AWESOME! (thinnest QWERTY keyboard, 8MP Camera, 1GhZ Dual-Core, Gingerbread and 16GB on-board memory)
!!!
:]
Fadika!
droid 3 is useless in australia, its a CDMA phone for US only (and a very few other random countries)

Do you like HTC Chacha.?
Nope, I don't press the Like button on that one
But seriously...
I'm looking for a non-blackberry type one, one where you turn and slide to type :]
HTC Desire Z is great but a little outdated.
Research
I spent hours doing research as i'm also looking for an answer on this one.
This is what i have shortlisted:
Motorola Cliq 2
Motorola Droid 3
Samsung Galaxy 551 Samsung I5510, Samsung Callisto
Samsung Epic 4G / Galaxy
Samsung SGH-T589 Gravity SMART / Gravity Touch 2
HTC Speedy: Sprint EVO Shift 4G
HTC Desire Z
HTC Merge HTC Lexikon, HTC ADR6325
T-Mobile G2 Mytouch slide 3G
T-Mobile myTouch2
T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide (HTC Doubleshot)
LG C550 Optimus Chat
ZTE Amigo
They all have a keyboard. The only other major considerations for me are battery life and size/weight.
My TP2 is dying fast so i need to buy something now!
Good luck.
Hello everyone Today bought Optimus 3D. I was very pissed with wildfire, laggy phone.
So i have some questions.
Wich phones now are best?
1. 3d evo
2. galaxy s2
3. optimus 3d
?
SHould i unlock my phone like wildfire and instal other roms? But i like default rom very much Wildfire was rooted because it was slow, i wanted to find fastest rom and good battery, but this phone is fast enough.
Hey there,
If you bought your Optimus because you are interested in 3D contents IMO you made the best choice available.
The Evo 3D doesn't have good stuff 3D at the moment so I don't really see the point of HTC developing such phone without stuff to download.
Now if your thing is not much 3D so I would go for the Galaxy SII.
I haven't rooted my phone and I'm very happy with the stuff that I've got so I guess it's a personal thing do it or not.

Agree 100%. LG is sooooo bad on updating their devices and without the right software we cant get the best out of O3D.But 3D is great.
what is O3D ?
Yes, im interested in 3D What cool things i can get? Can u say? Because all i got is from default rom. What is better with rooted?
O3D is Optimus 3d, also known as the Thrill in the United States.

Hi guys, I'm new to here.
I don't know which one I should buy: Optimus 3D or Galaxy R?
Some of my friends says that Optimus 3D uses TI OMAP4430, its faster. But in YouTube videos, Optimus 3D suck in internet using. Galaxy R is not fast as Optimus 3D but it plays 3 videos in same time perfectly.
I don't care about the 3D option of Optimus. I just want to have a phone which can give me good sound, fast internet using and watching videos, great screen to play games and enough battery time for me.
In here...
Galaxy R is 485 euros/630 dolars.
Optimus 3D is 525 euros/685 dolars.
Thanks.
Get a Galaxy S2. It's amazing. If you want a cheap dual core droid get the Galaxy R.

Yea, LG....???
GS2 or I guess, R, though I'd just fork over a little bit more and get S2.
Or try lg optimus black, best screen ive seen
huh?
I'm either that old-fashioned or LG actually stepped their game since last tech-decade (which isn't an actual decade, but you know what i mean)?
Get a Nexus Phone. It's the best android phone!
I think you can also get a HTC Sensation for the price of the Optimus 3D. If it is avaiable in your country i'd totally recommend the Sensation. If you can spend a little more get a GS2. I bought mine for 550 dollars and it is totally worth it

galaxy r
Mostly wondering how the HTC Scribe compares to the Galaxy Note's S-Pen. From what I've heard the S-Pen is more accurate, but the Scribe seems like it'd be more usable with the bigger screen and the buttons on it. Of course, there's also a huge price/availability difference between the two.
And how's the LG Thrill (Optimus 3D) versus the EVO 3D? I heard LG isn't the best with updates, and development for it is basically dead, but I heard the 3D effect/camera is better than the EVO 3D, and even though the EVO 3D has more development, I'm not sure how much of it actually fully supports the 3D functions. Plus the Thrill's HDMI-out apparently supports 3D content unlike the EVO 3D.
Basically I'm wondering if I should pick up a Flyer or Note to use as a tablet, and then get a EVO 3D with a bad ESN for less than $200 and use it as a PMP/3D device while keeping my HTC G2, or get a Nokia E71 for the StraightTalk SIM and alternate between it and the LG Thrill for a ~$400 total before selling my G2 (using the E71 as the primary phone for the keyboard, and swapping it into the Thrill for when I need more than just basic web browsing and using it as a PMP/3D device otherwise).
