[Q] TF101 US Release

Anyone has more news on the release dates and availability in US soil?
This thread is intended to gather all that information, the different available version at launch and prices

so far ive heard mid/late april and also may 7 which i thought was canadian release date, which could always be tied in with US release,
either way....hopefully this thread can help get a better idea of the US release

I am surprised they don't have U.S. preorders out yet, which makes me think that it is coming at a later date

The release for this baby is 'early April' according to Asus, so we won’t have to wait long to find out the official pricing (considering April is, you know, here).

Darn, I got excited when I read the thread title.

i've waited too long the fever is cooling down.
they are out of supplies in taiwan, and due to japan earthquake, parts were delayed. i'd be surprised if they'll have enough to display in every bestbuy store by end of month.

I saw dates of April 19 being mentioned in various places, but more likely in other forums. None of the etailers like amazon have anything on it either, although newegg lists the 32GB version but no release date or price. Japan situation is really bad though so that could be reason of no word from asus. If there really is a big delay and it goes into May I might just wait and see what the samsung 10.1 situation is as thats meant to be released June 6 or 9.

OMG I desperately want this tablet. At first I was all for the Xoom, but my interest in this tablet has grown exponentially daily! I just hope that it's out in bestbuy by my birthday, April 23rd!!

Well i hope the 19th is accurate because my birthday is on the 18! easy way to justify the purchase! but given we're a week away with no word, can only hope now.

mine's 17th
we should have a bday party together, stare at the pictures of transformer, and tears running down the face

Amazon UK are now saying preorders will be dispatched on the 1st of June. That could mean the US release is pushed back at least that far.

I really hope it goes up for sell sometime in April. Not sure I can wait much longer....

How could that be? Didn't the Transformer go on sale very recently in the UK? So, couldn't someone in the UK just walk into a retail store as we would in the US and pick one up - or is it really that backed up/not available in stores?

Anyone working for bestbuy, or with friends working there or friends of friends or ... that can spill some details?
We promise we won't say anything and we'll keep this just among us...

i envy you guys...i was waiting for tmo's gslate until i saw the transformer..but my needs changed and i'm dropping my gal tab since i picked up the asus eee slate ep121....and although i will miss android...i cant say enough good things about this slate

Amazon always tends to play it safe to try and avoid extra calls etc. However, as soon as they have the stock available they will ship it out ASAP and I am sure that will not be June.
Now I just wish we would get a US release date!

I hate to say this but, if it was anytime in April, I would think that we would be able to pre-order.
At this point I may be moving forward with the Iconia....

i was debating on the acer jsut because the US hasn't even heard a thing about a release date, but i don't know if i can push myself to do that lol

It's not supposed, they actually listed the number of sales (as they do all their sales): 10452
Going through the forums for that, it seems that woot was selling the Gtablet from a vendor (probably overseas as their English wasn't great in the woot forums).

It is actually a better deal than the Woot deal I got.
This one qualifies for free shipping saves you an additional $5.00.
It does list the tablet as sold by Woot.
I am pretty happy with my tablet so far. The only down side I've seen so far are the posting about support from nvidia and us merchant.
Woot must have gotten a huge inventory on these tablets.
Don't know if the large number of users plus a portion of the new Xoom tablet is going to alter nVidia's direction.
Andrew certainly stirred up a bit of discussion that needs to be clarified. There's a new post on techeye.net an hour ago talking about Tegra 250 Development Kit. I am too new to post a link here.

Add another 1300 for the Woot Off and it's 11,752. I wonder how many Amazon will sell today?

VS and others emptying the shelves of this device. Guess a device that can't go past Froyo due to no support for updating the Tegra processor by the manufacturer is doomed. Still enjoy modding it with all the ROMs out there. Wonder if the price will get to $199 ever?

This is still up for debate. With the crap-storm of bad publicity they got the last few days and their 'clarification' on their stance on what 'Harmony' means, there may be a possibility that we will get hardware accelerated drivers from them yet.

I bought one earlier today. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Hi how about a android build on the touchpad. I will be receiving mine in the next few weeks, I won mine from tigerdirect and any assistance you need i will give you in compleating this, unfortunatly i dont know much about webso but should be able to pull off a android 3.0-3.1 build that will work.

i would rather offer the savings to someone who actually plans to develop for it . i can just as easily make a profit on it considering retail the package would cost you $640

Seriously, what the hell is going on with this tablet and it's release date?
I check these forums every day for months, and I just had to make an account to ask this. I see everyone ordering from overseas, the release date was supposed to be July 14th in USA, well what gives? It's July 25th and there is NO WORD ANYWHERE.
I am getting pretty frustrated so if anyone can give me a reason why there is no date set yet, or why Asus is being so god dam secretive about it like it is the most important thing in the world ever. Also concealing a release date offers no benefit to Asus. This is dumb as ****... /endrant

A quick search of the forums will show many North American stores have been selling it since ~16th of July. You can order it online through many of the American retailers (B&H, Tiger Direct, Amazon, Best Buy).

I've had my TF700 & dock since last Thursday! I ordered it on Monday from Office Depot (online).... I guess you just weren't looking hard enough!

Hey, I live in the US and I've had my Infinity for a week now. Got it from a domestic vendor too (newegg, specifically). It's out, trust me, just really in high demand and hard to find. I was lucky enough to place an order when Newegg just got a shipment in, and it was sold out within an hour.

Distribution of this tablet is trully wired. At the begining of June, I read that tablet will be aviable in England in late August.
I was very suprised, when I saw Infinity in shop in Poland. I did buy 64GB version with dock on 29 June without any problems.

Keep in mind we are a international community here at XDA. Mani are purchasing from outside the states sources because they are also out side of the states. You'll still have a little trouble getting your hands on one in store, but I ordered mine from amazon two days ago and it will be at my door today when I get home from work (I hope).

You can use the website http://www.nowinstock.net to see availability of the device in the US. Great resource for finding some of the hottest tech products.

Can't be to hard to find. I ordered and got mine from best buy last week and decided I want one more so I called best buy here in Idaho yesterday. They said they would have 95 units in store this Thursday. If you look at LA California BB stores they all have been in stock since last Thursday.

I am pretty excited about the Surface. So much so that I just sold my fun (but still not business useful) ASUS Transformer Prime with the keyboard dock for $475. Not a bad resale price. Now, to wait and wait and wait for the Surface prices and preorder.
My plan is to get an RT version for my "tablet" needs and then an Ultrabook with touchscreen or good touchpad with PRO on it when it is released. Also going to try Windows Phone 8 and leave Android (still like Droid) behind.
Does anyone expect it to be any day now on the prices/pre-order news?

I'm trying to sell mine for that price. Where'd you fetch that?

Sold it on Amazon...went in less than 24 hours. Now that money is waiting to be traded for a Surface. I wish more info would come out about if we can pre-order and where we can buy online. All I know is it goes on sale in Microsoft Stores (and pop up holiday stores) Midnight on the 26th. I am nowhere near one so I want pre-order info!

You are right...it was about $450.00 which is still good after shipping (which is far more expensive then the credit they give you.) I always ship with insurance too.

You never know. MS is known for lowering the price of their products to gain customer base earlier on. They might do that with the surface since they can handle a small loss. They did it with the xbox and now look how many people bought and play the 360.

Yeah it's weird you can't pre-order online or anything anywhere, not sure what MS is thinking about
