[Q] Inspire 4G Can't mount /cache/recovery - General Questions and Answers

So I have been looking everywhere, all over the internet for a solution to my problem and this is my final attempt before I send it into mobile tech videos for repair. about a week ago my phone randomly got stuck in bootloop, so I went in and flashed and updated version of coredroid, which worked at first but froze a few minutes in. after that I formatted everything except sd card, did factory reset, etc.. and tried to reflash the rom, no cigar. I ended up reformatting my sd card and reverting back to cwm from 4ext touch and tried to reflash stock rom which did not work either. and each time I go in to try to do anything it says:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
A few minutes ago I ended up successfully flashing CM7, but it ended up getting stuck in bootloop again anyways... :-(
Any help would be much appreciated!!

1. recovery.fstab is wrong.
2. change the same device recovery
3.update the recovery Kernel

So you have been looking all over the internet and still didnt post in your devices forum. Thread closed

[Q] Help will be appreciated.

...Samsung galaxy s 4g.....Long story short i failed at flashing a custom ROM and bricked my phone (my phone kept boot looping..idk if it's considered bricked)...i searched up how to unbrick using odin and it worked. The guide told me to flash this rom to my phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063696
Everything went fine but when i go into the android system recovery <3e> i get this:
E: Can't Mount /dev/block/st1ll
(invalid argument)
E: Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command
#MANUAL MODE#
E:Can't mount /dev/block/st1ll
(invalid argument)
E: Can't mount Cache:log/recovery.log
E: can't open Cache:log/recovery.log
E: Can't mount /dev/block/st1ll
(invalid argument)
The phone starts up and everything but i cant do a factory reset anymore (i would like to revert to un-rooted stock firmware) and any application i try downloading from the market is unsuccessful.
Any fixes/suggestions. Your help will be appreciated.
i'd re-flash again. get 2.3.4 and make sure you wipe cache/factory reset afterwards. use odin 1.85
Can you give me some links reliable downloads? they would be appreciated.
what rom are you trying to flash?
You need to flash The pit file along with the PDA it will fix that

I bricked my phone first time I tried to flash ROM after missing the mount/unmount section. I followed this guide and I was able to get phone back to stock.

[Q] Can't unmount/format/wipe the /cache partition SAMSUNG GALAXY SL I9003

Hi All,
I have been flashing back and forth to try things out on my Samsung Galaxy SL. Today, I attempted to restore back to RemICS and it hung for over an hour, so I hard restarted it. Now, I can't restore anything, because it hangs on the /cache partition. I also receive the message while in recovery mode
Quote:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I have attempted factory reset, manual formatting, and wipe cache, all to no avail (they all just hang).
I am running CWM 6.x.x.x
Can I use ODIN to restore back to its GB OEM unrooted. If poosible show me the links and threads. or any other stable ROM for SL in ICS or JB
Please help. I am paralyzed without my phone.

Hi, first flash pit file with checking repartition option using Odin and then flash factory firmware.. Then this issue should get resolved. After that as usual you can flash any ROM.
Hit Thanks if I have helped you...

i think your partition is corrupted due to flash script is formating the partition than hang.
just flash to stock from PIT will help.

[Q]Bootloop problem.

Hi guys i'm in a kind of a problem here. Yesterday my friend asked me to unlock his bootloader and root his phone, in order to let him use link2sd app fully. I did that, and he then wanted me to install him some custom ROM. I told him to clear out his SD card, because i will have to partition it to ext-4 whatsoever, and he did the factory unlock, not knowing that on the guide for rooting the phone it says not to do so. Ever since then the phone stucks in bootloop. I tried installing several custom roms, it didnt work, and all of the sudden the CWM based recovery i installed from guide, start writing this on my single move in recovery.
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I tried all the ways, deleting dalvik deleting cache formating before and/or after, and nothing worked, in the best case it skipped clear white HTC logo, and went to HTC logo with some beats audio logo, and then stuck there.. Then i tried installing the india stock version, and it passes the white HTC logo and goes to HTC Quietly brilliant logo, and keeps restarting that logo.. I am really out of ideas what should i do, so i hope some of you guys can help.
Thanks in advance.
Well try instaling different recovery, or install this one again, for sense 4 it's good to have ext3. Another thing are you sure you're wiping everything before flashing the rom.
Well i tried to change to TWRP, tried using Supewipe, tried flashing stock india and chinese stock rom, and it just loops in htc : quietly brilliant. Cmon guys, please, i need your help over here...
well, that's my last idea > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38098622
My knowledge ends here, somebody else should say, what's what.

[Completed] Does anyone knows how to fix a hard bricked phone?

Hi . I have a samsung galaxy next turbo (GT-S5570L) which was originally Gingerbread. I have succesfully upgraded it to jellybean plus. However when trying to upgrade to kitkat something went wrong and I think I bricked my phone. On recovery mode when I tried wipe data/factory reset a message displays
E:Can't mount/cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount/cache/recovery/last log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/last log
Moreover, when pressing install zip from sd card, it says installation complete, but when pressing apply update from sd card, it says installation aborted. On rebooting the device it won't load. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Greetings and welcome to assist. It sounds like your pit file is corrupt, try using kies/smartswitch emergency firmware recovery and it should fix it
Good Luck
