Hi Vikesh,
The drivers are for the reference platform cardhu & ventana both are tablet platform’s not mobile & targeted for developers who are developing on the NV reference platform.
You are free to try that but I am not sure it will work on the mobiles platform from people like Samsung.

Hi Vikesh,
There a Cyanogen Mod for LG Optimus 2X which is also same as the Samsung galxy R specs to specs it has Cynogen 7.1 I think based on ICs if I am not wrong you might want to find drivers in that rom for hardware acceleration for tegra.

Hi Vikesh,
I don’t think that is the case as LG has already announced on their facebook site saying they will be releasing ICS for Optimus which was delayed to Q3 due to some reason which I do not know.
And if Companies want to release ICS for respective handsets *they can work directly with NVIDIA on this.

Dear sir,
Back again with few replies got from several companies, actually running Tegra 2 AP20H chipset in there devices. As per Samsung, LG, Motorola The reason of why we are not getting ICS is "All these phones who run the Tegra 2 AP20H chipset."
Please find below mentioned reason which I found from A social site regarding Nvidia chipset:
"The culprit is Nvidia, not Motorola, Samsung or LG. Nvidia has not released the drivers/libraries for ICS, without which a fully functional ROM is impossible. You could see the difference. No Sony Ericsson or HTC phones use the Tegra 2 chipset. So does many of Samsung's top level phones. You can see that these phones are already receivng their ICS upgrade. Samsung, Moto and LG made a mistake of choosing Tegra 2 for their phones and we made a mistake of buying these phones. Now we've to wait till the idiots at NVidia release the drivers."

Hi Vikesh,
Like I have mentioned earlier it not only the NVIDIA drivers there are Number of stuff which is required for the update also Google has a say in this & not only NVIDIA drivers.
But if you check the web there are many tablets & phones based on Tegra chip which will be upgradable to ICS like the LG Optimus 2X also on the community website like Cyanogen etc there are already ICS based rom's for the Tegra based chips.

Hi Vikesh,
Normally there are many things other than drivers which are required to release an upgrade to an OS say ICS for android.
It is up to SAMSUNG when they want to release a update to a particular model & also if it makes a business sense in releasing an update as "Better performing Tegra -2 chip can give a better performance than the Samsung's own chip.".
So it is actually up to Samsung & not nvidia to release an update if they want to.

Check what the Linus had to say about it: Linus Torvalds says f-k you to nvidia
Though maybe a bit inappropriate but that's what he felt.

actually i m interested in Cm more than ICS, if the CM7 arrives to our device than the chances of getting CM9. yeah but if there are no drivers available from nvidia, we will miss h/w acceleration.

I just got CM9 + custom kernel for my SGT2 10.1 and I can confirm it turned it from a useless piece of @!#*)!, unable to play Angry Birds smootly and "worth" 400$ into a totally awesome device that now scores in Antutu benchmarks the same as SGSII - SGR (custom kernel) - SGNexus.
It's pretty normal that benchmark scores on AOSP/AOKP based on ICS will be lower than on stock roms. (Not all benchmarks though)
I'm running CM9 nightly on my SII and I am actually very positively surprised about the improvements they've made for last two monts. Don't forget that stable CM9 hasn't been released yet.
Yup only CM9 RC1 is official latest build, stable build of CM9 will be very fast and smooth.

Hi guys,
Hope you can help here.
I have a Fake samsung galexy s3, and I am looking for a new andriod rom to flash/put onto it.
One of my parents have a real s3, and the specs are different.
Using the AnTutubenchmark app, i worked out the following from my phone:
RAM : 438
CPU integer: 705
CPU float-point: 555
2D Graphics: 374
3D graphics: 1135
Database IO: 375
SD Card write: (9.6 MB/s) 96
SD card read: (14.0 MB/s) 140
CPU Frequency: 1400 MHz
If I go to the About Phone on the Settings page, the info i get is:
Model Number: GT-I9300
Andriod Version
4.0.4
Baseband Version
MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V20, 2012/08/13 14:56
Kernal Version
3.0.13
1211 V12
Wed Aug 22 16:01:01 CST 2012
Build Number
IMM76D.I9300ZSALE9
Custom Build version
1345619443
That is what it says from the Settings page, but i think its prob all faked.
Please, may you tell me where to download a proper, good version of andriod, because i really want to re-format this phone

I recently bought a Gigabyte Gsmart Arty A3, its a very nice phone for the price.
Chipset Mediatek MT6582
CPU Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7
GPU Mali-400MP2
I just rooted it and have been looking around for a custom ROM to install but there aren't any available!!! anywhere!!!
incidently Gigabyte doesn't come up in the device search on this forum!
So please pay attention to Gigabyte as its a great company which makes great phones that too for cheap.
Anything, even AOSP ROMS will be great.

Your biggest hurdle is that they almost never release kernel source for the device. So that best you can hope for are some alpha ported roms that may or may not work

You could but depending on Tue country the device comes from it might be pointless. Request it from the OEM..they will most likely say they don't have it as they just import and rebrand the device.
