Downloaded volume + and
Dsp manager to boost the volume of the speaker. Volume + boosted it when I raised it to 15 or something. And then it stopped working. Then I downloaded dsp manager. And it does OK. But. I wanna keep it louder when I have it on. As I posted this. We don't have the boot loader unlocked. And I'm thinking a custom rom would help. But idk. Does anyone know what I should do

Go to the volume + forum. Androidaudiohacks. There is a sound file you also have to copy over to your system/etc folder for volume + to work well

I've been using Volume+ for quite a while now, and it's worked great on every phone and os (gb+ics). I purchased the paid version because it has more features. I'm running Sick Sense. It's on level 12 and its pretty loud.

Seems the hack only works on some custom roms like app dev said. I'm on clean rom and it's not working with the nodded system files. I'm not sure it's completely optimized for ics sense of users anyway as many ppl in the app forum are reporting it not working properly.

Really? what was your setup like if you don't mind sharing?
I usually turn on a song then open volume + and play with the settings. Enable custom eq and play with the volume slider. It seems like you'll have to play with it to stick. Some levels don't make any change .

Poweramp ftw. The phone speaker equalizer setting is pretty loud and clear.

I have the same problem. Dont know whats causing it other than rockstar havent programed somthing correctly.
Im running a HTC ONE XL, Telstra branded.
Same here - EVO 3D with ICS, sound is crackling
Same issue, att HOX. I thought it was beats audio at first, but even when you turn it off, the crackling remains.
You're not alone, I get the same with Max Payne, with GTA3, occasionally with Osmos HD... Some games are fine, others aren't.
I was having the same issue when I got the ICS update to my HTC EVO 3D. I contacted Rockstar and this is what they are telling me:
"I was talking to some people here in the office and they said that we have had previous problems with sound on the Ice Cream Sandwhich with GTA III Mobile. It looks like as of now there isn't a direct fix. You may want to revert back to your previous OS to fix the issue.
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience"
So yeah. Its all about the game and I dont think an update is coming for this issue. Not right now at least...

Yeah. I have this problem and it's really annoying. Only seems to happen when playing quality sound games like GTA. Doesn't happen in scramble free.
I called HTC support and they said it's because their speakers are too small.

No its not beacuse of HTC, its because of Rockstar and their programming. I was playing without any issues when I was running Andoird 2.3.4, but when OTA ICS update came, the crackling started. Its not becuase of the speakers, its all about the game.
I never tried GTA3 after the update, but it was fine for me when I was on 2.3.4, didnt had any issues, it was running without any issues just like Max Payne.
I'm happy to confirm that this issue stopped for me after installing the stock Asia 2.23 ROM. :good:
I never had that issue on my HOX, but I have on my TouchPad. It appears to happen for no rhyme or reason.

Me too!
I do not have sound issues with this game.
This just recently started. I went to put my friend on speakerphone and could barley hear him. It's the same with music, notification sounds, etc. It's like as if it was on half volume, but it's on max. The only thing I can think that caused this was I spilled a VERY tiny amount of ice cream on the speaker grill, and cleaned it off quickly.
I'm assuming everyone here is on at&t, so my question is would they replace it for me? I have the insurance, but I feel like they wouldn't know if it was moisture that damaged the speakers...would they maybe give me a free refurb? I'm past the 30 days btw too, had the phone since release date.
Oh and one more thing, kinda random but if they did give me a new phone, do you think they'd be fine giving me the black one? (currently have the white) Or if there might be any way to fix this, let me know. I'm doubting it though.. thanks for any answers!
The HTC one x speaker is low if u have phone or music it still low I was disappointed once I heard my music I was like Wtf lol only on some headphones they sound good

most of the apps that can do this require root.. so you don't have to flash roms but you'll likely have to root

I'm on viper, how do I get it to be loud like nocturnal SE? I just want the speaker to be loud as the SE rom, which was the rom I used before viper.
I'm on viperxl newest Rom. Just came from Galaxy Note. I used Allshare on the Note, but I think that's a Samsung thing. I've been using bubbleUpnp on the app store for the one x, but I have to keep tapping the phone to keep it awake or it crashes. Is there an app on this Rom or a good one on the app store that works even with the screen off? I'm pretty lazy and like to download movies on my phone and then stream them to the tv.

I'm pretty sure the APK is the same everywhere. They just enable and disable parts of it depending on what device it thinks it's installed on. For example any phone can install Boost+ but only a recent HTC phone will get the option to run apps at 1080p.
What's the real purpose of this app? If you set game optimisation. Will it enhance the image quality? Or does it go in a more battery friendly mode with less performance.

Battery saving stuff. Games will run at 1080p if you choose. Other things it does is monitor apps which drain a lot in the background (after some days). Then it will recommend the apps that it will stop from draining in background. I like it. I don't game I just use the battery monitoring features. It also allows you to lock apps. So if you give your phone to friend or family, there are still some apps they cannot get into without your detail.
