Hey all,
I'm an avid Android fan who just recently got into app development. I'm really excited about Jelly Bean, and would be interested in working on a port to the Inspire 4G. I don't have any experience in this area, but I think it would be an incredible learning experience and hopefully beneficial to the dev community.
Would anyone be interested in working with me on this?
wrong section. (should be in general)
Before it's moved, there is a thread over the dhd section where there are a couple of people doing the same as you. Head on over there, maybe you can help each other out.

Sorry about the wrong thread. I'll definitely check out the one over at DHD.
Should/can I close this thread or will the mods?

Correct.
And it would be helpful if you guys would actually make use of the Report function to report inappropriately posted threads or whatever problem else.
You'd spare us a whole lot of trouble to read each and every piece written around here.
So is this still in the wrong thread?
Is Jelly Bean that far different from ice cream sandwich? Are you going to have to wait for the official ICS release for DHD to get all the functionality working?
We don't need this thread period lmao
"I am the Bacon Pope"
We haven't got ICS to fully work yet, and we are talking about jellybean already? I think I will wait for HTC to release ICS for the DHD first.

I have been running ics with no problems aside camera, but do agree its a little early for jelly bean
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
Yes its very early for jb after ics
but porting it is not very difficult.
Its just a better version of ics but as we know we dont have proper kernel for ics.SAME goes with jb .
what i think is kernel is the main problem.IF v have proper kernel jb will be no problem
I hace many problem yo be jallybean ny htc dont erario with jellybean

Yeah, Tough its an alpha release, its worth flashing...

Yeah randomblame has been like a mad genius and dropped 7 alpha releases in just a couple days and its been exciting. I'm on alpha 7 right now and its amazing how great this ROM is already!

I m using B1 release and works. I did not encounter major issues except random reboots once in a while. You can actually feel the difference of Project Butter in UI.

Because for one no official release of ICS is slated for the Inspire 4G and the DHD's release has been canceled sorry to break your heart. Also the alpha Jelly Bean ports were working far better then the alphas of ICS.
JB has been daily stable for me these last 2 days, only had 2 random reboots and the camera, well that's a very tiny price to pay.

Hi,
Is there any icecream sandwitch ROM for Mytouch 4g?
I am looking for stock icecream sandwitch without the SENSE UI.
Thank you.
Just look in the dev section. There are currently 3 ics roms, but they are all in beta stages. There is a stock ICS rom, an ICS rom with a sense-ish style to it, and MIUI V4 (ICS based MIUI).
And this is an example of how forums get cluttered.

you must have great searching skills to be able to ask a question like this...
Creamed glacier beta seems to be the best ics glacier ROM out right now

Because that's what the search function is for. You just don't jump into a forum and ask ridiculous questions like that. There's like 2 ice roms in the dev section and can guarantee there's more questions like this in the q&a section about ice roms.
But see, he would've found that out on his own instead of wanting to get spoon fed and clutter the forums.

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
No need to bump after 4 hours. Anything is possible if you properly motivate the right person(s).
Currently, most of the talents around here are focused on building a full working version of jb. Porting small elements over to ics is probably not going to be a priority for anyone...
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
Yeah sorry I just thought it was an easy question for a knowledgable dev.
I'm just asking because we're not gonna get a Jelly Bean sense Rom right? So if the v sync thing was ported to a Rom like elegancia 2.0.0 it would simply fly. Not knowledgeable but shpuldnt it just be that the dev looks at the source code and copies it over to the ICS Rom?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
I think that in order to get the vsync from Jelly Bean working properly on the Sensation we first have to wait for Qualcomm to release a software update to enable the triple vsync we would need, so not only are devs trying to port the complete Jelly Bean to the Sensation rather than small portions to ICS roms, but even Jelly Bean ROMs (one is already available for the Sensation) have to wait for Qualcomm to make the chips "triple vsync enabled" (kinda) via a software update.
I'm not entirely sure, I just read it somewhere, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Thx,

If it will happen, it will probably be viper IMHO. I'm pretty sure they are working on it. The jellybean 4.2 will be bruce2728.

The thread said it is. Maybe four posts down from the op. I read a little further and someone said is a sense based miui. I really couldn't tell you what that is exactly. Couldn't hurt to check it out and see if you like it, if not you can always change it back. Just do a nandroid backup.

I see it now. It is asop. I didn't read it all before but saw it after i read the op here so just thought they may want to try it. I want questioning weather or not you knew what you were talking about. No offence intended, I should have read further. It was a poster just trying to be funny I think. I was shocked when I saw it to and thought it was sense 4.1.2 cuz HTC is being stubborn about releasing the source aren't they? They even encrypted part of it so we can't get it. I think my next phone will be a nexus lol. I don't like sense anymore anyway.

I think sense 4 is a beauty but i like sd slot and removable battery and the new htc phones don't have either of them, that's why i got a gs3 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930189 ) which unfortunately got stolen two weeks after i got it so i had to go back to my old sensation....
Sent from my HyperMIUI Sensation using Tapatalk 2
That really sucks. gs3 is a nice phone. My wife has a gs2. Sense is OK but I've grown accustomed to being without it and now I prefer not to have it. To each his own tho, it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

Mostly all feature compare to ds are much lower including price. Still getting an updates. I think htc company is just interested in selling phone one time no updates nothing. Probably next time i wont go for htc may be ds is outdated have now time to change if no updates?

You've obviously read false. The Galaxy Mini hasn't even got ICS, let alone Kit Kat. The DS will be kept updated by XDA devs much better and longer than any Galaxy Mini.
And nope, it's not outdated, the latest Android ROM is CM10.1 which runs android 4.2.2 which won't be dropped by Google for another 2-3 years. So you can enjoy your DS longer, like most of us do, thanks to devs!

Read the replies to the thread. No-one really believes in that. And that are all just rumors. But if Samsung Galaxy Mini gets updated by Samsung(which is 0% possible), then the Desire S will get an update too. If all rumors about Kit Kat are true, then Desire S devs will be one of the first ones to release stable and fully functional ROM.

I am using CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM (UNOFFICIAL) 08082013
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305828
Runs great, and its android 4.2.2, no reason why we shouldn't see CyanogenMod 10.2 ROM's floating around in the future.
As for kitkat, who knows, Desire S still has loads of life in it yet, providing the dev's stay around for it.
I really have no idea why there is no official CyanogenMod 10.X for it.
Finger crossed lets hope dev work for our development cause i really love ds
