[Q] Put images in the Metro UI Background? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i've been thinking this for a while.
I know we can change the color of the start menu through the registry (or Metro Theme) and stuff, but, is there a way to put an image? Like a Start Menu Wallpaper or something.
Thanks in advance

Customizing Bar fonts in WM 6?

Hi,
Sorry, I posted this to the wrong forum.
I'm trying to change the font of the start menu. So I put a new font in Windows/Fonts and edit
HKLM/System/GWE/Menu/BarFnt Nm="Times New Roman"
But nothing changes in the bar after reboot. The font of the menu changes only when I'm changing
HKLM/System/GDI/SYSFNT Nm="..."
But then I have the same font in the main screens too. Am I not getting something? Is it a bug or a feature. Or is it simply not possible to change the font of the menu buttons only?
Thanks

Changing Color in Titlebar...

Hello all... This might be a stupid query, but I am not sure on how it is done. I have a Titan with Manila 2-D.. And when I change themes, the title bar does not. The only way I can change it is by changing the theme in the home items menu, and there aren't many choices there.
you can design a new theme and then install it....
try this program

Change start menu icon text colour.

Anyone know of a way of doing this? Done a search but can't find anything specific. I'm running Valkyrie's rom with GTX Sense installed and want the start menu background the same as the home tabs. Unfortunately the icons in the start menu are white.
Cheers in advance.
So this isn't possible then?

[Q] Changing all icons to black&white

Hi there,
So recently I got Nexus 5 after 4 years of HTC Desire. Quite a huge leap performace wise I might add, and this phone is absolutely a sweetheart. The first thing I did was rooting the phone
Anyways, I am thinking to change the color of all icons (including icons of applications) to black and white. I get it that I would need to extract the icons first, and then change the color using some icon or icon editing program or simply a photo editing program etc.
Now what I would need to know is that how can I repack the icons back to the application? or would I need to place it in some directory and fiddle with some xml file?
Cheers!

Click to collapse
Why don't you just use a Launcher that allow you to use custom icons? with Nova and Apex you can do it

Icons are icons. The colour of icons does not need xml files. Its all controlled by images.
You can actually repack quit easily, but also takes a lot of effort. You need to look at the villain rom theme engine. It is a flashable zip that unpacks each apk and replaces whatever you have in the zip in the apk. Essentially you would have /system/app_name/res/icon.png (pretending that this is the location of the icon in the apk, each will be different I expect)... but you have to do this for every app.
