by reboot do you mean the app or the actual phone? mine just pauses the music after a bit. but not sure if app reboots
do you mind telling us what is working and was not working since this is not stated at the original post?

on my part everything is working as it should, except the music player pauses after a while(random times). thats about it but like i said thats just for me

It would reboot the the phone not the app but I got it fixed so far I installed this kernel I played music for more then 2 hours straight no reboots runs pretty smoothly I have to say :good:
2 issues
The two issues about build 5 that are bothering me are
Auto brightness doesn't seem to work, screen stays very bright.
The play/pause button over bluetooth doesn't work. Forward and back seem okay.
It's slightly more laggy than build 3 (I skipped 4), and battery life seems a little worse.
Anyone else having those problems of have suggestions on what might fix them?
So I downloaded 5.5 but its only stays fully charged @62% other the that its butter

here's a list of issues I've encountered:
1. My phone can only be identified by Win 7 as MTP or camera mode (or something)
2. Internal storage cannot be used
3. Camcorder and panoramic (yea, of course)
4. Opera browser cannot be launch. I don't use Opera mini.

Try reflashing. My win 7 detects it same as your which is not big deal because I can access both internal and external. Might also fix the browser

Why did this need a new thread? After using EG since the AOSP launch, I think I may go back to GB. I love ICS but too many bugs for me.
Yes the reboot worked bumped it up to 99% waited around 10 min to get 100% calibrated my phone its running smoothly. No dropped data! Back in build 5 when I was on wifi and I world turn off wifi and my data connection wouldn't pop up now it works gps is good navigation is excellent I tested it not really of a robotic voice on navigation jbean market works I only had one reboot and I think it was cuz I didn't let my phone start up I just jumped into the web and it froze and rebooted I would recommend once u turn on your phone let it sit for 5 min

EGB Build 5 ICS 4.0.4 Issue with Auto Brightness and Data Symbol
I have the same issue with Auto Brightness not working. Also there is no data Symbol when having data roaming activated. The coverage bars are lit blue with the little arrows inside but no 4G /H/3G/2G symbol. When it's deactivated the bars turn grey. Data works, but would be great to have the indication on which data speed I'm on.

This happened to me before. What I had to do was clean install the eb rom but make sure you uncheck the install gapps button during installation. And flash it separately afterwards. Don't know why this happen or how that was the fix but I struggled for about to hours trynna fix it and that's what did it

I am noticing a trend now... Each morning the GPS wont start. I startup maps in the morning, and I get no GPS icon. (AGPS still works) When I turn GPS off, GPS won't turn on again... A reboot is required to fix the problem.
2nd phone now with this issue... starting to wonder if its related to charging all night...
I don't think it is related to charging, randomly my GPS will get stuck, either when I first try to use it, or after it has been in use for a while, the GPS icon just sits there, and it won't lock on, and I have to reboot.
Annoying to reboot when you're driving in an area where you're actually relying on the nav to be working!
I've had this issue too. I really hope they come out with an update soon. Love this phone besides the small nuances.

Weird, I don't have this problem but I do have a problem if I leave my WiFi on all night while it's charging. If I do, in the morning when I take it off the charger, the WiFi icon is gone and my 4G icon just keeps flashing every 5 seconds. It won't stop flashing and my phone will not have data until I reboot. Now I just turn off WiFi before going to bed since it doesn't happen any other time.
The easiest way to fix that is reconnect your wifi then while connected to wifi turn wifi off. Boom.

Did you guys get this GPS issue resolved with the new ROMS? I have the same problem and it doesn't seem to change if I use the stock Froyo or latest CM7.
Reboot and the GPS locks pretty quickly.

My GPS is "better" with the new baseband, but that is a highly relative term. It still takes 5 minutes or more to connect usually. The oddest thing though is when I go into GPS Status, I can see it is locked onto 7 or 8 satellites, but still doesn't have a lock, which is dumb because at least 4 should have a perfect lock. I will NEVER buy another LG phone in my life. Wish I'd have just waited for the Sensation, ugh.

My phone was from Wind Canada which has a baseband from Jun 7, 2011. If I am correct, there is no way I can even try the new T-mobile basedband that came with the GB update. LG updater says my phone is up-to-date, and I have not been able to find on the forums here a flashable file for the new baseband.
We're not sure when the Wind version of the GB update is coming. Hopefully soon, but the phone only launched here about 5 weeks ago.
Any other ideas?
Ok so when I try to tether my phone to the PC(windows vista 32 bit) it will connect but only for like five minutes then it only gets limited connectivity. Ok guys I'm using stock tethering with USB. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting and it will give full connectivity then it will drop to local only then in a few more minutes it will drop to limited connectivity. I just don't get it. It will connect but just losses connection like crazy. I will try a few apps and report back, in the mean time any help or ideas on what to do are welcome.

I dont think it matters if the phone is charging or the screen is off/on. I used to tether with the stock app all the time no problem while charging and screen off for a long time.
I just recently started getting limited connectivity. I only use our stock Mobile AP. I have never used the usb cable to tether. I wonder if it is a result of something we flashed..
If we can figure this out I will be very happy!

I agree. It would seem it is due to some unforeseen issue that I would not no anything about. It seems like when the phone goes to sleep that's when the trouble starts. I haven't been able to test this theory as I haven't had access to a PC for a day or two. Will report back with you guys cause I'm gonna try a few apps and see if keeping the screen constantly on will help if it does then we will know it is something to do with the phone sleeping while tethering. I always turned my screen off and never had an issue before. This is recent issue for me. I'm not running any battery saver apps..I did recently flash a ROM that came with Bali 3.3 uv.
I never uv and actually flashed Bali 3.3 (no uv) this AM. Could the under volting be causing it? The last time I tethered was two days ago so I don't know if I still have the issue with Bali 3.3
Thanks
Ok. I have done some testing and definitely have come up with a fix for us. Is it a temporary or permanent fix? I'm not sure just yet. This is what I did.
Turned on my Acer laptop/let it boot up.
Turned on our stock Mobile AP as a wireless tether. I got limited access.
I right clicked on the signal status bars icon.
I got a popup with 3 choices one of which was STATUS.
I clicked on STATUS and the limited connectivity icon (triangle with ! In it) almost immediately disappeared before my status window popped up.
I HAD FULL CONNECTIVITY.
I browsed a little.
I shutdown/started up my pc 3 times and had full connectivity each time.
I then, for40 mins, downloaded ROMS, Kernels, Mods ect from xda and rootzwiki using wireless Mobile AP with no issue our loss of connection. I worked it good!
I am now shutdown and waiting for an hour to pass (another 30min) to test if I will have full connectivity immediately on connection.
I'll check back in soon. Hopefully I'm on the right track!
**Also**
My phones screen was off the entire time.

No. Audiophile Funk in the trunk as of yesterday but I was getting it on Black Ice too. Just started happening 10-14 days ago
@GDofWR420
Ok. I started pc/let it boot up and run. I then turn on Mobile AP (wireless).
It showed connected but there were no bars and the blue wheel was spinning..still early in its connecting process I'm sure.
I got the limited connectivity icon on the signal status bars and it said Limited connectivity in the popup.
I right clicked the signal status bars and immediately got Full connectivity. I didnt even get The 3 option popup with the STATUS option.
I'm still fully connected as I write this. My phones screen off the entire time.
I'm going to shut down pc and reboot phone and see what happens...I'm sure it is something we flashed and when the devices "talk back and forth" something happens.
Forgive my noob speculations and non technical replies. I'm REALLY NOOB with pc's lol.
If all we will have to do is right click the signal status bars here and there that wont be to bad.
I'm going to Odin stock (probably not tonight) and see how that works for us also...
BTW; I have been using your CWM advance restore guide and I'm loving it! Wish you did it months ago! What a time saver! Thank you for that.

I think this half baked thing with ICS is horrible. Why have ICS and then put what seems lile ginger on top. Not happy with samsung roght now.

2. Cannot make own scrolling wallpaper

4. Signal strength lower
5. Gmail not autochecking for emails
6. Turn on silent mode by holding the power no longer there

I helped another user with the multi fc's by doing what i normally do when things get out of hand. I flashed darkside superwipe then odin the ics leak. This has the least amount of issues in my opinion and I've tried everything out there. No shut down freeze, no intermittent data loss, 0 lag. Its a clean start and its the best starting point imho.

Do you have a link to that file. I would like to do that. I used the wipe from CW but that did not help. Also I loaded what I thought was a stock ginger from here and it said custom and went against my count

Except for no 4. Signal strength lower where I agree with you, everything else works perfectly.
I would suggest a new flash after a full swipe

1, 3, 5, 7, 8) You need to Factory Reset or reflash using the proper directions (I don't have any of these)
4) Probably the same, mine is the same and sometimes end up with 1 bar more than on GB.
2) Part of ICS
6) If you keep holding the volume down button it lowers the volume, then goes to vibrate, THEN goes to silent.
Good news. I think I got it all working great now. Did the darkside superwipe and then reload. Most issues resolved except for the scrolling wallpapers and signal. Thanks for all the help guys.

Issues with ICS LEAK and EXCHANGE
Anyone else notice this? I set up the corporate email and everything works fine until i try to either edit or disable my signature, at which point, every time i send a message, it will not go out unless i manually "refresh". If I leave the "stock" signature, everything is ok. I have tried multiple ICS roms and have the same issue with all of them. Normally this would not bug me, however, I have been using the ICS leak as my daily driver and really need to change the signiture.
Thanks!
I don't have real issues with my ics except one big annoying one, the contacts!!
it hangs...i can't do anything..I froze it and installed go contacts, it works better but if i want to add new contact or add a number to existing contact it FC's after hanging for a while!! anybody seen this contacts problem!!

I have a HTC Inspire 4g, AT&T, 16gb microSD Sandisk card, no root, no roms.
It boots slow, but i've looked around and that seems to be normal.
Sometimes itll just freeze, anywhere from 3-15 seconds
Sometimes the screen and sound keep going, but the touch cuts off completely. half the time the buttons at the bottom work, the other half they dont, and i have to click the button at the top to turn the screen off and back on to fix it.
Sometimes when the screen is off, i click the top button, and the orange light goes on, and it clicks, but the screen stays black.
Sometimes it just freezes and i have to reset. Some of those times i have to take the battery out to reset it.
Sometimes it lags, hard, like the keyboard freezes, and i go ahead and finish typing, up to a whole sentence, and after 5-15 seconds all the text i type pops up on the screen, but i get no haptic feedback like i do when its not lagging.
Things load slow, the gps takes forever to connect, if at all, and it won't pick up wifi even when i'm well within range, and my mom's first gen ipod touch picks it up in the same spot at the same time with no problem.
Everything is up to date.
Anyone got any ideas? I thought about rooting it and putting a rom on, but idk if itll make a difference.
Its not covered under warranty anymore.
Pretty frustrating in general.

Best bet is to not root and have it checked via warranty. If you root you void warranty and if custom rom dont fix issue your stuck with it. Tho you can unroot with ace hack kit.

How do I do that? And what all will i lose if i do? as far as apps, contacts, call history, pics/vids, and messages go?
You do that by going to the home screen>settings>storage>factory reset...I had the same problem and when I rooted and flashed a custom Rom it was resolved

I ment home screen>menu button>settings>scroll down to storage and tap>scroll down to factory data reset....you will lose all apps...that's it.

Oh and you will not lose anything on your sd card or on your Sims card. If I was you I would back up my contacts. Follow these directions for that. Go to home screen> app drawer> find the "people" app and tap it> menu> tap import/export>export to sd card.
After you do the factory reset do this: home screen> app drawer> find the "people" app and tap it> menu> tap import/export>import from sd card, and all your contacts will be back like be4

Or your contacts will be restored back once you log back in Google Play thats if youve made and account with them.
Supposing the factory reset fixes my problems, imma root it. Anyone got a recommendation for a ROM? I'd like the latest version of android I can get that works fully, but more than anything, I want the best performance i can get out of the phone.
Backing up stuff now, bout to reset it.

And it looks to have fixed it. Thanks to everyone that helped. If anyone has a rom recommendation, let me know
For best performance try cyanogenmod 7. Truely I can vouch for the Android Revolution HD Rom. It's a sense 3.0 Rom, and it has android 2.3.5 gingerbread(very smooth). I can say that right now, there are no fully working android 4.0 ICS or 4.1 Jellybean Roms(Release candidate).

Depends on if you wanna keep sense or not. Cyanogenmod 7 and Revolution HD are good choices. Best thing you can do is flash around and find what suites you. If your wanting to check out some of the latest android versions like ICS I'd say give exits aospx a try, and keep your eye on the latest jellybean ROM called Jelly Time in the Desire HD thread...its exploded practically over night and is looking to be a daily driver in no time the way the devs are working over there.

Ya i'm deff interested in JellyBean, just waiting til they get the camera and all running. I've had rooted phones and jailbroken iphones before, I like to be able to put a rom on it that works fully so i can stick with it for a while and not have to mess with it cept every couple months.
I had cyanogenmod on an older inspire i had, i liked it, think it was an older version though.
Deff gonna give the aospx a look

For future restores
For me, my contacts and calendar are saved via my gmail account. Upon restoring to factory settings, or installing a new custom rom, and setting my account up in the phone, all of this data is automatically restored. For apps and their settings, Titanium Backup has been the lifeline for me. It has saved a lot of time and effort. Check it out and see if you like it. There is a free and paid version (which I paid for the extra options and to support further updates) on the Market.
Custom ROMS are individually unique for user experience. No one can really tell you which one is best (well...we could but it would be our own personal bias based on our individual preferences). You need to keep trying them until you get one you like. As always mentioned, nandroid backups can be your best friend.

Rom Suggestion: Runny Droid 5.0
working great for me since the past 3 months..i had same issues as u had..but everything resolved by this rom...
So I flashed synergy today and so far everything is great except the fact that the wifi notifications are still present. Anyone running this ROM on verizon know how to fix this?
You will get the notification after install. It is supposed to go away after your first reboot.

I rebooted numerous times, still not working.
I don't know then. It worked for me. If it's something you absolutely can't stand wipe and reinstall or just wait for the next update that requires a wipe. Sorry I can't be more help

Ok, this is something I don't understand. I am loving the SynergyROM so far, and the stock ROM wasn't bad either. However, with the stock ROM, with WiFi off, it would still notify me when in range of a remembered network, and suggest connecting automatically. It still does this with the Synergy ROM, despite turning it off in settings or using the notification screen widget.
Is WiFi really OFF if it still somehow knows whenever you're in range of a remembered network?? It blows my mind that you can't really turn some of this crap off despite really wanting to. We have 4G where I live now (finally!!) and it's over FIVE TIMES as fast as any internet I can get at my house. STOP trying to connect to inferior wifi, hahaha!! Never thought I'd be complaining about this, but there you have it.
How do you really shut off the wifi? I couldn't even do it with the phone completely stock and unrooted.
