There is already a thread for US pre-orders so I thought I might start one for the UK.
The only place I have found so far is that Amazon.de have pre-orders for three versions and they will, of course, ship to the UK.
599€ (less than £500 at today's rates) for the 64Gb gold without dock
719€ for the 64Gb gold with dock
and 727.98€ for the grey 64Gb with dock.
As Amazon don't charge your card before shipping, I have pre-ordered the gold one without the dock as I am hopeful the TF201 dock will fit the TF700T. See my separate thread about this.
Please post any information you get about other sources.
EDIT: Just to add that if you order from Amazon.de with shipping to the UK, they adjust the price to account for the higher VAT rate in the UK.
thanks for these, i'd missed this! is there any indication as to when amazon.de will ship?
another possiblity for UK orders is komplett.ie , who claimed to be aiming to have the TF700T available, with international layout dock, by yesterday, so with some luck they may be in stock monday, then shipping to the UK could be done through postal forwarding at not to high a cost.

Not so far as I am aware. Often Amazon.de get this sort of stuff before the UK but, as they don't charge your card until they ship, you can cancel if you see a better or quicker source without any penalty.
Keep in mind: amazon.de sells the german version which has a qwertz-keyboard. I'm not sure about umlaute, but I guess the key dock has them, too.
Also, the power-supply would be for CEE7/16, which to my knowledge is not usable in UK.
I am currently looking at ordering one from the Netherlands, which should have US-international keyboard, but also CEE7/16

Do komplett.ie ship to the UK? When I looked at other komplett sites, they did not mention international shipping.

Good point but I plan on getting the dockless version so that should not be an issue. And I'm sure the good folks at XDA will enable me to put on the UK firmware pretty soon after release.

Can you explain, please? I thought Germany uses the same power system as in the UK (and also in Spain where we also stay frequently) with just a different plug. I bought my Samsung Galaxy S3 from Amazon.de and am not aware of a problem with the charger.

I was talking about the plug only. It's not that easy to find an adapter that goes "the other way round", most available sets are "local female, foreign male". To use a foreign power plug you will need "foreign female, local male" - if you know that and have access to the correct adapter, everything is fine.

Not yet, have only found komplett.nl, but they do not offer international shipping on their website. Have contacted them about it and am waiting for their response.
If you don't mind overpaying a bit, it looks like easynotebooks.de have a very few grey with dock and gold without dock that they will ship to the UK. They also sell through Amazon.de but it seems that you cannot get it shipped to the UK going via their Amazon store.
Total cost for the gold without dock comes to nearly 660€ with shipping! When Amazon have them, it will be about 612€ so you're definitely paying for being an early adopter.

Alternate.nl allows for international orders (in my case to Germany), plus they list the TF700T 64GB with Dock for pre-orders.
I had problems with their ordering-process and contacted their sales-team - they were really quick and my pre-order is placed with them now. Shipment will be 10,95 Euros vom NL to DE.
komplett.nl whom i contacted last weekend did not respond to me at all.
I ordered an standard one without dock from easynotebooks.de yesterday. The total cost was £570. They shipped UPS Standard same day and it should arrive here tomorrow :victory:

I wish to order Prime whenever it comes out instead of having to wait until next year until it is launched in Europe. Do any sellers in US ship internationally? I have checked Amazon and BestBuy and GameStop, but none of them ship internationally.
This means both the amethyst gray and champagne versions and with a keyboard dock (either separately or 2-in-1).
Please post information here if you have it available
(There still doesn't seem to be XDA forum for Prime?)
You also have the option of using a forwarder. They provide you with a US address and then re-ship the product to you for a fee. That fee is usually less than European customs fee so if they send it to you as a gift or sample you might very well come out ahead of the game.

If you do go down the route of buying a US Prime there is a thread on the UK kindle users forums (thread here) where they used (bundlebox) to have them delivered to the UK. Seemed expensive but for the guy in the above thread it worked a treat.

There are lots of them. for example:
US Global Mail
CTSI Logistics
Mail Forwarding
If you don't like any of these just do a Google search for "forward shipping"
I was thinking of buying Asus Transformer Prime form bhphotovideo.com, but 32Gb model with all shipping fees and taxes would cost 580 euros, when the same model plus dock from amazon.de is 599 euros.

Had a quick check and reckon it'll cost around an additional £110 to get it shipped to UK. This includes the import charges, VAT and BundleBox's admin fee. Assuming you get the tablet for $499 and it's only the tablet you ship over, then that comes to a total cost of around £430. I doubt the 32GB version in UK would be priced at more than £499 so in the very best case scenario, you'd be saving around £70. For the added hassle, delay and additional risk if there's any problems, it doesn't seem worth it but each to their own.
I think I'll get mine to come back with the next friend/colleague who comes back from the USA

Price should convert straight into pounds unless your bank adds a fee. But you will have to pay quite a bit for privately shipping the device and you may also have to pay customs which could set you back a fair bit.
I paid £288 and then my bank charged about £8-9 conversion fee i chose for my bank to convert the currency instead of paypal don't know if it works out cheaper but my guess is it is cheaper.

Paypal for my orders abroad have always done the conversion for free. But when paying £288 already, an extra 10 quid or so isnt a big deal I guess.

I live in Shanghai and bought a US version 32GB for 3,000 RMB. I am aware that I won't be able to use LTE in the future, but I wasn't prepared to go for a HK version for near enough the same price and only 16GB.
I bought online from Taobao - http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5.w4002-1856930535.34.1QlftW&id=35735211682 - A reputable seller who throws in a lot of freebies like screen protector, case, extra usb cable etc.
You will need a Chinese bank card to use though.
Otherwise I'm sure there are camera markets in Guangzhou where you can buy imported versions.

Good to see a date, although no clear when they ship - still stupid to launch a marketing campaign for something you could not even buy or pre order.

Release seems to be late in the UK for this?? You can always order from amazon.de using your same account info... Just a thought.
I am planning on getting one from amazon (US) and use it here in Europe.
Will there be any issues?
It's not like a phone where you have different bands - so I guess it should be no problem. But I also don't want to through 300 bucks out off the window.

The US version runs on a different firmware. Noticable differences are lack of different language support (OK if you're English or Spanish I guess?) and temperature is displayed in F and not C. Firmware updates may also be an issue...
Thanks.
Only English wouldn't be a problem. Fahrenheit could get annoying.
Is there a way to change firmware? Why should updates be an issue (US are always the first to get it)?
Cool thanks for the tip.

Benefit of going Samsung direct is if it really is as crap as I think then it will be getting returned.

Well, I personally have never seen an Asus phone in the wild, in the US. No major carriers sell them, as far as I know. It wouldn't surprise me at all if their projections were low. Maybe newegg got 10 phones, also expecting a lukewarm turnout.
I can't speak to Asus' presence in North America outside the US though. Maybe it's bigger in Mexico and Canada and Belize.
