In my 6200L, sometimes, when in turn by turn navigation, I get a weird stuttering video issue. I'll close Nav, run task manager and kill all processes and restart and its fine. But something is making the Nav screen stutter.
Any thoughts?

Hi,got a curious need.I watch some video lectures on my PL720 PDA using TCPMP.A lot of them can be listened to without necessarily looking at the screen, which would be ideal when walking, jogging dozing etc. However thats where the problem lies therein. I have tried a number of different screen locks such as MortSaver,ScreenGuard,DeviceLock etc and unless I am missing something, its not working as required. If the video/TCPMP is running and the screen lock is activated, the TCPMP player pauses ie stops playing. Is there any program or hack I can use that would lock the screen, preferably blank it (thereby saving battery power) but let the TCPMP player/audio play in the background? Would appreciate any help on this as it being in my pocket always causes touchscreen activation. Thanx all.
Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life, but strangely even after an extensive search I have not found a solution.
All the locks mentioned turn the GPS off, and I'm using satnav in my pocket when riding a bike. I assume it's the same problem as dabs1 had/has.
OK, this is a piece of precious info for some.
After a few days of thorough searching and trying countless locks, there is one that actually does the thing. It's Deltalock. Strangely. There is an option 'blank screen' or something, it locks the keys as well actually.
The whole point is that, unlike all the other applications I've tried, when you assign Deltalock to a hardware button, when you start it, it does not disturb the application that is currently running. So - for example - it does not close/minimize the Tomtom and does not turn the GPS off.
I'm wondering if this is because of my device (HTC Titan) or because of WM6... all I know is that I never had this happen before!
Basically, I'll pull out my phone sometimes and find that its turned on by itself, and has been sitting with the dim idle backlight on.
I noticed it can be caused by several things but the 2 main ones I've seen is:
1) when the phone switches to/from roaming, it wakes up
2) when using A2DP controls (AVRCP), it wakes up.
I've been using workarounds to keep the backlight off for now (set the phone to roam only, or carrier-only, so it won't be switching in/out of roam, and use core player or just remember to toggle the screen off everytime I use a media AVRCP control), but there has got to be a better way to keep the darned screen off until I press power!
Anyone have any suggestions? This is really an unexpected annoyance as it eats up my battery quickly not knowing its on...
I had a similar issue with whenever I received an email and didnt shut off the device manually. What I eventually ended up doing was setting the device to automagically lock when it was powered off, and this seemed to solve the issue. I'm not sure however if this will fix it in your case because locking it may interfere with AVRCP controls working.
After a week or so with the Captivate, one thing that bugs me is that when putting google maps in the background by pressing the home key-in other words, trying to multitask...it stops the gps. When going back to maps it has to regain a lock again..no small task for the captivate. Is there any way to "force" the app not to hibernate when in the background? This also happens if the backlight goes out. Very poor rendition of multitasking, unless I'm missing something
It is done so to conserv battery power. It is by design of GMaps. Keep a satellite lock consumes a lot of juice. Since you're not even look at the map when it is in the background or screen turns off, why waste your battery juice?
Some apps, like Google's My Track app will keep satellite lock on when it is recording your track even if you put the app to background or turn the screen off. That makes sense.
If the GPS on Captivate works properly, it should take no more than 10 seconds to re-accquire the lock. No big deal for other normal working Android phones.
Also, if you use the Navigation feature of Google Maps, it'll continue tracking you with the screen off.
I usually only use Maps to look for things, then I'll use Navigation if I'm actually using it for directions.
If you have the get position test app in LBSTestMode running in the background first before you run maps, it will keep the GPS locked on. I have a shortcut to open LBSTestMode.

copilot live is only $5 through the market, it will keep the GPS running in the background, also allows you to download maps per region, so no churning through dataplans... its nice, a little buggy getting it setup... but tracks perfectly on my froyo captivate
Tracker Booster keeps the gps running in the background, as does mytracks and LBStestmode, as was mentioned

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Makes sense I suppose..what is the "get position test app in LBStestmode"? Sorry for the newb question
I am using a Galaxy Note 2, running a stock 4.4.2 ROM. My phone is rooted, and I do have the xposed framework installed.
I am having a huge issue with the Audible app. It's constantly pausing.
When I am in the app, with the screen turned on, rotating the phone causes the app pause every single time.
Locking the phone causes the app to pause most of the times.
When driving, it seems to pause randomly, but it might be tied to changing of the network, such as leaving the range of my Wi-Fi and connecting to 4G. The reason I say that is because it happens most often near my house.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is the the app's fault, or my phone's fault?
Hi all, not sure if this is maybe just my unit that is having this problem, but whenever I set my default nav to Sygic, Waze or google maps, and I turn the car off and then come back the 3 screens that are supposed to be nav, speed and music, the nav screen is just blank. I need to open the nav app and then it will show there. It happens every time I turn the car off. I've tried to mark those apps as stay on when in sleep but it doesn't help.
