I remember back in the days, when the phones actually were used for phone calls and maybe couple of texts. I'm not that old school, at least at she 30, I still consider myself pretty young. Growing up, racing cars was my passion. After becoming an adult, getting married and having kids, everything changed for me. Couldn't spend the amount of cash I used to on cars. So I decided to sell my car. And with having experience only on couple flip phones, including the EXE, I decided to order a blackberry Curve 8330. I stated getting interest in the tweaking and messing with it. Updating firmwares was about the most exciting thing I was doing back them. One day I walked in a radio shack store, and there it was, the HTC HD2. Immediately feel in love with the big screen and design. It was love at first sight. Being a windows phone didn't matter at the time, since I was not familiar with the Android world, so I didn't know better. Then, came across XDA, and everything changed. Started reading about Android and the goodies that it had, and found out that there was a way to boot Android on my device from the as card. Had the first taste, and never looked back. Currently own a Samsung galaxy Note, running ICS 4.0.4, and I'm loving it.
That's the way I was introduced to this amazing world, with all this amazing people, willing to sacrifice time with the family and restless nights cooking awesome software for people that they not even know, and many times aren't even grateful of their job. Thanks Android, for giving me a great opportunity of interacting with awesome and brilliant people. And grateful for this great hobby.
for me it was the HTC G1, Edge speed on At&t was awful but I really loved the phone

I've had a cellular phone since before cellular was available to the public (worked for an equipment mfg and was part of the field trials). Since then, I've had a butt load of phones. My first smart phone was Windows CE, had several WIndows Mobile phones after that. Then came the Dell Streak - fell in love with Android and will never go to anything else. Current phone is the GNote, just wish it would get ICS soon.
HTC Hero, sense was an awful experience. Everything about that phone was laggy but i loved the design of it.
HTC g2 i always bragged on how much the little device Could do

original HTC EVO Here only had it a short time though Play store wasnt what it is today I went back to iPhone till the note came out now i'm sold
June 2010 I got the Motorola backflip I feel in love with Android but after the first 6 months the processor at 528 mhz was unbearably slow. The great devs created cm7 for it which just barley made it bearable to wait until February when my contract was up. I had no problems moving from the 3.1in screen to the 5.2 in screen on the note. I still think having the keyboard on the back than flipping backwards is the best design for a phone with a keyboard.
My first Android device was the Mytouch 3g Slide. I absolutely loved that phone. I rooted it and threw CM on it and the phone was blazing. Later that same year, I went and purchased my first vanilla Android device, the HTC G2. Never thought about getting a non vanilla Android since.

Motorola Backflip.
It was a pretty terrible phone, but my first smartphone with a data plan.
Ive had my fare share of phone over the years. My Signature below shows all of them in order....I loved WM phones and being able to flash all the different roms that everyone on XDA made for them. So of course once I could finally got an android that would work on att I switched over and loved it ever since! The TMobile HD2 was my switch over phone...running both WM and android...it was nice having WM for daily use and Android to start playing with and use to so once the HTC Aria came out I made the full switch to android.
My first was a blackberry curve, I didn't do anything to it and didn't know much about phones at that time. Then I upgraded to the galaxy s captivate. with XDA's help I learned how to customize it the way I wanted! I retired my captivate for the note and I love this phone, and am grateful for all the devs on here to help me customize this beast.

Yeah same here. I started with the HTC 8125 and Tilt 2(winmo). Then came across the Dell Streak when the Tilt 2 was discontinued for sale. Now a note. Love Android!

The Dell Streak. I was won over by the 5" display. Love that phone and still have it as my backup device. The Note was the only viable sucessor to the Streak. Loving the Note now!
Started with G1 as my first android phone. I thought it was awesome phone at that time. But started playing with all the rooting and changing roms is with my fav Nexus One. That phone was one of my favorite phones ever.

Started smartphones with the HTC dash running winmo on TMobile. Then iPhone 3g. Got bored of that after a year, pounced on the Captivate and never looked back. From the captivate I got the infuse and now my note. Long live Android. =]

I've had this phone since it came out in November and usually me being the tech whore that I am would get bored really quick and lust for the next big thing. As of now, I'm still loving this phone. I've rooted, on CM7, configured my screens the way I like it and sometimes I notice me touching and holding the phone just for the sake of it. Could this finally be love?? I feel like I just found a great girl and stopped going out trying to get with club chicks. lol!
Even when I go to the tech sites and checking out the new phones coming out in Barcelona, I'm like meh, I got a good "girl" at home, I'm not lusting after them. Damn, I must be getting old! hahahaha!
Yeah I said the same thing. Why did sense have so many features from espresso with the sliding bars and such only phone I even consider was the desire s cause it reminded me of the nexus one.

i share the same love as u guys. it's simple, the device meets our needs for an internet phone, and more, once rooted. how can u not fall in love with it? if u get a fully functional one, i mean.
I love this phone too! No other phone can compare yet. I'm like you, I always go for the newest toy but I've been holding on. However, the Optimus 2x might win me over.
Normally I am looking for a new phone by now (always like the latest tech) but not so much with this phone. It might take the next mytouch to get me away from my current one. I've said this many times, this phone just works.
Same here, I've changed phones a lot recently, jumping on the newest one out. At this point though, I'm acknowledging more that this phone can do pretty much everything the newest ones out can do.
About dual cores, I say "Eh.." Higher megapixel camera? Eh.. NFC? That won't be useful until maybe late this year.
Until something groundbreaking comes out that this phone can't do or do well, I'm sticking with it.
Yeah, this phone is rockin'. Even a lot of the newer phones being announced are still below spec compared to this phone - even more so when rooted, devoid of bloat, and OCed. It'll probably take a year before this thing is made "obsolete." This and the HTC Thunderbolt are the most exciting phones right now IMO.
agreed. im so happy i got to own a good one in the end. it freakin flyes.
i love my phone....
I agree 100%. My wife often tells me I'm cheating on her with my phone, my on reply is, "Sorry babe it's the other way around, I'm cheating on my phone with you." Drives her nuts. I gave her my Vibrant and traded my HD7 to get the myTouch, and I'm not getting rid of "her" anytime soon...

id say the only kewl feature was having xbox live on it and being able to play games and unlock achievements....
the OS is nice and smooth but just plain boring for me......i wanted to get rid of the phone so bad that i traded the phone for a brand new MT4G and 100 cash....

As a hd7/windows phone 7 user, i say go for it
it is a great phone and much more than 2 screens and you will love the experience with it vs android
and the social networking aspect of wp7 is definitely much better then what android has to offer(unless u get a blur device)
most ppl saying no to the hd7 are biased towards android
and if it's too big, that's why they have different variations of phones

I was holding out getting the mt4g for a long time because I knew there was something better right around the corner (isn't there aways something right around the corner hah). Once I heard the rumors of the optimus 2x coming to tmobile, u knew u was right to wait. But then tmobile ran the free mt4g promotion last week. It was too good a deal to pass up, so I jumped on it. No regrets.

Win7 Phone OS is just plain boring to me coming from android there's no customization you can actually do maybe if we give the OS a year or so they'll be able to step it up and listen to the community. I get the feeling Win7 users are mostly coming from BBs.
Hmmmmmm, has anyone upgraded from a HD2?
I had a HD7 and it's just sad. No ability to customze anything.
So, I kept my HD2. I install ROMs as often as I change clothes. But, it is getting old.
I really want a Robot native device that performs well and has 4G capability.
The wife has a Vibrant and holly crap. That thing is the bigest pile of crap. I feel bad that I got it for her. It's slow, the XDA Support sucks since no one really seems to like it.
I been seeing the MyTouch 4g and it seems intersting.
Thoughts?

I have a solution for the problem. Get married, buy your wife an iPhone 4 and you can have an Inspire. It works for me. (You could also buy an iPad on ebay to itch your iOS scratch, there is a fire sale going on on those things right now.)
I have just passed my 30 day window to return the Inspire and I couldn't be any happier. This phone is great. I have never had a resetting problem but then again I have not rooted my phone yet, I am still waiting for the process and ROMS for this phone to mature a bit.
Any time I pick up my wife's iPhone I feel like it is a toy; it is just so small. It is a good phone if you want to push a button and have something work, if you are a tinkerer you should have stuck with Android.
come back to the inspire, it may have been a bad piece of hardware and just needed to be exchanged. Happened with my wife's Aria, couldn't get any cell connection. We ordered it online but the ATT operator said we could take it in to any corporate ATT store. She did, they checked for a bad SIM, nope, so they exchanged the phone and tested it on the spot, works fine.
The ROM development has been fast so far, but I'm waiting for it to mature too. I played with a Fuze and different android roms for almost two years but the process for the Inspire is so different. Been using my Inspire since the day they hit the stores, stock rom for now...
yeah i am deff a tinker with the OS, so i think i might have to come back
In the last year I've had a ton of phones (I'm the head of our IT department so I get to "evaluate" smartphones for use within the organization) and the Inspire is by far the favorite I have EVER used.
Just for comparison sake I've had: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, Blackberry Bold 9700, Blackberry Torch, Samsung Captivate, HTC Aria, Samsung Focus, Motorola Atrix (still have), Dell Streak, Motorola Droid 2 Global, Blackberry Storm 1 and 2, and finally the Inspire.
Even though I haven't rooted the phone yet (plan to in the next day or say) this device is easily the best I have ever used and I couldn't be happier.
I came from an i4 and let my wife have it. I use her phone on occasion and I can't beleive how boring it is. If you love IOS so much. Root and rom with MIUI. I flashed it last night and it's freaking cool!!! So much like IOS! I went back to core droid as it didn't seem as peppy but it was still more peppy that my I4 was the day I got it.

Yup iOS is polished and does what it does well, but it's BORING! It's hardly changed at all since the first iPhone.

I can ditto a majority of what was mentioned here. I've had more smartphone in the past two years, I've honestly lost track. The inspire to me is by far my favorite and I haven't even tinkered yet. Actually love the phone stock, but that's my preference.
So, would you be making a good choice coming back to the inspire? Ultimately that's a decision only you can make.
As for the issue you experienced with your first inspire, it certainly doesn't sound like a typical experience.

Switched from the i4, won't look back at all. I haven't even rooted my phone yet and I believe it is a better phone and more fun to operate. I like the i4, but it does get repetative very fast. I don't regret it at all, and will probably make it even more concrete once I get it rooted. I say switch back but that's just me.
Had friends jailbreak their iphone 4s out of jealousy of the custom roms on my old captivate lol. and yet they still tell me how far superior ios lol

What is your phone history like? If you're on this forum you probably have a pretty exstensive collection of phones. I just came from an iphone 3g,which I hated after the novelty wore off. I have had both at&ts blackberry holds(9000,9700). I would have to say the worst phone I have had is an lg vu, the resistive touch screen on that thing was garbage. The inspire is by far the best phone I have had.
So I ask what phones have you had and which ones did you like and hate?

Wow. A walk down memory lane.
My first "smart" phone was the LG Incite. Terrible phone but it's where I learned about roms and doing fun stuff.
Next was the HTC Pure. Great phone for the time. Can't believe how tiny it is now. Because of the great devs on XDA this phone was also my first experience with Android.
Then I got the Samsung Captivate. I bought it off ebay and didn't know about the random shutdowns at the time. I used it for two months before I broke down and renewed my contract with ATT and came away with the Inspire.
HTC has the best built quality. Both of the HTC phones I've owned are solid. I think I've found a home.

1st phone was a Nokia somthin or other. Had an antenea you pulled up. Looked like a walkie talkie.
2nd phone was a Samsung Alias flip hinge. Looked cool, was junk.
3rd phone was a Nokia Music phone. It was lame. Looked like a small game boy.
Only had a 126meg card for holding music....All proprietary equip....
4th phone was a Blackberry Pearl. I loved that phone.
5th Phone was an HTC Kaiser
6th Phone was an Iphone 3g.
And today I have the inspire.
RAZR
iPhone
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
HTC Inspire.
I am totally impressed with the build quality and UI of HTC. If AT&T wouldn't have been stupid and limited the Amazon App store I would probably still be stock. Thanks to them for opening my eyes to the wonderful world of Rooting. Thanks to everybody on XDA for helping me through it!
Coming from iPhone has been interesting. I'm not an Apple hater, and I think the iPhone is a solid choice, but I like to be able to tinker, and the options with Android is limitless.
My first smart phone was the LG Incite an absolute piece of garbage if it wasn't for the buggy software to the hardware defects.
Then i started my love affair with Blackberry first was my Curve 8310 one of the most reliable phones i have ever owned still works like a charm today. Then i got a Blackberry Storm solid phone still works well although the stock software is yet to be desired.
Next i bought a Captivate. Overall really good phone despite is drawbacks. Love the development community for the Cappy. Turned an otherwise good phone into a really good phone.
and last but not least my Inspire 4G. Haven't had it long but one thing i do like is the build quality. It's a nice looking solid built phone.
LG Incite was my first as well (not including all the non smartphones). I don't have the bad feelings about it though like most seem to have. It was what it was... an entry level windows mobile phone. With the right rom and tweaks, it worked fine for me.
Next, the HTC Pure. Another good windows mobile phone and like all windows mobile phones, took a lot of tweaking to get working well. Tried Android on it but never did care for it. Actually turned me off of Android because of it.
And then came the Inspire. I actually wasn't even paying attention to what was coming out to Att. After they had the captivate (which I almost got but unluckily, or luckily, had some expenses come up that prevented me from getting it), I just stopped looking to upgrade. Well... some ad or something popped up while on the net at work one day and the next day I was walking out of an Att store with the Inspire. 1 week later, after some Android 101.. I was rooted with the hack kit and couldn't be happier. Finally got a radio that gets me a good signal (that was a bit frightening when I first got it) and it is sooo freakin solid now. Absolutely no issues.

My first smartphone was a Blackjack II: I loved it . I don't remember exactly what order this happened, but here are my past smartphone devices:
Blackjack II
Motorola Q9m
iPhone 3GS
Samsung Jack
Blackberry Bold 9700 (loved it, may actually grab a 9780 )
Samsung Captivate
Motorola Atrix
Blackberry Pearl 8110
Samsung Focus
HTC Tilt II
HTC Inspire (Current Device)
I am only going to post smartphones, because frankly, it really didn't matter what kind of phone it was before smartphones... you either had a flip phone or a non flip phone.
HTC Tilt I
Blackberry Bold 9000
Blackberry Bold 9700
Samsung Captivate
Out of those, not that the Tilt was a bad phone in its day, but I liked that one the least out of all of them. It was a first generation touchscreen smartphone. I liked that the screen tilted and loved the qwerty keyboard, but that was about it. The phone was a brick, and it got annoying that you had to use the stylus for almost everything. And of course, it had Windows Mobile 5 or 6. Don't remember which one. Loved the Blackberrys, but unfortunetly, Blackberry fell behind in smartphone technology, which is why I jumped ship to Android.
My last phone was the Epix. Overall it was a well built phone, but my messing around with the software and drooping it a few times led to my favorite error message ever. All it said was "Phone: fail" it was at that point I decided it was time for an upgrade.

Worst
I've had two of the most horrendous phones ever cursed on the world, the Palm Treo 680 (unlocked) and the Blackberry Pearl Flip. I truly believe the Treo 680 helped kill Palm. It was a $400 waste of money down the toilet. Always freezing, always cutting out on calls, always crashing. My brother and I bought one each at the same time...well...within a weeks time...and they both did the same thing.
Then there was the BB Pearl Flip. Complete POS, to put it super mildly. The UI was horrendous, the battery life got to the point where it lasted less than a day in standby mode with no wireless on except the cell radio....and completely unused. Changed out the battery for a new one and made no difference. It was so bad I swore never to look at Blackberrys again.
Best
The best phone I ever acquired, and still lovingly have, is the T-Mobile US HTC HD2. It has been nothing short of purely outstanding. I can use any ROM coded for it and the fun factor is over the roof. Super reliable and trouble-free.
My current favorite phone, though, is the Samsung Focus. I **** you not, the Focus has grown on me daily. The style seems to get more appealing everyday of owning it. I love looking at it and it feels so nice to hold. The slenderness is superb. Since the NoDo/firmware update, WP7 has been the best mobile OS I ever had the good fortune to use.
But my HTC Inspire continues to impress me. Such a well-built phone and Android with HTC Sense 2.0 is so smooth. I've tried other launchers with it but I come back to Sense because the smoothness and reliability just can't be beat.
Then there is my iPhone 4. I began my iPhone love with the purchase of an original first gen iPhone not long after they launched. It was such a relief finally having something reliable and usable. I came from the friggin Palm Treo 680 and back in those days...before the iPhone existed...there was nothing even remotely as good as the iPhone showed to be. When the iPhone launched, it was like a dramatic relief from the super-crappy offerings available and shoved down our throats. ...speaking only of smartphones. I so completely loved the iPhone experience from day 1.
Now I have an iPhone 4 and can't believe how wonderful this little piece of artwork is. The build quality is second to none. The elegance is over-flowing. The reliability is pure and the performance is the best there is. My iPhone 4 is and will always be my main phone. I made the mistake of leaving home without it one time and regretted it. I decided I wanted to take my Inspire with me and leave the iPhone at home. It happened that I needed to use my downloaded compass and also the Google maps and neither one of those functions worked for me. I was so glad I had a sense of the direction because if I had relied on the compass...the maps wouldn't even display...we would have been lost. That was the first and last time I will leave home without my iPhone. I will have a minimum of 2 phones with me and my iPhone 4 will be one.

Vivid disappointed me, and inspire is still quite a capable device , I think I will hold onto to it..

I get bored with phones very easily but once i got my Inspire i wanted to keep it for more than a month or 2 (which was the shelf life for a phone to me for a long time) So i rooted it to keep me busy/interested, and when i get bored i dive deeper into the root to make it better. But im at a point now where i dont know enough to go much further, and the onlyfriends i have that are into phones like i am are through here. So its hard to actually be taught anything. So i really want a new phone but not sure which direction i should go, or if i should hold out till the new batch of phones is out. In short, why cant i be satisfied with a phone nfor more than a few months?
Nope i wanna stick around until a while. The inspire is a great device

I will stick with it because I am on a contract and the phone is quite capable. And new phones come daily so if you sell inspire for dual core phone then quad core will come soon

I've found the Inspire to be one of the best phones I've ever owned. I think I'd only put the G1 above it in terms of phones I loved owning. The Inspire has given me 0 problems, has tons of dev support and is still very fast/snappy to use.
Not tired of it at all. I do lust for the Galaxy Nexus or the Razr while laying in bed at night...but I feel bad about it in the morning.

Lol to this
Also, I do find myself getting bored with it easily. Definitely an amazing device, but damn that Galaxy Nexus is tempting. If only it had the 8MP camera!
I actually really like my Inspire still, It's still a very capable device. I am going to be due for an upgrade in the next few months and i am going to be holding on to this phone i think for a while. Till something really catches my eye, because i really want to get another HTC device. The galaxy nexus looks sweet but im not a fan of Samsung's use of so much plastic on their phones.
My inspire makes me pancakes for breakfast every morning. I'll probably keep it until I'm tired of pancakes or my pants don't fit anymore.

That's what's so great about Android and being rooted. Get bored, flash a new ROM. Voila, new phone
No way! I love my Inspire still, it's a great phone, everything is really smooth with it right now. I'll probably hang on to it for another 18 months till i have another upgrade.
I really like my Inspire. I can not find a reason to upgrade. Nothing else out does anything different. I need a new Experiance before I will upgrade again. (or my contract is up). I had a Windows phone and modded the hell out of it and then, I went Iphone and modded it to death, and then andriod. Modded to death. See my pattern, each was a new experience. I will need a reason to leave my phone before I will.
meh...
After having issues with the battery life, I'm ready to upgrade to something with a larger battery & better screen. I'm not really hating on the phone, just disappointed with it.
Next phone I buy will be at cost, since I picked it up for $100 with a new contract.
I'm not tired of it (took 2 months only) but maybe if a little disappointed, I was recently at a concert and record some songs but my disappointment came into play, pesimo sound seemed pfffff q was in a machine room, something my old iphone that never happened to me, but good either me every day I live concerts as he remains so until q together for my new iphone 4s.
I have to say I like it and can deal with the few minor probs like battery life until the edge is released or equal to it. Sense I buy all my phones at cost I am willing to wait and see the next Gen device and right now everything else is just too weak to justify upgrading yet
So far I'm lovin' it. While this IS my first smartphone, I'd have to say I'm impressed overall with the phone. One thing bugs me though. I don't take a lot of pictures, but when I do, I like to not have to set my whitebalance to fluorescent every time I want to take a low light picture with my flash... I kinda wish the coders had implemented where if the camera sees low light, and decides to use the flash, to just set the whitebalance to fluorescent. Ahh the little things.
Overall I like the build quality, for ME it's been a solid phone, and I love modding it. Endless entertainment!
i've had mine for a couple months and it's the best phone i've ever owned and im happy with it but honestly im bored. Too many sense rom's are the same and CM7 just dosen't interest me anymore and i've been using MIUI for the last couple weeks but i'm getting to the point where i can't really expand it that much more. I'm going to try to convince my dad (im only 14) to kick my brother off of our family plan and make him go to a gophone plan as he's 19 and dosen't use his phone much and then pay the ETF and switch to verizon, with christmas coming up i think he'll do it but i'll just have to wait
Tired of it? Heck no! This is my fifth Android device and I love it. To me nothing else out at the moment is compelling enough to switch. I love the actual build quality of the phone. Too many other phones just have too much plastic on them and they feel cheap. This phone is solid. Its plenty fast and well supported in the community. My contract is up in August of 2012 so if it doesn't get bricked before then, that is what I will be using. I look forward to see the offerings then.
I've had the inspire since launch day and it has lived up to the billing so far. There's really nothing you can't do with this phone. I live in Houston which has LTE but I'm working in Odessa right now so there's no need for me to jump into an LTE device just yet. They barely have hspa+ rolled out down here. I'll probably wait until next year for the new slate of devices, when att broadens their LTE footprints.
For now I'm enjoying my inspire

I love my inspire but like others am bored of the same old roms. Wanted the vivid but with the tegra 3 quad core already in the new transformer 2 tablet I think I might wait. And Samsung I believe has a phone called the flex that is supposed to come out q2 2012 with a flexible screen and body I think there are too many better phones in the near future to justify using my upgrade now and waiting two more years to get something better. Girl I work with just ordered the vivid so i will just look at it when she gets it and go from there

That I'm now buying an iPhone 5. I was an original iPhone guy, but went when they went glass to the Aria...then the Inspire...and the Inspire is quite possibly the worst phone ever. No ROMs can help it. Complete garbage. Anyone else done with Android or jumping ship over the Inspire's terribleness?
I might be able to see why you would show discontent with the Inspire. I personally think its the battery life, weight, and lack of front camera that brings it down. Although I've played with iPhones in the past, and I can't consider this this being close the worst phone. I can still make it last for a day with above moderate usage, and have grown accustomed to the weight. More than enough to make me satisfy the whole contract, which has about half a year longer. Can you go a bit more detailed in why you hate it?
it's funny I was just telling my boy the other day how this is best phone I've ever had! 2 years and still going strong...i like the weight.
I couldn't agree any more with you DPLOY. I love this phone. It doesn't feel flimsy, has plenty of processing speed and does pretty much anything you could want. That and I like playing with different ROMs all of the time.

Haven't you had this phone since it came out basically? I don't believe you for a second

It's the best phone I've ever had. Like the construction, the way it feels in my hand and the heft. When I drop it in the cargo pocket on my pants I keep having to check and make sure it's there, so the weight can't be that bad. I did my homework before I got it and knew the battery was on the small side, so I'm not going to complain that I have to plug it in once or twice a day.
And ROMs? Kept it on stock Sense for a couple of months, then rooted and flashed CM7. Since then I've gone to Ice Cold Sandwich and am now running JellyTime. Each one has been better than the last. And my ancient single-core Inspire is still faster, on most tasks, than my friends 4S's. Every time one of them shows me some neato thing on their iPhone I'm reminded again how thoroughly unimpressed I am with Apple's products. It's not that they're bad phones, they're just not all that impressive.
But if my Inspire WAS the worst phone ever, if it went nuts and ate all my personal info, sent all my contacts an F U text message and then caught fire and exploded in my pants pocket it would not be enough to make me send any of my money to Cupertino. Their product is nice, if a little bland, but their business practices are abhorrent.
If I ever get tired of Android (and after a couple of weeks on Jelly Bean I don't see that happening any time soon), Windows 7 is a darn nice OS. And Windows 8 looks even better.
But hey, if you hate it that much, send it to me. One of my boys would be happy to have it.
IMO, the Inspire was the best phone ive ever owned also. I started off with the very first iphone, then the 3g, 3gs, then 4. Basically ive owned every iphone out. Then i decided to try android and fell in love. Started with the captivate, had an atrix, then went to the inspire. I tried other phones also like the infuse, galaxy s2, vivid, and skyrocket and eventually ended up going back to the inspire. This phone runs perfect (smoothness, performance, and battery life) with the right rom, kernel, and radio set up. Only if the inspire had a FFC, thats the only thing the phone lacks..

You just have to know what your doing. The iPhone is made for your type so it will probably be the better choice for you. Android is made for people that want to be able to decide what their phone can or can't do, and have the tech knowledge to achieve it. IPhone is garbage and apple is a terrible company that stifles innovation. Iphones only good purpose is to make smart phones accessible to my grandma.

The iphone is basically a simple phone. I believe that the hype behind it is just because the apple name. Coming from the experience of being both iphone and Android owner there is so much more I can do with my android that I could not do with the apple. So in my opinion the apple is just an overpriced useless piece of crap, a suped up ipod thats all. I am completely amazed with my Inspire.
Terrible Phone??? Really?
The Inspire is a terrible phone??? Yet no comments on what made it terrible. Aside from the fact that HTC decided to give the phone a slightly inadequate battery, the phone has been great. For a single core it has been great. Once I got it rooted it was an excellent phone. I love the fact that I have so many options for this phone. If I want apps, music, or videos I can download direct, get from the market, or get from outside sources. With apple you have one choice...itunes...which I can't stand.
Calm down folks. I think we've been had.

I think you're right. I've seen that guy in the inspire forums over a year ago. I remember his avatar, unless someone else is using it.

Me too I know he had a thread (maybe a radio collection thread?) so it couldn't have been that bad.

Good luck with your one key Iphone now I don't know what Rom u are using but my inspire blows away most dual core phones. You have to remember the inspire is great for what it is a single core phone. I much rather have my HTC inspire then that stupid iPhone

Inspire with ICS... a sight for sore eyes. It's a great little phone when you get all of the bloat off of it. I've had mine for two years and now I'm giving it to my girlfriend to replace her iPhone because she's done with Apple and it's lockdown on everything you pay for. I've personally had four different ROMs on it and each had pros and cons. They've all been top notch though... ICS has been the best easily by far (but that probably has something to do with being an completely different operating system than Gingerbread).

You're right... typo!
IMO, one of the best single core phones ever. The amount of ram this phone has. I run Gingerbeast and have a little over 400mb free. This was my first Android, coming from the iPhone 3GS and a 4. I'm never looking back. I've had this baby since release and still love it!
Go enjoy your new toy phone.
