[Q] HTC Sensation unlocked, s-on, Bootloop!!! - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have a big problem with my HTC Sensation.
I made it with this guide. Now in the Bootloader it stands that it is unlocked but s-on, i don't know if that is right. After this i flashed cyanogen-mod 9 on it. And then i were in a bootloop.
Can anyone help me please with this problem?
Thanks.

Go into recovery and wipe data factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. If it not helps: wipe everything (included system etc) and reflash the rom

I tried this but it doesnt work. Because of s-on i think it didn't work.

help, i faced the same problem,.. i already tried flashing the boot.img using fastboot, still not solve,..

So your boot loader is unlocked with security on... Are you coming from android 2.3? Did you super cid? With security on you cannot flash custom rom...

Same problem
I have the exact same problem but with Cyanogenmod 10. Did you solve this?

Can you provide more detail
The rom you have installed
The firmware you have
The radio you have
After this I might be able to help you because right now I'm not sure what the problem can be

factory reset is not recommended on custom roms. if you want a fresh install just wipe everything and flash the rom again.

Search it, there's plenty of guides that say how to wipe.
Found it. Actually I have the same issue. After I flashed the new ROM, the first reboot was very long and stuck and black background with Android in the middle of the screen. I don't know what to do next.
flash recovery.
What do you mean?

[Q] [q] help me please, phone stuck

Hello Everyone
First of all i would like to thank all of the community members for their continious help and support. I am having the following problem with my phone [HTC SENSATION - HBOT -1.27.1100, RADIO -11.24A..., please have a look and let me have your suggestions as how to rectify it to get my phone back to me ---
- Viper rom 1.35 was installed for quite a long time, it was working fine.
-i wanted to try a new rom so as usual i made nanodrop and tried to flash a new rom x,y,z////.
-everything seemed fine, i didn’t liked the rom after flashing so i went back to 4ext backup and opted to restore....a usual process....
-after restore, what i did is, after restore is completed i went to wipe cache/delvik cache and cleared it. and then i pressed reboot........
---not everything screwed after that....,my phone is stuck at the boot screen......
tried again and again....., i then flashed viper1.35 fresh> reboot> same problem> screen stuck on boot
- i though maybe this is due to error in the firmware so in flashed the latest PGM.... firmware 3.33 i guess> then full wipe> flashed new rom----same result
- i tried 5 other rom types which use to work fine and smooth before that....but everything is stuck on boot screen.....
I couldn’t figure it out whats the problem...>>>>??????/
any guesses and solutions

Because you want to apply a stock ROM you first need to relock the hboot, restoring it as if it was never tampered with. To do this look it up. (I'm still a noob to xda forums so I can't provide an outside link... It's easy though)
After you've relocked your phone, simply usb it to your pc and run the RUU file as exe.
Had to do this once when i bricked my phone XD.
Good luck!

But you also have to flash stock recovery and lock bootloader before running the ruu
He doesnt need to flash stock recovery. RUU already have it.
Just re-lock bootloader.

[Q] bootloop htc sensation XE, need Help!

I have HTC Sensation XE and a few days ago, i was just tried to install a Custom Rom by CM10. I found a video on Youtube that there only three steps to do that (Flashing a Custom Rom with S-ON)!
1. Unlock Bootloader (and I've done!)
2. Install Recovery (CWM Recovery Touch)
3. Flash the Custom ROM
And I tried that all...
Everything looks fine, from the moment i install the Recovery and then the Custom Rom, but its stuck on the HTC Logo. Power Off, and then Stuck on HTC Logo again, and again... It never stopped! And the backdoor just getting HOT!
I tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache and all the things i used to be doing when i flash a Rom. But the problem still exist.
Then I flash the Stock Rom with this Recovery (Since I forgot to make a back up system), and its fine, although the wifi isn't working!
Then i searching somewhere and found that the Recovery is 4EXT, and the I flashed the 4EXT Recovery and its succeed.
Then I tried to Flash the Custom ROM again, but I found the same problem, another bootloop.
I tried everything i could find in here, but it's nothing...
It's about 2 days and i can't do anything with my Sensation XE.
All i know about my HTC Status is, S-ON, Unlocked and the HBOOT 1.29.0000
is there any easy to understand way to make My Sensation XE Back?
Please Help...
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
In 4 EXT ,did you enable "Smartflash" just before flashing the ROM ?
For more information ,look HERE
Then
Don't know if this works with Hboot 1.29, but you could try to relock Hboot and flash the appropriate RUU for your device. Then you can start again.:good:
Edit: I just made a quick post on how I solved a similar problem here.
Good luck.

What happened when you locked the hboot?
What happened when you ran the RUU?
Is your device recognized by adb, fastboot, both or neither?

At least your phone is working again. :highfive:
But of course you can flash custom ROMs.
If you want to stay S-ON, you will have to unlock the hboot again and then I suggest using this guide.
Or you could read every sticky in this forum before doing anything else and then follow one of the S-OFF guides like this one, which is what I'm going to do. :good:
Happy hacking.

Hi,
The asskicker guide will work on both 1.27 and 1.29 hboot.
And it is the best guide if you stay s-on.

But read everything about flashing ROMs with S-ON and updating your radio first.

What happens if you go to recovery trough bootloader or just reflash 4ext latest recovery and format everything except sd card than enable smartflash and flash Rom ,if then doesn't boot up just flash boot img from pc via fastboot and you're done

I also have the same problem as the OP. I tried wiping all but sd, enabling smartflash, and reinstalling the rom from sd card. The phone still boots up only to htc logo. I do not have s-off, but I'm rooted and bootloader is unlocked.
