Done with the CMW
How do I root it now.
Steps?
There is a guide sticky in the development forum.
Once you flash a custom rom you should have root.
If you want stock with root well there was no need to unlock and flash a recovery.you could have just used one of the other root methods and keep your warranty and have root but you can still just root the stock rom.

Pretty well documented in the above development thread.

I believe that the face unlock feature is apart of ICS but I can't seem to get it to show up in the lockscreen options.
Apparently I can't post screenshots until I post more.
Any ideas on getting it to show up?

hi, could someone please point me towards a thread where it is explained how to use odin to flash the kernel on the galaxy 3?
i'm trying to follow the instructions for flashing CyanogenMod 7.2 (Alpha9 - MTD) as found on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2309390
i already have CyanogenMod 7.2 Alpha9 on my phone. i just can't figure out how to use odin to flash the kernel so i can then update to the MTD version. everything i've tried either does nothing or ends up with a bricked phone and i have to start over again. what version of odin should i be using? should i be using PDA or one package mode? should i be using the OPS file?
please direct me to a thread and not just an area of the site. i know what bits to look in, and i can't find the information i need. i can't ask in the CyanogenMod 7.2 (Alpha9 - MTD) thread because my post count isn't high enough to post in that bit of the forum.
Hi!
Normally we only link members to threads here....but before I worry about that, I should simply tell you that kernels from the development sections generally get flashed from your custom recovery. Not with Odin.
If I understand what you are saying, that's your problem.
---------- Post added at 12:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 PM ----------
In other words....please carefully read the opening posts of anything you want to flash. Instructions for flashing are almost always listed there.

OK, I see it does have a Odin flashable kernel. My mistake.
I also see you already asked about it in the Q&A section....which is exactly what I was about to advise you to do.
You will have to patient and wait for an answer there.
Also, you can look around and comment or ask questions ....making constructive posts. After 10 posts, you can post in the ROM thread also.
Good luck!
thanks, didn't mean to be impatient, but i thought maybe my original post was asking people to recover old ground, and that a request to be directed to the relevant thread would be more appropriate.
if there's a version of this kernel that is flashable from recovery, a link to that would be better yet, as i'm getting along fine with CWM recovery, whereas i'm finding odin to be confusing and temperamental.
I'm afraid I can't help further. You've found where to look and post , and that is what we do here on Assist. Nothing more I'm afraid. ?
cool, thanks for your help!
i've realised that the problem i had all along was that the zip archive containing the cyanogenmod 7 MTD version update was corrupt. i've re-downloaded that and now have the MTD version running.
i cant find any thing about desire 700 root
if you some thing post it here
Hi!!
This seems relatively new, and there's not a lot if feedback on the thread.....so read carefully and understand everything before trying.
Of course there could be risks.... As with any thing we do to our devices, so be warned.

And any questions, concerns or problems....please ask in that thread. ?
I'm curious about updating to CM11 M12. Is it as easy as just downloading then installing from settings? Will I have to update Gapps or anything? Will I lose data from this?
Thanks
Hi,
You would need to follow whatever the instructions are for the rom basically. Without knowing your device, I have no where to point you.
But follow what the instructions are. Yes, you will likely need gapps that match the Android version of the rom. And I'm not sure what you mean by update from settings.
The best advice I can give you is to register on XDA and ask for any help you may need in your devices Q&A section.
Good luck!

Oh, and data. It's likely best to clean flash the new rom, as it's a big step up. You can backup your apps and their data with titanium backup.
And always do a nandroid backup from recovery before you do anything.... In case you have issues and need to restore. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.

i had lenovo a369i running on jellybean. i bought it in cheap price so it is okay for me to experiment it. i had a favor but a little bit complex. After a long research i found some interesting idea. best costom rom, upgrade and partition. i search a method for my lenovo a369i for this kind of tweaks, but my lenovo seems not so much popular. i see some few method but i think it won't work or quite complicated to my lenovo. i was fear making action on my phone without your consent and done something wrong. so i stop here and ask few question. by the way my phone is rooted using framaroot. My question is, i want to upgrade my lenovo a369i on my android version jellybean into kitkat or lollipop. i think that jellybean some flaw why some spfcific app won't work. can u show me how? And download links.
My alternative option was flash or install costom rom. can you show me how? And how i can download twrp and cwm work and suit for my lenovo a369i?? Which is the best rom on your own experience. cm, aokp, pac rom or paranoid? how can i install it?.

And also im gladly to hear if you have more idea of tweaks on phone.
