um, no...it does not. then, after edititing the build prop file, trying to fool netflix to think im htc vision (g2) still i get the same device error. this trick must have been patched already.

cm7 2.3.4 gets detected by netflix and stops me at the device not supported pop up.

Are you trying with a stock rom or a custom rom?

It's working on my gTab... I am currently watching Battlestar Galactica.
I am running Overcome ROM Version 2.2.2 Beta 2. Some scenes were a bit grainy at first, but it seems to get progressively better with usage.

I didn't state nor did the link I linked to state that any prop editing needs to be done. Fresh Overcome GB ROM and the APK in the link and Netflix plays. I just finished watching Predators. Don't state it doesn't work when its just your device thats not working.

sorry i forgot to mention that im running techno's cm7 2.3.4 (perhaps thats the prob?) ill be trying overcome asap.
apologies for saying it didnt work for me...try and relax a bit fella, my tab is working just fine otherwise.
apparently the overcome guys are the only lucky ones?

On my Wifi only Tab I changed the lines in the build.prop to HTC and I can login and hear sound when I select a movie but no video.

I believe wifi tabs have different hardware then 3g ones. Build prop could be one fix but I think there might be a hardware check or something that is preventing video for some.

His video overlay driver isn't working yeah that's your problem. Flash overcome and enjoy.

I'm running Overcome v2.0.0 beta 2, and the netflix app is running on my tab. Picture quality is lacking, but it is working.

SO i take it, Netflix only works on GSM overcome Roms...Sprint tab rooted with original Rom does not work. The screen just disappears when you log in. SMH at Google. To many software/hardware versions for any company to make a app right.

i ment in like australia..

Works fine with the new Gingerbread ROM on Tmo US.

another +1 on overcome 2.0 (2.3.3) i havnt had much time to test but it loads and plays. ill see in the next couple days how it works without wifi. at home it seems to be all well.
comming from technomancer's cm7 port overcome is MUCH MUCH smoother, cleaner, faster and has none of the issues i used to have with cm...but thats what you get with ports that arent updated regularly. the older overcome worked well, but i chose cm7 because of the settings and such, and back a couple months ago there wasnt THAT big of a diff (and cm is whats on my g2...so i thought id prefer it) now after using the latest 2.0 i cant believe how well this tab functions now.
so, netflix made me switch roms, and it works!!...but i got a bonus surprise with how well overcome really is.
very good day for my tablet!

Works perfectly on my us tmobile tab with overcome beta 1 and 2.3.3! Picture quality is very crisp. Streams with no lag
Works so well that I was on the phone with netflix yesterday and was telling the guy on the phone about it, info on 2.3.3.
and the the netflix app in his email got me 6 free months of service via coupons.

Also I think its funny that one of my other devices is actually supported and it doesnt work on it! Rather watch it on the tab anyways.

Features Missing on G2X?

I just got an LG G2X with GB 2.3.3 update installed stock.
1. I've noticed the 1080p/24fps option is missing on the video camera settings.
2. The touch focus is not working either. It's supposed to focus while recording video and you touch the screen.
I bought the phone because of these features, so Im very disappointed they are not included. Any ideas.

All those features were present with Froyo. So what you really want is the LG camera app. After the Gingerbread update it was replaced by the Google camera app.
But you can flash your phone with Weapon G2X 2.5 which has the LG camera app included.

Why would LG do that? I mean, why put a rom which disables the features that give value to the phone such as 1080p video?....Not only that, like I mentioned before, I bought the phone for the features and now what?..
That means that a person that doesn't know how to flash a different ROM is screwed...so they end up returning the phone...this is really bad business... If LG needed to flash a new ROM to fix all bugs, they shouldve given us a complete ROM which would have all the features the phone has.
i dont want to go install the old rom due to all the bugs it has. So, in other words.. this phone is most likely going back.

I know, I would be dissapointed as well.
What you can do is either what the previous poster said or you could flash a Froyo ROM which would have all the features that you bought this phone for.
If you need help PM me and I could help you flashing your phone and doing all those good things

Well.. I know how to flash roms.. I just need to know where I can find them and which ones have the least bugs..I would appreciate it if you can tell me where to find them.
I just dont want to flash an old rom which is the reason LG had to update the G2X due to all the bugs froyo has.

Thanks dude... do you know anything about recording 1080p/30 fps on the g2x... someone told me that somewhere in xda there is something about it?
And how come you have 2.3.5 CM7 nightly..is that better?

With the Gingerbread google camera it already allows you to record in 1080p HD 30/fps its just not showed as 1080p.
I like the CM7 2.3.5 only because i think it's a more stable ROM..but you won't be able to flash the LG camera app. For some reason the LG Camera app is not compatible with 2.3.5 or CM7 base ROMs.
But i'm actually now running Eaglesblood 2.3.5 which is a CM7 base...so i have the best of both worlds.

what about touch focus?... does it work with your rom.. like.. when you're recording and you touch the screen does it focus on a close object?
also...
what about Netflix..does it work properly for you.. It plays for me but fast speed.

And there are some really cool themes for the weapon rom in the themes section, or follow my sig.

Touch focus on video doesn't work for me but it does for camera. And honestly i have no complains except that i don't have a choice of storage..whether to SD or Internal.
Haven't really tried Netflix yet...but i will.
And just like what mmapcpro said...Weapon has some pretty sick themes.

I get a black screen after flashing the kernel..it wont boot up... I wiped cache. any ideas?

Did you wipe Dalvik too? If not try that as well

I also noticed it is missing a portable kegerator with some type of high speed low drag sup-space link to an endless supply of Sam Adams. Oh well guess we can't win them all

Flak0 made the original lg can app for the ota update. Works 100% except the ffc cam is buggy

[Q] Video chat is sideways

I've searched the forums, google etc and can't see an answer to this. I've updated my ROM to the latest from Virtuous Unity running sense 3.0 and android 2.3.4 but when i try and do a video call, either with google chat, or Skype, my image always comes out sideways to me, and to the other person, no matter which way i turn my phone.
Any ideas why? Is there a solution? Tried a couple of other ROMs but same issue.
Any help would be appreciated

As far as I know this is a 'known bug' don't think there is a work around for it yet

It is a kernel bug(unity v9) Flash the stock kernel to fix it.
Or help report the bug to the kernel thread so that mdj can fix it!!
I have been asking loads on the thread and pming him, but he ignores me :/

using 'My Mirror' from the market, no problems in landscape mode.
Kernel is v9.

I'm a bit of a noob with all this flashing lark, i rooted the phone and installed the 2.39 virtuous rom, so no idea if that changed the kernel to the one that the phone came with. How do I know?
Installed latest Skype and you are right video is now correct, but still sideways on google talk which i use more and prefer. So guess it's a google thing?

Hulu Plus New altered APP on Sky Rom

Hi People
I tried using the new posted Hulu Plus APP that has been posted on the general android forum and it did not worked even though some people are reporting that is working on stock Skyrocket. I have SKYSandwish Rom installed and think the intense ad blocking on the Rom is keeping Hulu Plus looping on the buffering screen while tring to play the ads. I am saying this because people with the sam eproblem are reporting that after removing adblocker it started working 100%. To the developer of this ROM can you make the necesary changes to make this modified HULU Plus APP work. It is so much more smother than doing it through the web page.

First of all you need to post this in his rom thread and second of all for rite now remove that ad blocking.

Is this Hulu.apk the same as the one included by Sean on his Sky ICS rom or the one posted in the eneral android thread? I ask because I have the one included with Sean ICS working ok. The reason I am asking is because what I want to do is make the modified Hulu Plus app work. It is a much better solution because is so much smother and faster.

Ok tested the hulu apk you said but is the same that comes with Sky ICS rom. This is not the Hulu Plus apk I am talkin about. The one I am saying is the full official Hulu Plus app that was modified about 2 days ago and posted in the General Android section that has been made to work with every android device. It is the real Hulu Plus app just modified to work on every android device without even rooting.

OH snapp idk about that one. I thought you were talking about the one form ics rom. I never looked into it. So can't tell you what's wrong sry.

Some people already confirmed working on Skyrocket with skyroketer Rom. The people saying that it did not work for them is because they either had adblocker or because the Rom they were using had some kind of adblocking that prevented it from displaying the ads needed for Hulu Plus to work.
Can you please help me and at least post this on the Sean Sky ICS thread until I have the clearence to post directly on the thread. I would apreciate your help with this.

So, bjballar41, uhh in regard to Sense and to the Market/Play question, is your Girlfriends phone rooted?

If the phone is not rooted, she might want to check for software/firmware updates. Sounds like she is still running froyo, android 2.2.

Uh, ROM version aside, there's a d/l for the play store.apk. Google it. I did that way back, b/c I was still on market 2.5 (I think)

But is the play store an improvement? I recently went back to a nandroid of the ROM I found most stable. I have the old market back and am loving it compared to the more recent veal they have foisted upon the unsuspecting masses. Yes, it may be a good idea to have the apk, but I won't install it unless my market stops working. My 2 cents.

As it is stock ATT never updated the Inspire to anything past 2.3 with the older sense. It didn't even get the Sense 3.0 update HTC pushed out. This is the reason foe not having the lock screen. Unless you root it and flash a custom from it won't happen. The market maybe OS version dependet

I don't know about better. It looks like the 3.x series of Market. I will say that the 2.x Market I had had started having random times where it wouldn't connect.
