Simple question; why is the chrome browser not available for the P999?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Is it on ICS? Chrome is 4.0+

Just checked online. If you get a 4.0 or higher rom, it'll work like it does on my 4.1 Galaxy Nexus

Chrome will crash on the G2x if you try to select tabs. Unless someone knows some work around? I want to use this browser, but it's useless if I can't switch between tabs.

I think the browser shuts down due to low memory.

I get that a lot too, the browser struggles loading a page and just exits. I just switched over to Dolphin and the problem is gone
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
yes
stock browser, stock rom not rooted it closes. memory is at over 100mb so i dont see it being memory. just poor software thats why the alt browsers dont do this.
I get that too, but only after using the search button.

Flash to Focus on PC Browsing and Mobile Apps; Adobe to More
http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/flash-focus.html
Please read the article and the reasons behind their decision.
I don't exactly get what they're trying to say.
They're dropping Flash support, but are continuing Adobe Air? What's the difference?
Excuse my ignorance.
Air runs flash out side the Browser. so an app can use flash without launching the Web browser.

So what do we use now to have flash? Because for some reason now I can't play flash videos on my g2x

HTML5 is the way to go as far as web is concerned (for desktop as well as mobile platforms). So, they're doing the right thing. It's a shame Adobe is stopping support for it though. I wonder how this might affect video streaming on youtube etc which require flash in future?

Funny how your title and OP are completely different things. Your title suggests they are dropping Flash entirely and will no longer be available or updated... where your OP says they are simply stopping development.
The latter is right. They are just simply stopping development on it. It is at a place where it is fine. They will still maintain bug fixes with Android but they just won't be developing anymore for it.
Not really a big deal. We have flash support and we always will. This doesn't mean that tomorrow, we won't be able to use flash content. I don't know if its a good thing but HTML5 is a much better choice moving forward.
I need help! Messed up uninstalling the android native browser and doing the same with Titanium back up he can not restore the application. Already formatted the phone and nothing. I have a Galaxy Pro
Have you checked for an apk online?

This here is the best solution, stock browser is never as good as some 3rd party browsers out there

I agree, dolphin is the way to go unless you really love the stock browser. If you haven't tried any 3rd party browsers, check them out. There's a few good ones out there. You won't look back.
Didnt you create first a backup in Titanium backup?
You can use Dolphin browser.
Alternatively, you can install a new image/firmware into your phone
Maybe resetting to factory setting helps. But as others said Delphin is a very good browser, once you use it you won't use other browsers.
When I try to beam something to my nexus 7 with s-beam it brings up the market on my n7 and says item not found. My n7 can send stuff to me through android beam though. Help please.

Are you trying to send from the stock leak Gallery on the phone? The one that says "Gallery" and has a flower.
If so, that is the problem. The stock Samsung gallery is not available to the N7 on the play store.
You can download another app, such as QuickPic on both devices and send them that way.
You can send from the N7 because you are probably using the universal vanilla Android gallery.
The Android gallery can send to everyone. Samsung's proprietary one can not.
It does this with my gf's S3 and my skyrocket.
Im on CM10 and she is on stock. I have to use the stock gallery to send a pic unless she downloads QuickPic.
And she can't send to me with her stock gallery.
I'll try that, thanks.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Using quickpic didn't work.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
AHA!
I just got it to work.
.. and just realized I was wrong about quickpic lol
Anyways, turn off "S-beam" and make sure NFC and Android Beam are on.
On the N7, turn on both NFC and Android Beam as well.
Tap to send it and it should work.
Last night It was giving me the same issue, trying to get me to DL an app that wasnt in the playstore.
But, after turning off S-beam, it works just fine.
For whatever reason, QP to QP does not work...
Stock gallery to stock gallery does with S-beam off.
It works! Thank you, that was driving me crazy.

Table Browser?
For a file browser I'd recommend ES File Explorer.
For an internet browser I'd recommend Google Chrome. But you might have to root your device to get Chrome to install.
Chrome has been crashing on me, so I brief Boat browser and its pretty fast and stable.

Chalk up another vote for Dolphin Browser for a tablet. I find it to be way faster than Chrome and just a little bit quicker than the regular Browser.apk from AOSP Android. It really feels a lot peppier than Chrome on my AOKP Nexus 7.
