[Q] can someone make a completely vanilla android ROM?

i would like to use a completely stock android rom
no extras
just like how the nexus S comes
I'm sure there's people who would want to use this

Wait til cm7 drops. People will use this source to build AOSP.

Someone could it now if they were bothered, don't need CM

The closest to Vanilla you are going to get is Superlite v1.1
We are all waiting on CyanogenMod to come out. That will be the dominate ROM once its out.
To put things into perspective my old HTC HD2 on Cyanogen ( Typhoon ), runs faster and smoother than my Sensation ( even on SuperLite ).
For now I recommend you give SuperLite a try, you won't be disappointed!

This whole thread is trash. I been reading xda developers way before I became a member & the reason why I waited over a year was because we didnt have members that waisted post like all the ones in this threat (including mine).

Upgrading to ICS

So I have been reading alot of post saying that the OTA is released in Asia. So I have an AT&T A2 from the US that's rooted and has cheesecake installed. Is there anything that I need to do to have a successful update? I'm on 2.3.6 right now and as far as I know I haven't changed any of my system files, other than how I look for updates.

Good sir, there are MANY posts on how to get your A2 on ICS. We officially have three ICS leaks for this phone.

What's the upgrade path for me?

I am on 2.3.6 custom ROM which I got from here many many months ago. Its SuperCharged_V_5_Update_2.
How do I upgrade to a 4.0.4 ROM? Which one do I use?
I tried to read through many ROM threads here but I was lost because all of them were saying I need ICS before I could install that ROM. How do I get ICS before I get ICS....

My apologies. I did not realize when I asked this question. This used to be my default forum to come to back when I was more active developer like. Yeah, its been about a year or close to it.

This was reported to the moderators.
In the future please just report these things, rather than posting in the thread, it just causes issues and as we have seen it upsets people.
Reporting a post is simple, just click the triangle with the ! in it on the first post of the thread and mark the report as non-urgent.

orthous 6

ok i had orthous 5 on my skyrocket, then i upgraded to 6 just now. dont see any difference except i lost the facial recognition in the security feature. is it just not in there anymore or do i need to reinstall

There is already a well active Orthus discussion thread. Please go there and ask questions rather than starting a new thread.

Well, I just checked and it works just fine on my rocket running 6.
Sly is right though, you'll prolly get more help over in the Orthus thread...Also, if you spelled it correctly.

There lies your problem. Look for the Orthus thread in general started by garydv2002. Usually Gary or mindmajick can help you with any problems you run into. As long as you don't start bashing the dev or rom for one small issue, you'll find an answer to your problem in no time.
