Any of the Dre Beat headphones/ control talk work with HOX? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Does anybody know whether or nor the ibeats, or beat tours etc, with control talks work for the one x? And before anyone says don't waste your money, I love the sound. So just curious. I'm trying to find the original urbeats by dre. Hard to find. I had them for my rezound. But sold them. I found some on ebay. But weary if they are fake..thanks.

AT&T tmobile and sprint have the solo and the urbeats that work on htc and most android phones. Also if you already have solo or studio I know where get the android cable pm for it
If this helped give thanks

Don't waste your money
Seriously, there are MUCH better sounding cans for a fraction of the price. Audio Technica, Beyerdynamic, Grado, AKG, even the B+W P5s (which I own and love) all have FAR better sound than Beats. If you wanna go in ear then every IEM from Shure is the best at its respective price point. I just got these buds from Yuin that for $40 sound unbelievable for ear buds. Seriously, forget the name and BS status symbol and actually check out what else is out there, you'd be surprised at what good sound actually sounds like because Beats is most definitely not it. Beats is not about sound quality, never was.

The ibeats and beats tour does not work on one x but the urbeats which is ibeats with android control talk and htc beats solo does work on the one x. They can be found at a sprint AT&T and tmobile store. If you own a solo or studio already and just need the cable pm I know where to buy it

ControlTalk & HOX
I'm a fan of Beats series so the straight answer is only the ControlTalk remote with 1 button works as of right now. I have the Studio for work and it's one button works just fine for answer/end call as well as play/pause/skip/rewind (1 tap for the two, two/three taps for the latter).
Unfortunately the my Beats Tour doesn't seem to be supported. I also picked up this device from AT&T and they have Beats everywhere but notice the Tour or PowerBeats are nowhere to be seen. It's really unfortunate the hardware doesn't support the volume buttons. I jumped ship from the iPhone so I find this a bit dissapointing but you can always pickup "Headset Button Controller"which won't enable the volume buttons but at least a long press can cycle through the volume in steps. Good enough for me.

It's basically Dr. Dre's idea of what EQ settings you should have when some Beats Audio high performance equipment is plugged in. Your friends phone will detect the Beats headphones (somehow) and Beats Audio will apply a certain EQ.
There are a few ports being tested which will work with any headphones, although it remains to be seen if this is actually a benefit or a marketing gimmick. Forcing an EQ designed for a specific set of headphones may not have a desirable effect when pluggin in some cheap £20 Sony's!

Yes it's not like beats audio means it has any special audio processing hardware. It is simply an EQ tailored to get the "best" sound out of a specific set of headphones. If you are not planning on using Beats headphones, then it is kinda redundant. I'm simply curious to see if this EQ is better than my custom one using PowerAmp.
I have yet to test it myself, but I would imagine that unless you are planning on splashing out £100+ on Beats headphones, you are best of sticking with using PowerAmp and it's awesome equaliser to tune the sound to best suit the headphones you already have. Much Cheaper! Since we are on the topic, I can highly recommend the a-Jays One. IMO you'll not get a better sound for £20! Plus the cable is truly tangle-free! I'd have been very happy with these had they cost me £60.
(Also wins the prize for the most over-packaged product I've ever bought. The case is good for keeping anything you want to survive the nuclear apocolypse.)

I am sorry but this is a scam.... I don't see no difference in sound... it's pure marketing if you have sound quality boost only by software, certain EQ setting,if you will, which works only in native Music Player for HTC WTF BTW????
I hate native music player... very limited (for example, NO FLAC support, CUE sheets ... and many more features)...
PowerAmp and/or PlayerPro, maybe both
Just wanna say one thing!
Dump box HTC headset, poor sound quality... buy something else...

Have bought recently Sennheiser CX300 and I must say that the sound quality improved very much

Ben, I got myself a pair of monster beats in-canal earphones recently and I have to tell you even standalone they are great. But with the beats mod they the sound is heavenly.
I'm opposed to marketing gimmicks by principle and was skeptical at first.
But after listening to a pair of these AND comparing them to a set of Bose headphones at the same mall I concluded these are much better for the kind of music I'm used to.
However we have to remember that audio perception is a subjective feeling and not everybody may have the same taste.

@BLD
Good to read a substantial review, with some actual detail, although still early and HTC could (or do I mean SHOULD) add additional hardware to later devices which could further improve the sound output from their devices, in fact to add weight to the Beats link-up it might be a good idea to do so, so as not to lose too much cred, no one feels like they're being taken for a fool.

I think your comments just prove that the better your headphone the better the music sounds!

"Beats" is a EQ software upgrade, as I understood, supported by native Music player... It is the same if you turn on an EQ function in your PlayerPro of PowerAmp... for me Beats has no purpose in my phone....
It's like.... "Heeey, it is the same phone with the same hardware and it has a autoEQ called Beats, and it is black'n'red in color, with cool headset.... please pay a fortune!!!" WTF!
UPDATE: (just read this review... kinda stepped on that one )
"The Beats Audio software isn't complete marketing vapor, but it's still inherently gimmicky and adds nothing in the XE's favor: you could achieve a better result on the original Sensation simply by downloading a third-party music player that lets you play with the EQ settings yourself. The only thing which might sway us to by the Sensation XE over its predecessor is the packaged YourBeats headphones, coupled with the red styling on the phone....."

New nexus with beats audio?

Im sure we've all seen the 10 predictions about 2012 and how HTC will be making the new jellybean phone because Samsung is too busy with the nexus tablet.
My question is if HTC does make the jellybean nexus would you want it to beats audio if so why or why not and would it be a dealbreaker to you staining the only bloatware free phone?
I personly would like them to make it more than just an EQ setting if they insist on putting it on the nexus

HELL to the NO. Beats doesn't do jack. It's overpriced garbage for crappy sound quality. Plus it just makes our favorite high end devices cost even more money. Want real EQ capabilities? Try out Poweramp or DSP manager. Want actual good sound quality? Try out an old Samsung Galaxy device like an infuse with that Wolfson DAC. I'm still pissed Samsung went for the crappy Yamaha and ditched the Wolfson with the GSII.
Yeah leave the beats stuff out of the nexus. I'm pretty excited if HTC is really making the new device, hopefully they ditch qualcomm and get an omap with the new powerVR gpu.
Other than that I wish it not to but uber thick like htc's most recent offerings. Maybe like a revamped nexus one body?

Let's take wal-mart quality headphones and mask the terrible sound quality with reverberations that are likely extremely unhealthy in such close proximity to your eardrums. Then, we'll market them with the name of a rapper who's greatest contribution is a piece of white trash with mommy issues out of the trailer park and having him rap out of his nose... Yeah, sounds like the kind of company HTC might sign up with.
I must be in the minority as I like it. I don't use the stock player much but I did test it out and have a set or Dre headphones and it does make a difference. But unless that is your thing it most likely isn't for you. Beats out my old galaxy s any day of the week.

Also Beats is only a software thing, easily replaceable with PowerAMP.

Had voodoo sound on my old galaxy and the Samsung needed it badly lol. Power amp is my main player but foe those that stay stock beats is not that bad.
I'm on a headphone audiophile forum and anything Beats related is recognized as utter crap. It's horrible bass boosting software that makes you say bye bye to a flat, natural response curve. Beyond that, while it increases the impact of the bass, it muddies it up because the sub bass is overwhelmed by the hit of the others.
I don't want to go into it because the discussions are lengthy (but fascinating), but essentially the people who known what they're talking about know that Beats is junk.

It did work. They realized kids were getting smartphones at a lower and lower age and kids/teens love Beats because it makes them "cool". Lets think about if HTC would've teamed up with Audio Technica, Sennheiser, etc. It wouldn't have NEAR the effect as it has with having Beats.

It's not a personal attack. A lot of people are quick to anger because they are under the impression that people enjoy making people feel bad about investing into a product that cost them a lot of money. It's not that. Go through his post and try to find the ad hominem argument. You can't.
On this phone, Beats is just a terrible implementation of an equalizer preset. It muddies music and quite frankly, if you've used professional cans or in-ear monitors that cost you over 300 dollars, you too would probably agree that Beats does terrible things to your music.

Some songs I have that are recorded at 320kbps are reduced in sound quality. But for the majority of songs its actually an enhancement because of the low recording rate. Now I'm not saying its the best thing since ice cream or other activities but for the majority of people and equipment it actually does help. Just my 2 cents

ive been eyeing up so many of those on ebay.. the co worker bought 4 of them and they all turned out to be fakes tho. the remote wouldn't work on anyones phones in the office no matter what brand or make :|
its a gamble of buying one getting it sent testing it and if not trying another seller's product.

Yes there is also the Nokia purity hd and inear
I test them on android htc Samsung and Sony phones they work ( for marketing reason they don't list the devices on the Box )
Thank you. I ordered the Nokia Purity HD at Amazon and will test it with my HTC One S and Google/Asus Nexus 7. But I think the last one is not compatible to controls:

But as the cable is changable I will do a little research on a cable with analog volume control.

The htc phones for whatever reason they choose todo this uses the volume control for skipping tracks but all three buttons work. I own a nexus 7 and I can tell it does not work. I find a little strange since google software is supported and they band it as a pure google tablet.

Beats audio technology and software

I'm trying to understand something here.
From what I know, beats headphones only work and deliver the best sounds quality when they are paired up with the beats audio technology. However this technology must be built into the device playing the music (HTC one x for example)
What I can't seem to understand is why are people installing beats software on their normal Android phones from the play store?
Those beats Headphones are not supposed to work without the technology built in to the device. Not with some random software called beats...

I can't help myself... "why are people buying Beats headphones at all ?" is the better question.
They're mediocre and you can get much better sound quality for your money.
It's a gimmick. It's just a pre-set equalizer. It's an .apk when it comes to Android phones. So I'm sure someone has ported or replicated it or whatever for people to download. Or they could just download an equalizer and figure it out themselves.
Thinking it's anything else is falling victim to their marketing.
i think it is just some kind of marketing
Not sayin that the whole beats audio thing is fake or non-effective or anything but well as asparov said...It's Dre, ppl just can't say no to Dre.
I have install beats audio in my tab and its playing smooth, and clean rather than stock music

I agree, its a complete gimmick. Its just a marketing scheme to get young kids who idolize celebrities in the hip hop/rap game to buy their junk. Its funny that it actually works though. People now walk around with those huge headphones. makes me a laugh a little.
I see. So if beats audio built in technology is just a preset equalizer than the whole beats audio thing is a scam.
Although I will admit those beats headphones have alot of good looks and style...

Recent HTC phones like Windows phone 8X and butterfly/DNA also include a built in 2.55V beats amp

Unless you have beats headphones, I find it to provide crappy sound on most non-beats headphones/speakers.
In fact an app called Volume+ has a EQ option called "Good Quality" that sounds better IMO on all of my headphones and my Infuse 4G's speakers.
