Galaxy S3 (US) root/unrooting - General Questions and Answers

I was able to root my Galaxy S3 on AT&T with the original post/instructions. Works like a charm. But I think I've got a shoddy battery...battery life is terrible. Would like to bring to a store to replace but I can't find a way to unroot? All the previous posts RE: unrooting seem to be related to international versions. (i9300)
I assume the method would be the same, I've got the firmware from sammobile.com. But the triangle-away app doesn't work on the AT&T version it seems. Any help to unroot the i747 temporarily so I can talk to AT&T would be appreciated!
Thanks!

use this program called unlock root, its quick and easy

doesn't look like it supports Galaxy SGH-i747 yet, at least from the website.

i just got my samsung galaxy s2 today, and would like to take the telstra carrier software off the phone? how do i do this? any info greatly appreciated, oh btw loving the phone
hellooooooo? any1? i thought this site was suppost to be supportive
you can but you have to flash your firmware with something new and not subjected to telstra, look up gingerbread updates for s2 in this forum and use odin
also reading that "SuperOneClick" may be able to root SG2 now, if you get root you can delete using "root explorer"

[Q] Galaxy SII firmware help

Hi I have a Galaxy SII SCH-R760. It is a non US Cellular version as I got it from my small town local phone provider. I had been reading about the SII being able to use ICS and wanted to update. However I accidentally pulled a stupid move and flashed it to the US Cellular firmware. Is there any way to get it back to stock firmware or is there at least a generic firmware I can install? The phone is not rooted and I would like to keep it that way for now if possible.
Thanks a million
Jon

Galaxy S3 help

Just was looking for a quick answer I haven't been able to find. I just upgraded to the Telus variant of the S3 (i747m) and have rooted and installed TWRP. I just wanted to clear one thing up. When I was using my S2 (t989-d) It was ok for me to use a t989 rom despite using the Canadian variant. I was wondering when looking for a rom which ones would be compatible? I noticed the AT&T variant is i747 and I wanted to make sure I asked before destroying my phone.
I appreciate any answers, thanks.

[Q] Rooting Galaxy S4 with CF-auto-root (Canada)

I couldn't find a solution too specific to my phone, but was mostly just wondering, Does anyone know if the newest CF-auto-root is compatible with a Canadian SGH-I337M; Ver 4.4.2; Baseband VLUFNE1 on the MTS network? if so, where is a safe download source of the .tar?
And if not if there is anything that is compatible? Keep in mind im not looking to flash custom roms, i essentially want root to use rooted apps and all the devince freedom that comes with it. essentially a basic root. Also Ive previously rooted my S2 and an old motodroid so theres no need to review the rooting process ive got that down.
Thanks, any and all advice is appreciated!

Question About Galaxy J3 Eclipse (SM-J327VZKA, Verizon)

Has anyone been able to get a working root / ROM for the J3 Eclipse on Verizon yet? It would be so nice to be able to remove all this bloatware Samsung UI and apps since the phone isn't all that fast in the first place. It has been years since I rooted any phone so maybe I am just overlooking something, been searching but no luck so far.
From what I can tell, your J3 is identical to ours on Sprint, Boost and Virgin Mobile. Our TWRP may be compatible with your device. @ashyx would know better than I. Hardware wise they appear to be the same. Now software is another matter. Your partitions may be different than ours so I do not advise a flash of our recovery. But it is worth asking those that know more about it. Will depend on whether your bootloader is locked also.
