mine was originally O2 uk. i bought unlock code from ebay 1.50euros and its working perfect in Cyprus.
why pay? you can unlock for free! its at the bottom of the s-0ff guide by viper

no is posible each model have a firmware specific. Is very easy get the right firmware is sammobile.
I bought my phone in Europe and can not operate in Brazil . Asks the pin sim card . does not log on the network. Any idea ??

you have to buy the unlock pin because samsung have regional block.... for Latin America always is better 920i.

I bought without operator . but when you turn asks the sim card pin number , and does not connect to the network.

You said Verizon. If it is EE you contact them and they will SIM and bootloader unlock it. Assuming the contract has been fulfilled.
unfortunately, ee uk told me that the phone status is "stolen", i bought it from ebay i have to return it before buyer protection end

Oh dear . Me thinks you should be getting in touch with the cops and reporting the seller to ebay. Some poor sod needs their phone back.

I bought this phone in Vienna, seller told me he was not attached to anyone mobile operator. If I write now to the operator and ask him to give me the SIM unlock code, why should he do this? The operator will not give me this code. Maybe someone could advise a proven online service of these SIM codes. So I do not lose 30 euros
Maybe you can check the Sony developer website for it, that's where I got the bootloader unlock code for my device.

As stated in that article "This method will not provide you with a T-Mobile SIM unlock."
If you want it sim unlocked you need to contact T-Mobile.

I would recommend buying a non locked version though. Especially if you live in the eu.

Yes, would suggest buying unlocked Tmob variant unless the post above can do it. But you cant be sure until you get your phone. So..

Come to think of it, is there even a AT&T branded Pixel Pro?
If you buy it from AT&T, it's not unlockable until the SIM is unlocked after meeting their requirements.
oh i bought the global version. just hope i dont ever have to resort to att versions ever again. i still use their sim card however.

I think after you pay it off att allows you to unlock the bootloader
