I have a rooted HTC Amaze with s-on and unlocked bootloader. Yesterday I tried to flash Android Revolution so I can have an ICS rom. I couldn't use my phone for almost an entire day until I finally figured out how to get back onto bulletless around 2am.
I want to upgrade to ICS but I have no clue what to do, I have read many many threads about what to do but nothing is really clear to me.
I might be asking something really obvious to some people but I am eff'd if I can't use my phone and I just need a little help from someone who can tell exactly what to do, thanks everyone.
HTC AMAZE
Originally Telus, unlocked for WIND now.
version 2.3.4
Bulletless V2.4.1
Sense 3.0
no help????

Hello, New here, checked through the suggested threads but they do not entirely answer my questions. Hope any of you guys can help.
I am with o2, and have recently handed my HTC Desire in for repair under warranty as it has the motherboard fault where it reboots continually in a loop!!
My HTC Desire has 2.2 Froyo and is not rooted, totally stock.
I know for most Mobile manufactuers, it is normal procedure when a phone is in for repair for the tech to install the latest software, in my case 2.3.3 Gingerbread. As 2.3.3 for the desire is not an OTA update, and comes with many disclaimers, will the HTC Tech guys still install?
I don't want this update, as it will stop me rooting my phone, which is something I plan to do once I get it back. If I would have known prior to handing my phone in, that HTC have blocked the ability to root the Desire then I would have certainlly made it clear that I do not want stock 2.3.3 from them, rather use a custom Rom with all the nice bits that Gingerbread and Sense give, rather then the stripped out version from HTC!!
If I get my Desire back with 2.3.3, do I have any grounds to refuse the phone and ask for a new one seeing as 2.3.3 from HTC can't be reverted?
Thanks
Ryan
Hi all, I am a complete Android noob and am looks for some answers.
I currently own a HTC Sensation Z710e that came with my contract on Vodafone and I am intrested in performing the whole S-Off and root thing, my question is though since I seen on the HTC Dev site that there is an EU version and a Vodafone version of the Sensation, I wanted to know if rooting on my phone would work and would I be able to install standard Senstation custom ROM's, would they install just fine or would there be issues with things such as calling or texting people? Would I need to change the radio settings around or something, if so how?
I just used the htc dev site just to see about how it works and I am probably going to use revolutionary.
I am running Android 2.3.4
You can tell I am not yet fully experienced when it comes to Android, so could I have some general tips and guidelines when it comes to modding my Sensation please.
Thanks for the help!
Yes when you root it and S off you can use any compatable rom - also unlcok the Sensation for free as well.
My phone came from Orange - S off CoreDroid for me and unlocked its
Marvellous sorry Sensational, now on Virgin
If you can read and follow instructions it's easy.
Use the guide here

Okay cheers guys.
Hey guys,
Been reading around on here and seen that pretty much everyone has the 2.3.5 with sense 3 update.
My girlfriend recently got a Desire S on T-Mobile UK and she is still on 2.3.3 sense 2.1 with no sign of any sort of update, I have read a few threads round here to try to find an RUU or w/e but I can only find ones that are for other countries or operators.
Can someone point me to an RUU or guide me through obtaining the update?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Ian
Is it s-off or unlocked through HTC Dev. Here are the collection of stock Roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
If the stock ones don't work then look at S-offing your device.
We haven't done anything to it really since she got it, id rather keep it that way to be honest.
Current software version is "1.47.110.3 CL78999 release-keys" is this tmob specific software? Are we more likely to get the sense 3 update if I flashed a WWE RUU?
Thanks
Hi, I'm sorry but I don't know. T-mobile are a joke as far as updates are concerned. I take it you have tried to update through your phone ie, check for updates in settings.
The first thing I do when I get a new HTC is change the T-mobile softare for one of the custom Roms, they are far better and don't have the T-mobile crap on them.
Take a look through the t-mobile forum and you will see there are plenty of pissed off people waiting http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/discussions/index?page=forums&topic=80101915a8144e01337e648aca007a7d
Good luck
Okay, thankyou for taking the time to reply, I will maybe wait a while then look into the HTC DEV unlock method and just flash an untouched 2.3.5 on there
I would give it some consideration, the custom Roms are far more stable in my opinion and give you a lot more options.
Sorry I couldn't help more.
I'm living in Canada on a small network called Mobilicity and they don't sell this tmobile htc sensation. I don't need the tmobile apps cuz they don't work on our network up here. I assume that even when android 4.0 comes out on tmobile that I'm going to have to update manually? And if so should I already upgrade to android 4.0 seeing as Bell Cincinnati already is updating their sensations?
S-off, root, recovery, backup, and then install 3.32 firmware and ARHD 6.6.3...
There's no need for you to wait, and you can try other 3.32 base roms while you're at it.
Thanks a lot. I got it to work. I thought i bricked it at the CID part but was able to do it through the boot screen and get the right ID. Works amazing. Thanks for the help. I've fixed computers since age 12 and the more i went along the more natural it became.
I was rocking a Sony Ericsson TM506 for 2 years with Mobilicity up here. Then got this phone and heard there was an updated Android, and I get OCD when there's an update, i had to do it and i did it. Thanks to your help and the guides on this site.
Yep. Now you can just watch the thread for whatever ROM you decide to use and run manual updates as they come out... You can also use CWM from the playstore to automate the process, but many will argue that EXT4 is far superior.
I know that everyone that bought their phone from tmobile can just update it by going through their settings and doing it but mine can't. I currently have a unlocked tmobile sensation and I have at&t on it and the phone is rooted with a custom rom called Android Revolution HD 3.5.2 by mike1986 and it says my android version is 2.3.4. I have no idea what all of this is but a couple of months ago my cousin did this for me on my phone and now I'm trying to get ICS on this. Is there anyway I can do it? Is there a guide or anything?
Thanks for reading.
