[Q] Want to use webcam in browser, not with app. - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Xoom... rooted, OC'd, hulified, and everything else under the sun. I need to figure out how to use the front facing camera as a webcam but in the browser, not an app (ex. Tango or Skype) If I use like Chatroulette It wont recognize that I have a cam. Is there a fix, exploit, setting or something out there to make this happen?

Would like to know this aswell

Video Chat App?

Is there a video chat app that allows you to chat from the phone to a computer? I know we don't have a front facing camera, but I am more interested in seeing the person on the computer (my little girl) while we are out of town, we could stand in front of a mirror is need be.
I just can't find any software that works...
i was searching for this too, and a nice app i found is called Live Mobile Video Chat (just search movicha, its the only result). you need to install a client on the computer you want to video chat, but it works pretty well.
Try Fring from the market. i don't know if you can install it on a pc though.
Try Qik for HTC EVO 4G. Its buggy but, it does have pc support.
Have you tried Bambuser?

yes, i was wondering. negative market comments of no support for galaxy tab (e.g. also not for front facing camera) and no mention of skype connectivity in market description... i wonder whether the OP every actually tried the app
It's a start
Tried this thinking it was an answer. It is half an answer.
1. It allows and easy switch between front and back camera.
2. It sees the incoming video.
3. It DOES NOT transmit video.
The ClearSeas app WORKS VERY WELL so it can be done - just need to figure out how to make it work.
Also, Yahoo messenger works very well INBOUND on the Galaxy but NOT on outgoing.
We are almost there. Come on Skype

[Q] App for video calls like Skype Device2PC

Hi!
Is there any Android app that enables high-quality video calls (like Skype) to other users on a desktop computer that works with the Galaxy Tab and its front camera? I don't care if this would imply a certain ROM.
Skype including video support doesn't seem to be available for Android, neither does GTalk (am I right?). I tried vtok to do a video call to a GTalk Account but the video quality was awful.
Any ideas what I might try?
Thank you in advance!

Try this:
http://www.oovoo.com/
For PC, Mac, Android and I think that it is also available for iOS
The android app runs fine in my Galaxy tab but I haven't tested it on a video call
Are you running gingerbread? Get the talk installer from the market to have working video chat through gtalk.

[Q] Webcam in browser

Hi, i just bought an ASUS Transformer, running on 3.2.
I was wondering if it was possible to use the mic/camera(s) whilst in the browser to voice and video chat on sites such as tinychat.com?
I do have flash player installed.
Easiest thing to do is try it, post back if it work or not.
My apologies, I have already tried it but don't know how to get it to work, it doesnt seem to recognise the mic or the camera, which is why I'm asking if there is a way to make it work lol

i am using that application only long time but no use. it does not support out going call in my phone. also highly unstable one in this phone frequently the application FC.
I installed the new TALK from gapps for cm7 package its really work fine in my phone. except some bugs like mute micro phone button not work. This is really nice than the talk come with phone. not yet tested the Video call because no webcam in my system but video buffered from the phone to pc with little lag.
the talk app version you mentioned can handle video chats with rear cam, bt it can't initiate a video chat, if your friend initiate it will work. I tried once and it was fine bt I forgot was it vtok or gtalk
power the droid
Yes it uses rear camera but video call works fine both income and outgoing. Vtok is only facing that problem in my device.
