Google has now added a new app to their play line. It is called Google Play Magazines. Now that Google has added a magazine purchase and subscription service to the play store it only makes sense that they add an app to manage magazines and subscriptions. If you are interested in purchasing magazines from Google then you can get the app through the play store or grab the apk (pulled from the Jellybean GSM Galaxy Nexus dump) from the following link.
Google Play Magazines
Installed the app on Motorola Defy MB525, CM7.2. It works.
However, content is not available. After login Google Play says [translation]:
"Regretfully, the Google Play Magazines are not available in your country.
We work to provide your favourite content as soon as possible.
Please, check again soon."

Reports indicate that its not interactive like apples versions. For the top mags at least.
I swear that's BS... I mean that actually have to change a few things and it would be suitable for android. Though the aspect ratios aren't the same.
It's not the same as Newsstand as all of the apps in apples newsstand are provided by third parties, with some providing a better experience than others. With Google Magazines, the whole experience is provided by Google, third party developers are not required as it is Google with the relationship with the publishers.
Nice...

Got this in the email today:
Dear Music Beta user,
We're excited to announce that Music Beta by Google is officially graduating from beta today! Google Music will remain a free service, and you can continue to store up to 20,000 songs in your personal music library. Please see the revised Terms of Service for this product update.
Google Music also comes with a number of new features. We've launched a new music store on Android Market that works seamlessly with Google Music. Shop on the web or your Android device for millions of tracks and hundreds of free songs for your music library. All of your purchases are automatically stored on Google Music for free (and don't count toward your 20,000 song limit). You can even share a free full play of any purchase with your friends on Google+.
For Google Music users with Android phones and tablets running version 2.2+, you will automatically receive an updated version of Android Market with the music store over the next few days. You should also receive a system notification with the Music app update sometime today, but you can always download it immediately.
--
So I checked it out, and they are offering a free single everyday, better than the iTMS! Your Market app should update within the next few days with this new store. In the meantime:

That's awesome news. I've been waiting for this for a while. I wonder if it will ever be as popular as iTunes.
I live in Australia and I can't find Google music App on the market.
Thanks OP, great stuff! Been waiting to try Google Music as i want my collection stored in the cloud and accessable from anywhere.
Perhaps someone could tell me how you initially upload your songs? Presumably you can do it from the PC?
Thanks for the news! That's good stuff. Finally an alternative to you-know-who.

That's how it worked in Beta. You choose which folders to upload and you're good to go. The application on the pc checked those folders for new additions and uploaded those as needed

I don't like how the music app does not let me download cloud music to my internal storage. There is absolutely no option to set the download folder or tell it which SD card to use.
However I will still use it since Zune just stole $10 from me duebto the lack of a cloud component like Amazon and Google. No more Zune and No more iTunes. If you wanna sell to me you better putnit in a music locker where I can download it infinite tines or stream it from anywhere.

Has anyone tried to purchase TV episodes through the Google Play store or through the Play TV & Movies app? I noticed that when I search for TV episodes in the play store on my One X, no TV shows are returned in the search results. I also noticed that if I select a "featured" TV show through the Play TV & Movies app, there is no option to purchase a TV show episode. I contacted Google Play support about this and I have an open ticket, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this issue on an AT&T HTC One X?

have you installed the play store apk that came from jellybean? You need that.
Thanks, I didn't realize that I need Jellybean(or components thereof) to purchase a TV episode from the Play Store though. I'm not sure how that makes sense for Google to cripple the ICS version of the Play Store. Google is saying that anyone who doesn't have Jellybean can't purchase TV show episodes?

Some Google Apps are hard/impossible to find when you use the Play Store search. Furthermore, when you look at the "All Apps by Google Inc."-list (link), you'll only see a handful of all apps.
Therefor, I created the following link list, which contains all Android Apps by Google Inc. available in the Play Store - initially for me to bookmark, but since it might be helpful for others I thought I'd leave it here.
Alphabetically-sorted list of all Apps by Google Inc. available in the Play Store

There is no App that is named "Google Now". In Jellybean, this feature is embedded in the regular "Google Search" App, which is linked here. However, there are no public releases of the Google Search App for Android 4+ (ICS & JB). All links in this thread are only for apps, that were officially released by Google Inc. to the Play Store.
Thanks for this
sent from my phone, what you think??
Could You clearly mark which of these apps are not visible in search results or on 'Google Inc.' list in Play?
I have another app to add to this list. Chrome Beta
Does anybody has compile all the signed .apk files and zip it, and care to share..
Thanks...

How will this course change the way participants think about or use Google Apps?
The course shows participants that Google Apps is more than the traditional programs that we’re used to. I have to say at first I didn't want to try Google Docs with my classroom because I loved Word, but once my students all got Google Docs accounts, I realized that Google Docs was so much more than a word processing tool. It allows us to collaborate, share and create together.:victory:
No Google TTS?
Google Now Launcher ?!
It is being reported that recommendations for magazines have appeared on the Play Store in the UK. Until now, we had no idea when Google would be introducing their magazine offering anywhere other than the US. With this evidence in place however, it is possible that.....

I read magazine using Google Play Magazines, which now has been replaced with Newsstand.
The thing is, I don't use Newsstand to read news. Unfortunately, Newsstand is a big bloatware. It runs in the background all the time and download stuff, even though I disable that feature.
So can anyone provide me with the original apk for Google Play Magazine?
