So the EVO LTE just got S-OFF - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I wonder if this will help our devs get it too.

what are the chances that it will actually work? is it as compatible as the desire hd s-off was with the inspire 4g?

Internally the Evo 4g LTE is our phone with a different radio same chipset and I have to believe the emmc is compatible

Yeah, im definitely holding off any attempts until there is an official S-OFF thread in our own dev section. Right now I could care less about it anyways. I can flash ROMs, kernels, and radios so I'm quite content with my measly unlocked bootloader.

Yep just took a look at it in ubuntu. It appears to write a modded hboot, and considering the evo ships with a different version to begin with, I would not flash this unless you want a brick.

BUT...the goods news is, it can be done Only issue I see is they have an external sdcard and we don't....
BTW...it is for Windows too...I just ran it...not with phone connected of course lol

[Q] AT&T HTC One X won't stay on

I brought a used One X and i was working perfectly until recently now i barely get it to turn on and in the factory reset screen this is what i see:
**Tampered**
**Locked**
EVITA PU SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.1.0002
RADIO-0.19as 32.09.11_2
OpenDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMC-boot
i dont know what the previous owner did to it, but im stumped and need some help
How long was it working perfect for? What changes have you made recently?
We can all guess the problem but if you just give specifics it will be much easier.

it was working fine for about 48 hours, one of my friends said he knew how to change code on the phone so it would stop shutting off but apperantly it didn't work. And yes i factory reset it but im not the greatest with phones so i never tried to unlock the bootloader, nor root it
I don't know anything about phones either but the more info you give out the easier it will be for the experts to swoop in and help you.

[Q] S-off on htc one XL ???

hi dear friends I have a dude, I was reading the htc one x intertational version forum and they said that is so hard to get the S-off because the Nvidia has a lot of restrictions, so my question is ..our htc one xl with snapdragon s4 is so hard too??? why not appear the S-off or nobody is working on this?
If you have a look in the development section you'll see there's a thread devoted to this topic. It's a work in progress.

Its being worked on. It doesn't magically happen, some of it is diligence, some of it is luck. HTC doesn't want us to have S-Off, so its not like they made it easy.

sorry friends my english is not perfect for now, i from peru and spanish is my language, anyway, what i meant is i have a doubt, in conclusion i wanted to know if snapdragon is so hard to get s-off than nvidia tegra 3 ??
It's so easy even a spanish caveman can do it!
I may be wrong ...but its not dependent on the processors...HTC makes it very very hard( think 1000000 x harder than your hardest test you've took) to get s off because they don't want it...we can usually find where theflag is but to crack it is another story that requires incredible amount of intelligence and luck like redpoint said.... There is and never will be a time frame for it just whemeve its figured out its figured out and us not having an sd card isn't really helping us

[Q] is anyone working on an exploit to the write protection for hboot 2.15

greetings all.
this post is just in regards to the new write protect some of us have been stuck on for a few months now, just seeing is anybody is working on an exploit? or if there may be another work around for the system read only/write protection problem.
p.s. I'm using the HTC one xl, Australian model, although I believe this issue spans many other countries.
thanking you kindly, st3wy.

To be a bit more specific, the write protection mentioned above is actually enabled in the 2.15 firmware rather than the 4.2.2 Android software version.

You might want to change the title of the thread, it really doesn't have anything to do with the Android version, it's the firmware version.

I agree, the thread title and the OP should be revised to mention 2.15, as those that were updated "officially" to that hboot version prior to SuperCID/S-off (or received their phone that way) are the only ones affected.
Not sure how to edit the thread name guys..

Having the correct thread title will make it clearer to those who may be able to help you. When asking for help you need to make sure you're as specific and correct with your terminology as possible, it makes it a lot easier for people to help. You can change the thread title by editing the first post in the thread while viewing in a web browser.

Naw.
Seriously, though I haven't heard of anyone working on it. Although all it takes is one talented individual to be working on it, for it to happen. And devs will often not admit to working on something for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which, is that they don't want to disappoint folks if they can't crack it, and they don't want people constantly nagging them "Did you hack it yet?".
There might be a spike in interest for such an exploit if/when AT&T deploys the same write protection on their Android 4.2/Sense 5 update. According to the poll on the ViperXL thread, 65% of those that responded are on AT&T.
I have to agree. I'd put money on the fact that when the at&t release comes there's gonna be a buttload of interest in getting this firmware haxxed. There simply aren't enough people (and devs) dealing with this problem at this stage. Wait until there are hordes of Americans complaining about it, then hopefully we'll see some action.

I realized that what you are really asking is how to run the RUU on Macintosh. I think you would need to run Windows either in Boot Camp or via some sort of emulator.

That's how I ran most of my mods to the One S, via boot camp. For S-OFF, I used moonshine with an Ubuntu live USB. Worked fine!
