Google play Music has received good reviews, and if you like a great looking player that is fast, easy to use, you can go for Doubbletwist or Uber music

Phantom music controls, pretty much works with any music player.

S3 music app
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726776
S3 music app ported to S2 and Note! has widget and run perfectly

Can we have something that will fill the whole 5 columns. Current pne ia limited to 4 columns but can be re-resized vertically. I suggest to do both...

Is there a music player that has lockscreen controls?

i've tried searching but i haven't found anything satisfying...
does anyone know of a decent media player (i don't like htc's music player) that also has lockscreen controls?
i'm running dc 3.2.3, launcherpro.
any help would be great =)
might try cubed
it shows up as a small 3 in the market.
Try WidgetLocker, it let's you place any widget on the lockscreen.

I was looking for a music app that would let the power button or one of the 4 soft buttons play and pause the music.

bTunes works really well.
thanks for all the suggestions! i'm testing out widget locker right now, but btunes does look like a good player. i'm currently using zimly, how does it compare to that?
MixZing
Ceger
I use Mixzing exclusively. Every once in awhile the album art does not show. But its a great music app.
Thirded on MixZing. Overall a very good player, however you have to upgrade to use the lockscreen widget.

Forgot about having to pay for the upgrade, but well worth it. I like how it auotomatically figures music choices to like and dislike behind the scenes so that shuffle play is more likely to bring favorite tunes.
Ceger
widgetlocker is awesome.
+1 for MixZing
Widgetlocker is sweet, mostly... I only had it happen on 1 out of about 10 calls today(I downloaded it last night) where it would not allow me to answer the call no matter what.
I've wanted a music player with lockscreen controls for a while. Widgetlocker makes it so every music player can have lockscreen controls.

[Q] Does anyone know a good music app with a nice UI?

I am currently using Apollo music player , but in starting to get bored of it. I'm looking for a new music app that looks really nice. I also like features like album art downloading and maybe even lyrics search, but they aren't necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance

I can't recommend PlayerPro enough. it has a great UI, great features, a DSP pack, and great themes.
though if you want somethign a bit more lightweight (or somehting free) i also really like Google Play Music.
doubleTwist Pro. AirSync, Music Lover (EQ and HD album art download) and podcasts.

+1.
I personally don't like PowerAmp at all. PlayerPro has all the features that PowerAmp has but in a much nicer package.
If you want a free music player, then I suggest DoubleTwist player.
I'm using winamp. Not bad.
N7PLAYER
n7player is the best! It has all the best features. ALL! You will really like it. Try out!

Try all of the above, then try uber music! Then download the zune theme, and you will NOT find any music app more smooth than this one. Period.

I did a thorough research and wasn't satisfied. So I went about testing the music apps all by myself to get a clear idea. On a neck to neck comparison between Google Music, double twist, power player and player pro, player pro music clarity is stunning, especially when added with its dsp pack and perhaps if you also push the beats audio, there's no comparison at all!

[APP] Music Player with controls over lock screen?

Looking for an alternative to ³ music player that has the ability to change the song while the phone is locked. ³ has been freezing up on me lately. Any good alternatives?
Player pro, it costs but it has a volume button to change or even shake lol
Its LockScreen is sweet! Even with swype to change
Yup! Its a CMX Evo 4G LTE!
It'll check it out, I also found Poweramp which is pretty sweet!

What's the best music player available on Android?

Why do you use the music player you have? What makes it special? Plus, does it work well with iTunes?
Sent from my Cyanogenmod-Captivate.
Well, that depends on the person. Me personally I use either apollo or poweramp. In my opinion, Itunes sucks
Player Pro is the best for me,with lockscreen widget.

N7Player Lots of options, good sound, lockscreen overlay.
And I only use iTunes for my iPod, simply because I have no other choice. Every other moment it sits disabled on my pc untill I ask for it. Horrendously crap program.
I prefer Google Music, due to my small sdcard
Poweramp!!
I use either poweramp or Apollo. I like poweramp because it has the best eq out of all the players I've tried. Also it has a very great UI in that it is simple to use, and has a wealth of settings for a person who likes to dial in things. However, the downside is that it cost $4. Apollo also has a great UI too but there's no eq. However, when using viper4android (eq that works with ALL system sounds including music players) it makes it revivals poweramp's eq and sometimes surpasses it lol. So if you can't pay $4 you can go with the latter since it is free. Also I forgot to mention both have a lot of great themes but Apollo has more free ones and I don't use iTunes because imo it is too locked down and I'm not in Apple's ecosystem.

Poweramp is just awesome. You get a lockscreen app and automatically downloads album art (if you want). I guess the downside is that you have to pay for it. Worth it though.
Player Pro is freeeee music player with many features
I think it's the best player available in the market
I prefer walkman music player... It had clear audio and best bass booster that make ur music experience better

Just search walkman 4.6 on xda .. And u will found a thread by ibanez if not mistaken.. Then flash it through ur cwm recovery.. But before flash the walkman .. Remove ur other equalizer to prevent conflict..

N7 is cool and all, but I prefer Poweramp.

Gear 2 Media Controller on Third Party Apps

The Gear 3 Media Controller works for 3rd party apps but it doesn't display any information about the current song for example if I use PowerAmp it will just show the buttons but if I use the Music app in TouchWiz it will display the title of the song and also the cover art. Any solution for this except using the terrible music app by Samsung?
Just checked with Google Play, that seems fine, has to be a Poweramp problem
I use PlayerPro which has a setting to send the track info to the watch. Works fine!
