It's just been over twelve hours since Google announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a signed copy of the OS has already been leaked online for the Galaxy Nexus.
The leaked ROM is for 'takju', that is, the GSM Galaxy Nexus variant that has Google Wallet support but also runs fine on 'yakju', that is the standard variant of the GSM Galaxy Nexus, without any issues.
If you have either of these devices, click on the source link below and download the ROM. As usual, make sure you know what you're doing. Otherwise, you can always wait till next month to get it officially on our Nexus device.

I think that's right as I remember reading about it on a mobile news site.
BTW Jelly Bean is just a minor update & I think CM devs could port it to most of the handsets which have a working CM 9, here's to hoping we get our CM ROM soon.

waiting eagerly for CM 9 (it's all in Epsylon's hand's) hope he will not disappoint us:fingers-crossed: .....
Jelly Bean just released yesterday night and already Galaxy Nexus and HTC one X are having Android 4.1 port, so by seeing this i think its very easy for CM developers to port it again it's in Epsylon hands only...

all this indicates n stated earlier that porting jb from ics is nt a big deal...so calm down ppl lets have cm9 first...

This is what i was looking for as i don't want to spend too much on an android tablet as windows version is around the corner as well (q4 i think).
But do anyone know the price that is going to be set in the asian market (malaysia specifically as normally the dollar price (or MRP) is always cheaper than what the price hits here for gadget like these.

Does anyone know of a method that can stream videos of this device as i feel that it was on purpose to exclude it (just a speculation). Using wifi to stream (like the one that comes with samsung bloatwares)?

Mediashare, available on google play in both free and paid versions for streaming content over wifi

You can use AllShare too i.e. the Samsung bloatware you are talking about. It at least works without any issues.
BTW here's the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean changelog:
~ Project Butter has brought smoother and faster feeling user interface
~Improved notification center with expandable and actionable notifications
~Updated widget behavior
~Improved camera and gallery apps for easy photo snapping and sharing
~Improved keyboard behavior with with word prediction
~Added Accessibility options with support for external Braille input
~Enhanced Android Beam allowing transfer of photos and video
~Offline Voice recognition and typing
~Google Voice search is more intelligent than ever
~Updated Google Search user interface
~Google Now adds automatic information feeds to your device (weather, traffic, sports, etc)
~Bi-Directional text and additional language support
~Truly high-resolution contact photos
~USB audio output and HDMI multichannel audio output
~App encryption and Smart App updates
Source
Cheers !

[Q] P3110 Lost tablet UI on Jelly bean Official

Hi,
after I've upgraded to 4.1.1; I've seen that gt2 has lost the tablet UI that It has on previous ICS version 4.0.4.; and It looks like a definitive step.
For me it's a downgrade of the tablet.:crying:
There is some way to change the UI to tablet again without changing to ICS previous room?
Regards.

Actually , its not Samsung, its the way God and Google intended it.
Google choose this style for the Nexus 7 , therefore all 7 Inch Jelly Bean tabs get it... Thank ya Google.!!

Well, OEMs can do 'old' tablet UI if they want. But Samsung has decided to just go ahead and keep that aspect even while replacing other things with Touchwiz.
I find it stubborn of them. Google created their tablet UI and merged HoneyComb and Gingerbread into ICS and further but they are not capitalising on their innovation. Phone mode on 7" tablet is still fine but having it on Nexus 10 is just ugly and not ergonomic.
yeah, especially when trying to tap home on Landscape...
Good side on the new UI:
well, actually, none. most shortcuts from 4.0.4 in status and shortcut bar were removed.
-Except for the halo effect circle when you drag.
Bad side:
-Annoying to click from top then to bottom
-Trying to make it landscape, the feel is kinda annoying, like when you tap home on Landscape.
yeah and the worst there is no nicely working TabUI for DMA2 (4.1.2) out there...

It will be Google Galaxy Tab 2 instead of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 then
I think that smasung had remove them because the touch wiz ui is bloated with malware so that if you have 2 users your device will run like anccent times!! also hardware plays a good term here maybe it could be eneabled by mod ??? it is already in cm10.X

[PORT DISCUSSION] MIUIv5 for I9500 (Unofficial)

Hello XDA people,
Since I9500 launched, developers were little afraid to pick it up for development because of Samsung Exynos' isolated documentation. (I hate Samsung for that)
Then, Ethan Chen (@intervigilium) decided to accept the challenge and port CM for I9500.. He did well. He ported almost everything (except camera and some Bluetooth related content). InSignal released partial SoC documentation at the right time and yesterday they released gralloc header. That made development easier.. I hope we will see bug free CM build in upcoming weeks.
Ok, enough CM.
I always have been quite interested in MIUI. The way they built their own framework on the top of barebone android framework was impressive. MIUI is one of the best and buttery smooth ROM ever I have used.
I bought I9500 on the very first day of it's launch in India.. The very next day, I asked one question in MIUI forums, will it ever be launched for this device? Being Exynos powered device, I knew developers would hardly build it for this device.
Then again, unexpected things happened. Official team have decided to port it for this device.. But I know it will take long. Voting is still going on. But before that, I want to use my experience and skills to port MIUI on our beloved device.
I have started working on it. I will not publish anything on github yet. I will have to make sure that the experiment I am working on will work. But I will update you all with the progress here.
Some facts :
1. No, it will not be dependent on CM source as of now. I will port it on top of Samsung stock ROM (result, better stability and fully working features).
2. I will remove the TouchWiz layer. Not only the UI part but almost every library, classes (smali) and libs based on TouchWiz.
3. Add compiled MIUI classes and resources.
I will be tweeting (and later blogging after I set up my domain and workspace) updates and progress on my twitter account..
@rahulzeven
@Moderators : I hope I am allowed to open thread for Port discussions..
Thanks for your initiative.
All the best.
I think this is good for exynos, and using samsung base have less bugs.

[Q] Port stock note 10.1.

I just wondering, can we port stock rom from note 10.1 2014 edition, to note 10.1 2012 edition? because the feature from 2014 editon is so rich.
No the tabs are very different and you would be setting yourself up for a brick.

I don't think there are that many features we're missing anyway. We even have the Hancom Office Suite ported to the N8000. The upcoming 4.4 update would even help our tablets catch up with the 2014 version for a while (but given the changes that Google and Samsung have made, I may consider staying with 4.1.2).

I wouldnt say all of that, there arent enough changes at the moment to really care, Jelly Bean does most everything you could want and kitkat with touch wiz overlayed isnt kit kat, and otherwise if all kitkat then your note wouldnt be a note.

Just list it out already. For me it's the lack of Tablet UI in Android 4.2+ and especially the complete removal of Tablet UI codes in 4.4. About Samsung functionality you'll see the new Pen Windows as a lot of hassles compared to N8000's Cascade View. Regarding usability, what you actually use everyday are apps, not OS. As long as 4.1 can operate with the (absolute) majority of apps that 4.4 can, I will see 4.4 as just a minor update that should only be concerned about by programmers. Don't believe completely in advertisement, it's not as big of a change as from 2.3 to 4.0.

Google IO // ANDROID P BETA

Just watching Google IO and on the android p beta screen they had Nokia. Fair to assume that the Nokia 8 would be in the program but I can't seem to get mine to enroll.
You can try it for yourself at https://www.google.com/android/beta
Let me know.
It's only the 7 plus. No treble on 8.
Onoy pixel models i can see on this page
https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/developer It`s for TA-1046/1055 (7+ model). Well let`s hope that our model will get it soon too.
No on-screen buttons on the 8 either which given how you navigate in P is going to mean we either end up with reduced usable area on screen or a botched attempt at making it work.
We can use fingerprint gesture
Arent those gestures to replace the onscreen buttons only? If yes, we do not need them.

I am hoping the buttons remain as an option, i cant stand gesture control.
Thats why I preferred Nokia 8 as my phone over the other flagships like S8/1+1 and so on with infinite displays.
I think it came to N7+ because it's one of Android One mobiles. I don't think the beta program will reach N8 or another none-Android one mobile.
it will not be for now the nokia 8 does not have the project treble
As I know Nokia 8 is member of Android one Family, right ?
Nope
I have Nokia 8 too. Their website says it's not eligible to enroll in beta. It seems that as of now (6.8.2018.) sadly only Google phones can enroll in beta.
