Hello, I have got a Samsung Galaxy S3 from the UK running the latest ICS version.
I have a problem with the device regarding its arabic support. the problem is that the device reads arabic normally but doesn't have arabic as a language for the input or for the device itself, I downloaded many Arabic keyboards from the store and they all work fine with almost all the apps on the device such as twitter, whatsapp, email, etc..
but when I tried normal txt messages in messaging I can type in arabic but before sending the message the device gives me a warning which states that I need to configure the input's language so the recipient can get it normally but there is nothing in the settings that would solve this problem and when I send the message anyway as it is, it looks as ??? ( exclamation marks) on the recipient device but looks normal in my messaging conversation !
Is there any solution for this without flashing an arabic rom ?

On your Messaging settings select input mode to Automatic.

Why not to try to instal the Arabic stock rom?
There is no issue like that in it
you will keep wasting your time until you realize that you have to use an arabic rom .I've wasted about a week in searches all over google and then i've flashed official stock arabic rom and its just GREAT .

I have an I-Mate SP5 cell phone that English Windows. When I receive an Arabic text message, I could read the letter but they are displayed in a reverse order (left-to-right instead of right-to-left). How can I have my cell phone to display Arabic messages properly? Do I need to upgrade to a certain firmware?

You need to download the arabic package from clubimate.com site in the support area for SP5.
Thanks for the reply. Is it an add-on that goes in top of Windows Mobile or is it a new OS? Will I lose my old data (msgs, contcats, etc..)?

I am new here. I just bought a HTC 8525. I can not read the Arabic Text msgs I receive. all I see is highlighted boxes without any letters or words. Any suggestions? is there a file that i can download to encode the phone to display the Arabic text SMS?

I'm cooking English ROM for my M715 phone(a Korea version of I8000 by SamSung). But i have a problem in SMS.
In official ROM the SMS inbox control by Samsung SMS/MMS app, all SMS, MMS will be storage in 8GB memory flash, it mean they will not lose after Hard reset, flash ROM. But the language all in Korean and i cannot use, cannot writing in ABC letter.
I cook a new ROM and use I8000 OEMapps, the phone can send SMS but cannot receipt white the sender phone have a delivery report, it mean the SMS come to my phone already. but i don't see where it is because the are no notification, nothing come to Inbox of both Samsung SMS/MMS app and WM default app (tmail.exe).
I cook a new ROM, reuse the M715 OEMapps, but remove the file MMSfilter.exe, the phone cannot receipt SMS again. then i copy MMSfilter.exe to windows and run it. Immediately, the phone have a SMS notification I can read SMS by WM app (tmail.exe) , after that the Message Inbox in WM default app(tmail.exe) disappear , now it have only email inbox. The SMS will come to Samsung SMS/MMS, Korean again .
I use OEMapp from China forum Kingmobi.net, now the phone can received SMS but it go directly to inbox without any notification. I must open inbox if i want to know i have a new SMS or not. I post the question in that forum but no answer.
Anyone can help me to fix this problem?

I have same trouble with SMS on SCH-M715. Cannot send/recieve SMS after I upgrade from original Korean 6.5 ROM to M715.DB22 English ROM (M715_korea_to_english) from GSM forum.

I just got the Triumph, rooted it, Installed CWM, and loaded the latest MIUI.
I can send regular (english) SMS messages with no problem. When I try sending Chinese, the receiver doesn't get the Pinyin characters. The receiver gets a line of garbage (question marks, commas, etc). The same happens in reverse. When someone sens me a message in Chinese, I just get garbage instead of Pinyin.
I read somewhere there is a fix for this... a hack, if you will. I can't remember exactly, but it has something to do with the stock message app forcing 7-bit characters? Any ideas on how to fix this?
A friend of mine has this exact problem.
The only difference is that he uses CM7 and tries to send messages in Cyrillic (the alphabet, that is used in Russian and some other Slavonic languages)
Hi there,
I am trying to send sms in Hebrew in my moto g , kitkat and it does not work (The os is in full Hebrew from Google).
when i am writing a text in Hebrew and sending it , the message appears to be empty (and the recipient getting an empty message).
In my previous galaxy 2 there was a setting under SMS->settings to change the sending mode to auto that fixed this issue.
I can't find this settings in the new hangout.

Update:
At the moment , the only way to overcome the problem is just installing a third party sms app.
It is a bit silly that google merged the sms and hangouts all together and removed the access to the setting to resolve it...
I have installed chompsms from the play store
If anyone has a way to solve it with the built in apps , I would appreciate it.

1/ I've problem with Google Messsenger : img inside mms sended by form Iphone7 never displayed inside google messenger. I've a message about message no longer available or timeout. Same pictures are receive ok with sotck sms application.
Anyone have this problem ?
2/ Dictionnary FR never used inside SMS/MMS application any way to fix it (with out reset )?

I have the MHA-L29. Same issue with Messenger. I just check the stock app for MMS.
I use swiftkey and have no problem with english dictionary.
