Anyone with an USB Dac like the Fiio E7 mind checking to see if it works through the USB OTG cable? Thx

Just wondering. You still need an OTG cable to connect camera/drive/other, right?

Yes, you can't get around physical wiring differences.
USB cable for xoom
Surely you can use the USB cable that came with the xoom and attach a female to female adpator and run your camera cable from that. You dont really need to buy a specific OTG cable. Well I think that would work.
Nope is doesn't you need a otg cable. I tried it myself a few months ago, ended up buying 3 cables to get that worked.

The wire that comes with your Xoom is wired differently than an OTG cable. The Xoom wire is a client wire. The OTG is a host.
But with 3.1 + an OTG cable, can you use the USB Host function without this hack :http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/15979-hack-enable-usb-host-mode-ie-thumb-drives-on-the-xoom/ ?
You just plug your OTG cable and it works ?
It seems there is still no way for a stock user to use a USB stick via the OTG cable because there is no app that recognizes it that way, Android still requires root to access the file system or both.

What are you talking about? It comes with a mini usb to hdmi dongle. Just plug in your charger to the dongle and hdmi cable into dongle and then the tv. What extra cable you talking about? The power cable?
If the atrix cable works, let us know!

I bought a cheap adapter female USB2.0 to Male MicroUSB so I can try the dslr controller apps in the market. I basically want to connect my DSLR to my phone.
I thought USB OTG is supported in ICS but somehow the app still can't recognize my camera or usb flash drive at all.
I am running ICS from mhx. Superlite 5.0
No other strange configurations.
Is this kernel related?
Can a dev/community englighten me?
I can confirm that usb devices work. Is your cable a OTG host adapter. Dslr controller requires you to have camera on then plug into phone. My usb stick shows up in /sdcard/usbStorage.

which kernel are you using? and which software you running?
What i bought is a basic "Male microusb with a female USB regular size"
romracer's unsecure kernel
one of the original deodexed slightlyunbloated ics releases
i bought a USB OTG cable from newegg

I had a USB OTG cable from my SGSII and it worked great but when i plug it into my one X (rogers) nothing happens.
Should something be enabled somewhere? am i missing something? Are there different OTG cables?
It probably must be enabled in a custom kernel. I wouldn't fret..just be patient.

thank god my samsung MHL adapter works
I've got an existing OTG cable with micro USB. Does that work for things like thumb drives and mice using the adapter?
If not, would this work?

thanks..
It comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. You should be able to plug your thumb drive or mouse into that.

I don't know why they would get rid of something as old as OTG support so I'm assuming that yes it will work.
yes otg works and the samsung smart switch lets you plug one phone into the other and transfer data
Just reading through the AT&T manual: it states clearly that OTG will not work through the supplied USB connector (p9). Nor can you use it to charge the Note 7 from a computer (p12).
With built-in battery too - hope the Note 7 isn't just another pretty fetish.

Well all of the above work on my T-Mobile variant.
On my t-mobile Note 7, I cannot get my Dragonfly Red to work via USB OTG.

It is a DAC/Preamp. So you use the included microUSB to USB C adapter for your OTG cable?
Yup

idk but all my jump drives work just fine, same as my s7 edge.
just plug them into the usb c otg and tranfer files via samsung file app
Ok. I just realized that there is an otg usb to usb c adapter in the box. That one actually works just fine with my external dac.

I can't get my Oppo HA-2 DAC to work at all. I tried using the included adapters but nothing. I went and bought a USB - USB C cable and that also didn't work. The only way I have been able to get audio is to use a standard charging cable (USB - MicroUSB) and put the USB C adapter on the MicroUSB end. However this charges the Oppo from the Note 7 and I can't disable that. Will burn through the battery in no time! Not sure what else to try at this stage
+1 I have successfully used a SanDisk 8gb flash drive with an aftermarket Rankle usb adapter. I have an AT&T Note 7.
Cheers

I use the included USB-USB C adapter with a USB -USB Mini(?) and my Fiio Alpen. As you mentioned, the Note7 charges the DAC. This also happened with my Note4. You should be able to use a wireless charging pad to charge the Note7 at the same time. That's what I did when I was transferring files between phones. It's transportable but not very mobile.
My little micro usb fan does NOT work with the included usb 3 to microusb connector. So, i'm gonna assume OTG doesnt work as it used to.
