I just got my LG OPTIMUS ONE P500 stolen a 3days ago, I am so pissed right now, but hey what can I do... I live in mysore, so no warranty and no police claim will get it back for me...
I never kept my gps enabled unless I was using it so no tracking software will be able to track my phone, I already blocked my number with my carrier so I guess there is not much I can do to track it.
at present i m trying to install plan b & android lost to track my mobile.
is der any other way to get back my stolen phone
please help me guys....
Thanks,
Nope. I was going to suggest AndroidLost but you've already tried that. Now, just pray that they work. Good luck, kano.
Consider this a learning experience and install tracking software on your next Android, or this one if you find it. I suggest AndroidLost.
if you have the phone imei it's simple for a carrier to track the phone, sadly this can be done only by police request !

Love Tyn!
help !!! need help finding my mobile
2day i lodged a complaint in police station, bt those people r saying it is impossible to find the mobile now a days as der is development of softwares which can change the mobile imei number.
is dat true or they just bluffing ?
It's true but this can be done by higly skilled people. So, depends on who stole your phone, if it is an ordinary person it is highly unlikely it has changed the imei, if it is a phone technician (or if the phone was given to him) then may have already changed the imei, but who knows? Surely if you had been the son of a minister, the police would be really committed to find the phone, I'm sorry not to be able to help more
thanks bro for replying.....

Not in the UK, in america, yes, but in the UK there is no law for OR against it.
This discussion is moot. Once the neighbour in question notices internet slow-down, he will likely wise up and lock you out. It's not difficult at all.
My guess is, just as you get comfortable, you will fined yourself in need of a new access point - if not you are in luck!
oops, really stupid typo.

im afraid that is not quite rigth,check this out;
"Gaining unauthorised access to someone else's network is an offence and people have to take responsibility for their actions. Some people might argue that taking a joy-ride in someone else's car is not an offence either," he said.
Gaining unauthorised access to a computer is an offence covered by the Computer Misuse Act. In Straszkiewcz's case, he was prosecuted under the Communications Act and found guilty of dishonestly obtaining an electronic communications service.
"I guess, and it is a guess, that they couldn't prove he accessed the actual computer and that is why they used another legal avenue," said Mr Janes.
But whatever route the case took, the outcome proves that borrowing someone else's network is not as harmless as the hobbyist wi-fi user might think.
Lax security

Hello, You aren't allowed to post you email apparently and it has been removed.
Making this forum the only way for us to help you.
First of all you should ensure wether you have a MileStone (EU) or Droid (US)
You can tell by looking at your phone and checking if it says Verizon.
If it does, I can't help you any further and you should ask for help in the Droid forums. If it doesn't, I'm close to sure we can help you out
So now that you know which phone you have, you've probably done half of the work already. I can't really tell what your problem is, but I guess you have these 2 issues:
1, You have no GPS-Application. You can buy, or get one for the phone. I'm talking about softwares like Navigon and iGo, which aren't free though, but allow you to navigate without internet (for if you don't have an internet contract.)
If you don't want to pay any money and own an internet subscribtion in your contract, you can just use Google Maps to navigate! Update it through the android market and you're good to go!
2, Now for the second issue:
Unfortunately we don't have any chance of getting custom roms! Only the Motorola Droid Does! There is a way through nandroid backups, but seen the fact that you are just new to the whole thing, I'd recommend you to explore the forums and later on install MotoFrenzy, or the official update to Froyo from motorola, which they will, according to them, release by the end of 2010
Hope I helped!
Greetings, Mike
Greetings Users,
I have, doubt. I run a repair shop and i was asked something interesting that i did not have the answer to.
One of the questions was this, the client had a phone he claimed he bought it online and was having an uneasy feeling, i thought to myself it was a guilty conscience because he probably stole it, anyways, he asked if IMEI numbers could be traced internationally. I explained that there are various ways on getting it traced inside the US but was not sure nor aware if international IMEI tracking was possible. So my question to the community is this, can IMEI number be traced internationally?
i know to trace nationally you need to file police reports and have the IMEI blacklisted and report the phone as stolen to the operator. So im stumped.
The other was from a client who tends to visit France a lot and asked if a criminals phone could be traced the same way, internationally. I laughed a bit and told him that if it was possible then we would be in a much safer place, but alas the question has alos been on the back of my head and cannot shake it. Please answer my questions, I am in much need of guidance.
Thank you.
~kflynn26~
Yes tracing through IMEI Internatiinally is possible,
If the person is know or seen or in some records.

Technically i dont really care since this happened a couple of months ago, but they did buy from me, parts for their phones. It was bugging me and Google didn't really help me much on the subject, so i decided to ask XDA. It was just curiosity of mine to know this.
Hey I was wondering if someone can help me, I started talking to this female online which was from my city and everything just seemed to good to be true even her looks so I know this usually means it is, anyway I got her mobile number and then a few weeks later she said she got offered a job in America and moved there quite quick, she text me when she arrived and has been texting quite a lot but her number hasn't changed its still a uk number and I honestly feel like one of my friends is doing this or its an ex that's doing it, I know xda isn't here for this kind of thing but I want to know if there is a way I can find out what country there in by the mobile number I am not looking for a exact location just a country and without asking her, is there some way I can find out any help would be great as i believe someone is doing this to either joke with me or find out what I am doing thanks guys.

To anyone that has the time an is smart enough to help me. I have two very questionable roommates. I have a Samsung A32. My room mates are "wanna be hackers". Well about a week ago i was on a jobsite till about 8 pm. Came home passed out. Woke up next day an they was acting shady as hell. Ever sonce that day my emails, my phone, my service.... hardly any of it works. Ive lost about 800$ from purchases made from my phone that i didnt make. Long story short ive read about phone an sim card cloning but im 45 years old an i know nothing of this..... My question.... Can anyone help me find out whats happened to my phone? Walk me through it? Cause the roomates i speak of are my girlfriends 18 an 24 old sons. And i would need to be able to prove this is happening so i dont feel horrible kicking my girls kids out. If someone could help me prove this or if someone could help me stop this from happening. All advice will be much appreciated an wont be forgotten. Thank you

Theres tons more to it then this. This is just basic. If u have any questions about any of this info ask please. This is a mess
submit error report to samsung members app > get help > error report . then title it something like "I've been hacked" or "suspected hacking"
there is a separate team that handles hacking issues at samsung. Hope you get your $ back (this part you'll have to talk to your bank and ask for help for suspected theft/hack/fraud)
Yeah, I tried that on advice from a co worker. Samsung said I was pretty much screwed on return cause it was a At&t problem. So At&t trouble shot, but did no good. Is there no way to just find out what happened an when? I appreciate you commenting. Please anymore advice will be greatly appreciated.

did you call samsung or did you report error as I suggested? calling them only gets you to Customer Service agent that works off of scripts.
Reporting error gets it to the engineers who look through the logs and analyze device events.
If it is hacking then as noted before, the team that deals with hacking will help you out... otherwise samsung engineers should be able to identify what the potential cause of this is.
Similar with AT&T, unless the engineers have the device with them or is able to look into the software to analyze the events recorded... there's not a whole lot they can do.
If you've already submitted an issue ticket and that's the reply that you got back... then I don't know what else to tell you
Go to the police? You seem to have some answers already if you suspect sim cloning...

yea... that could be one option I suppose. As long as you don't mind making the 'friend' relationship awkward a.f. by bringing in the police. If they aren't that close in the frist place and you can manage to break ties with them, then sure... I'd go for it as well.

unlock as in root the phone or unlock as in release the phone from being locked to Tmobile? if the latter, then you just need to pay off the phone or wait a few months (depends on the TMobile rules on unlocking the phone) and ask for the phone to be unlocked.
