htc desire error 152 help me pls.. - General Topics

i got error 152 when i update the rom of my htc desire a8181.. my hboot is 1.02 Radio-4.06.00.02.2.....
what is the best rom for my htc?

This could be u installed a rom not compatible with your hboot. I'm not familiar with that exact error number but usually when u can't boot the easiest way to fix this would be to download stock rom from HTC (requires stock hboot). Boot your phone into fast boot and install it. It will detect your phone on your computer. This will required u to reroot to get root back. Simple enough using unrevoked3. I've had to do this before.
Or... u could try reinstalling hboot from alpharev, boot into clockwork mod and then install another rom. Preferably use a rom that u know works for the boot u chose.

So how'd u go mate? Need any help?

I try to instal 3 diferent ruu and all of them show me id error, how to find correct one ??
For some roms you need a special firmware. And in order to get these you need to have supercid. In this forum are alot of howtos to reach that. There is also a flashable firmware where you do not have to be supercid. Good luck
any sample?
Which Rom did you try to flash? Did you use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 ???
Ok, reading helps alot. So you say you are not s-off and not rooted... there it is, our problem. You have to get s-off and root your phone, otherwise it won't work. Just use that guide! Good luck

[Q] Downgrade from android 4.0 to 2.3 on sensation

Hello xda users.
I want to root my sensation, and therefor i need to get it from android 4.0.3 to 2.3 so it can be possible for me to do.
My HTC
HTC Sensation Z710e
Android 4.0.3
Sense 3.6
Softwarenumber 3.32.401.5
Here is the thing, ive looked around for hours on filefactory.com
put i cant seem to find a file that can put my sensation back to stock rom, so i can start root it. Could any of you be kind and help an noob out here?
Are you S-ON?
Yes S-on ..
you can root your ICS with S-On
Go to htcDev and unloock your phone
flash in a new recovery using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" using the recovery.img file extracted from PG58IMG.zip
then using cwr flash the updatede SU
Boom! your root
using htcdev unlock whill wipe all your programs and settings AND void your waranty. and u might brick your phone
AND FYI u cant downgrade your Hboot if u are S-ON and the new 1.27 is imposible at this time to get s-off
i will go do that asap ..
Thank you for your quick answers ..
Best regards

THe line "then using cwr flash the updated SU", can you explain further please?
Use CWM (Clockwork Mod) to flash the SU package - if you don't know how to do that then don't even try
i do know what that is, its just my english isnt that well.
i went to htcDev, and unlocked my sensation.
then i got rom manager on android market and tried Flash Cwr but im stuck at here..

ROM Manager needs root to function, and since you don't have root yet you'll have to flash the recovery through fastboot. Then you can install Superuser through your recovery.
But wait, you want to downgrade to Gingerbread? You won't be able to do that since your device will still be S-ON, and Gingerbread won't boot on HBOOT 1.27 (necessarily for ICS).
So the thing Maydayind said about
"you can root your ICS with S-On"
What did he mean with it ?
Update user Dictionary in Android 4.x

Anyone who has an app where you can update many words into the user Dictionary?

[Q] Update being blocked?

Hey,
[i'm new here, but i couldn't find a post with this exact problem]
I've been using my HTC Sensation rooted for about 8 months now on 2.3.4/5, and with ICS officially being released i want to update to ICS.
I do have my phone rooted but i do not have any custom roms installed.
In theory it should just update OTA to ICS but when i try to update it my phone reboots and then it gives me this image of an android mascot besides a warning mark (the image didn't work.). Is this superuser blocking the update?
Now i'm wondering what is the best way to get ICS update to work.
At this moment i don't care if i lose the root on my device.
I've been thinking about flashing it so that it would remove the root, make it S-on and remove superuser. (basically make it like it was when i bought it.) and then updating it to ICS.
Any help with my problem or on how to handle the flashing will be appreciated.
If you're rooted, download 4EXT updater, flash 4EXT recovery, flash the 3.32 firmware, then flash an ICS rom.
If i'm correct that will give me a custom rom.
And at the moment i would like to keep the rom stock because i would like all the options to work.
If i'm wrong and it will update to stock rom, then i'll give it a go.
Otherwise is there a way to update to stock rom?
You can't be rooted to flash the OTA, and you HAVE to have the stock recovery too
alright so i need to unroot the phone and somehow manage to uninstall superuser (if it doesn't uninstall with the unrooting).
So my question then is,
Is this possible to unroot the device?
Maybe someone can link me to a good tutorial ?
You need to restore stock recovery and your oringinal Rom intact ( not delete apps in the stock rom). Stock recovery can be obtained from RUU.
Or just flash New firmware and custom Rom if your phone is s-off.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA Premium HD app
alright, can i use any vodafone stock recovery for my device?
and is there a tutorial around? for noobs like me?

Guide for debranding or going back to stock.
Basically you need to download your stock RUU and go back to your original CID (if you supercided).
The guide basically covers almost all your concern in returning to stock rom and recovery.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
i'll give that a go tomorrow and let you guys know what happend.
[dumb noob question!! this should make my phone look like it was when it came out of the box right?]
If i'm correct i need a RUU.
Is it possible to do this tutorial using the OTA update file i got for the ICS update?
Update
So,,
After 2 days of trying to download a good RUU file.
I still don't have it, filefactory always says that the free download slots are all taken.
So i would love if someone could tell me if it is possible to just flash the update file called:
OTA_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.5_R-1.50.401_release_252072fll6erqo75dsziua.zip
I would appreciate a reply telling me if this is possible or why it is not possible.
As said, you need to be on a stock unrooted rom and stock recovery.
Is your phone branded or unbranded. What RUU were you trying to download? 1.50.401.1 or else?
Also, did you supercid or not? if yes, you need to go back to original CID to get OTA.
Do not attempt do flash the OTA.zip from a custom recovery because it will fail.
I have RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_R_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_228602_signed wich is the latest GB for european unbranded devices. If this is what you are looking for, I could upload it for you. Let me know.
@kualmente
I would appreciate it if you could upload your RUU so i can use it.
As for the phone,
I still have stock rom and recovery, i only rooted it and did supercid.
So when i have a RUU file for my unbranded Sensation i can follow this toturial:

Just a idea?

Can I flash back to stock rom by downloading the rru and finding the rom. Zip inside then flash with clockwork mod? I wanted the eng hboot from here to flash to stock but have search the whole net and the links are all dead
ENG Hboot:
[thanks Rahan95 for dumping ]
81.89.105.12/~bin4ry/hboot/PG58IMG.zip
So can I just flash back to the stock rom and still be rooted via clockwork?
Or does anyone own that file?
.............. Help thank you

You are confusing key terms, clockwork mod is not root. Root is where you have a superuser app and binary inside the ROM. Clockwork is a custom recovery that allows you to flash a package to root your phone.
rom.zip files wont flash through clockwork mod or any recovery. What you need to do is rename the rom.zip to PG58IMG.zip then open it up in 7zip or similar and delete the recovery.img file. Then copy the file to the root of your SD card and boot into hboot then follow the onscreen instructions to flash it
If you flash a stock ROM you won't be rooted anymore. Why would you wanna do that. There are lots if costom ROMs that look like stock, they are rooted and have many other features
I want to get rid of root a d the custom rom because I have smashed the glass screen and the usb charger is broke so can't use the pc to flash to stock.
So what your saying is dl the custom rru get the rom. Zip then change the name and try to flash through hboot.
And this will unroot and return to to stock.
No need for that other file I've been looking for for hours now

Already answered your question HERE
Don't open multiple threads for the same answer. You CAN'T revert completely to stock(ROM, locked, s-on) withous usb connection. The only thing you can do is flash a custom ROM that looks like stock

Hi,
Did you make a nandroid backup before you started.
If so,restore it .
If not,why not?
Look HERE
Follow the thread to get 4EXT recovery on your phone ,and using "Smartflash" to get custom ROMS onto your phone.
Use fastboot usb and try flashing boot.img over adb. It worked for me

i have a similar problem. cm10 will install it all goose good until you get to the setup part then it reboots. everytime.almost like a bootloop. i have s-off. unlocked bootloader, supercid. but my hboot is 1.17.0008. i went thru revolutionary do i need to update my hboot and do the hole root over useing jb? the onlything i can think of.........any ideas???
Yes, firmware 1.17 will ALWAYS cause reboots on android 4.x. Update your firmware (probably to 3.33)
Look here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154
Follow all instructions to update firmware. You basically put the file on your SD card and boot to bootloader. The bootloader should update the firmware from there.
Sent from my Ouya
Had this problem too until I used 4ext with the smart flash option. no real need to s-off now.
