i was ONLY texting when that happend. thats why im like wtf happen
Edit: now i figure out that the screen will freeze if i write to fast and it will turn to the black and white with mini colored pixel if i press the lock button but swiping the kb in and out will fix it... so what the problem?this is crazy

Well general rule of thumb for fixing broken stuff, fix the cheapest problems first.
Try switching roms and see if it still does that. If it does, it might be a bad screen.

Broken Digitizer.
Go here to ix it.
But before you do this. If you have a 3.5mm out, plug your phone into your TV. Then see if it acts up on there (TV), if yes. Software/Rom issue. If not, repair the screen.

[Q] Is there a problem with my myTouch 4g?!?!?

Can you guys do me a favor and check if there is a problem with my mytouch? Go somewhere where you can see your background well like the homepage or the messaging app preferably. Now at the center of your screen press pretty hard with your thumb and hold it there for a second or two. Do you guys also get that rainbow effect like when you press an lcd monitor, and then hear like a click when you let go? As long as you guys can replicate that I'm good.
Nope, I dont get that.

balls........
one of the demo phones did this at the store, looked like someone damaged the screen by pressing to hard. even when you touched it lightly on that spot it gave the rainbow effect. im not going to push that hard on mine to try and recreate it. to me it sounds like your screen is damaged.
no because mine only happens when i press moderately hard.
Well thats good it doesnt do it all the time, mine doesnt change colors with moderate pressure.

Some huge troubles with screen

Hello, I have an issue with screen - it is very dark and it is even twice as darker as it used to be, and its just unusable
I don't really know why it is so - it can't be a physical damage, because I've been using this device for 3 months and never dropped it. BTW such issue was 3-4 or for times before and was cured by rebooting - now it doesn't help and even charging phone doesn't solve this problem.
I've been using the ROM - Cognition (some of the latest) and will try to flash back to stock, maybe it will solve my problem
Have you guys had such issue?
Have you tried changing you brightness settings?
after unlocking the screen slide your finger over status bar at top or where it should be if u could see it and see if that works.
lol, I know how to change brightness of the screen) but that's was awful, very dark screen and seemed like broken. after charging to 100% now it is fine, but I afraid I will have the same issue in the future

not a USA citizen....
I even have no idea, why it happened, maybe because of that so much cold weather in Russia?
is this only happening when the battery charge is less than 10%? If so, that's by design.

today I was told that it's the screen problem and the only thing I can do is to replace it with the other screen, but unfortunetly, european Samsung Galaxy S screen is a bit different and the only place where I can replace it is the United States...
buy buy captivate, hello HTC Desire HD (or motorola defy, not sure yet)

Lines on screen & flickering when taking pix and videos?

I was trying to video something today and it would just reset to the home screen after a few seconds of recording.
Also when taking pictures, it would have lines on the screen and sometimes freeze the image (distorted) on the screen.
I do notice three dead pixels as well on the screen...
Anyone experiencing anything similar?
Not at all... You might havve gotten a defective one

Mine is doing this same thing. Pink and or green lines on the camera screen?
It must be defective an unit my work perfectly fine.
Mine just started to do this, i had it for like 2 months.
Its not defective. You have to close every service that has to do with the camera, and clear the data/cache of those services. Also close htc sense. Its in the settings somewhere in your phone, u can fix this yourself

i'm thinking it's software because the guy at the TMO store fixed it for me within a couple minutes, he said the same thing happened to his friend and he hooked me up. u just have to clear data/cache of htc sense as well as any of the apps that have to do with the camera.

IT happens on my senseless ROM. I'm leaning toward hardware

The green and pink lines happened to me once, when I was 100% stock, so it's definitely not anything to do with roms..
Happened to me once. Rebooting the phone solved the problem.
Just another data point for reference. I've seen this on my CM7 ROM once, but a reboot solved it.
hardware failure or software problem?
I need to pull the battery off and reboot to solve the problem @@

Like I said in another thread some time ago. Windows, games,... everything has bugs at start, but with time most of them get solved

It shouldn't be any hardware bugs at the start when buying a expensive phone like this.
I have this on my phone too, just took it out of the box...dang this post, I was looking for it from the start.
Are people waiting on this in hopes it's a software/refresh glitch, or exchanging their phone?
I don't have a T-mobile store here in town, just a stand at the mall How do I convince them to stare at the screen long enough to notice it?

It could be a software bug too.
When people get their display replaced the problem is solved.

I think this is what im experiancing as well. If thats the case then I would assume its a software bug. Testing with auto off right now.

nothing really... i just bought it and used it, i did not mod it..
I was able to turn it on, just one time... and it get to samsung and the sound from the booting screen made a strange noise, after that im not able to turn it on but it still looping on battery like the video
Then its not likely a software brick.
Its extremely possible that the battery is bad or that a wire may be loose inside
