[Q] Unroot my SGSII

Ok,
I'm trying to Unroot my phone and I've looked all around, including outside of XDA and I cannot find a fix. The K0nane method is a no go. Everytime I run it through ODIN it fails, giving me the DL screen of death on my phone. (phone----caution-----computer) I have to reflash the CWM .zip and it works again.
Can someone please PLEASE point me in the direction of a comprehensive unroot method? It would be greatly appreciated.
(yes I've looked, I've searched, I've combed, I cannot find anything that works for my Skyrocket.)
Any idea why Odin method doesn't work? Try the tar from sammy. Try a different version of Odin. Try a different computer or USB slot. Theres no reason it shouldn't work. Maybe reinstall drivers. Have you tried all that?
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Have you Odin'ed the .tar from sammobile.com yet? It will take you back to original 2.3.5 unrooted and 3e recovery. Seems you are comfortable with Odin. Your phone will be unrooted. Make a backup of calls, schedules, messages and etc. With Kies then restore after you flash back to stock. You will have to redownload all of your apps. If you had a nandroid of 2.3.5 you could restore it then use the zergrush exploit to unroot.

Make sure your phone is connected via USB at moment you place the phone into firmware update (download mode) konane tar and Odin should work I hope that this is mistake you are making and that it works out for you mate.
---------- Edit---------
Make sure the phone is hooked up to the computer and then do the same step you would do to place the phone into recovery mode, without the USB cable connected your phone will not go into download mode. Make sure none of the boxes on the top are checked in.
Hey thanks guys, i'm looking into all of this asap. I appreciate all.the responses as soon as i'm back to a computer thanks to all.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Odds are if it doesn't work for your skyrocket means you are doing it wrong . Odin failing can happen for a variety of reasons. Bad usb cable, not using a Motherboard usb port on PC (if desktop use rear USB ports, don't use any adapters or external USB hubs), not using Download mode. Just to be sure run ODIN as admin. Plenty of references in general and Q&A.

Rooting was the easy step and from experience Samsung has the easiest to root phones. Mind you i'm saying this based on the blood, sweat and tears of the devs who paved the way. This is a great community and the tools available are awesome.
even for the absolute noob the"all in one" guide in the Dev forum is awesome. Hell even for someone not new to it the all in one rocks!
Again thanks so much guys, and for the record, after getting flamed enough times in the past for posting a question that I know damn well has been asked, yes I'll dump HOURS into combing the threads and googling and checking various other sources before I ask anymore. I never knew a community of people could be so hostile towards someone for asking, god forbid I was the pinnacle of noob and got some of the responses on a question that I've gotten in the past for various other phones and issues.

Not too recently. It just happens from time to time. You get people who instead of just shaking their heads and moving on they would rather let you know that your post insults them because they took the time to read a lot of similar posts...really its as easy as saying to one self "another one, really?" Then moving on.

There is official CM9 support, theres also official AOKP support so if you want to go for any of those just head over to the discussion threads in general. Many new good roms being produced since official ICS came out yesterday so just head over to the development forum and you'll see a lot. UCLF6 is the latest ICS so those based around that version will have the most recent one. :good:

Got my SR a month ago and the development seems to have really picked up. Big thank you to all the devs, more options than I can handle. I don't think we're missing any big name roms, maybe slimics if that even counts but Nexus is just that. Official CM and AOKP is a big plus and will provide long term development should things slow down.

1. Enter fastboot on your phone

3. open cmd or terminal or whatever then type the commands below
4. Enjoy!
Someone's got to tell me if it works
Ok So Here is the commands:

The fact that this will flash mbm.bin, tells me you have not done your research..... that file right there is the new bootloader, and it will brick your phone.
Please erase this post... you will cause more bricks... Us devs have this under control, please let us do what we do best.. we will have a fix.

I am telling you that the mbm.bin is what is bricking people.... Have you been paying attention to all the bricking threads? both the scripts (which by the way I have written one that does exactly what you have posted), and RDS lite do the same freakin' thing, but they both brick the phone at flashing the mbm.bin file.
Please, I beg you to take this thread down, there will just be more bricks.

Not trying to piss anyone off but this ics leak has done nothing but cause headaches for everyone in one way or another. We all should let the devs handle everything from this point on. If you think you have a fix that will help the community out just pm one of the devs and ask them first before posting anything to the general community. I'm sure that they would not mind a simple pm instead of a new thread being started.

Well, there is no working CWM, or any recovery method for that matter, so we also can't build and flash ROMs, and we can not perform nandroid backups as well with out CWM. Overclocking, init.d, 1% battery mod bootloops the phone, and several other things.

Umm, jim? I actually disagree with you. For once, lol. Bootstrap and cwm are working fine for me. I used it to flash altered's carrier remover zip.
Worked fine. Although i won't be flashing anything else till we can find a safeguard. Should i try to make a backup through cwm? Haven't yet. A bootloop, for any reason, is death right now...
EDIT: And for pete's sake people, just because i says it works FOR ME, doesn't mean you should try to use it. We have no backup right now. Lord, I shouldn't have to edit my posts like this lol.

Way too many d-bags on XDA. Yes, he posted in the wrong forum, now he knows and I'm sure a mod will move it. Saying it over and over again and being a d-bag while doing it, doesn't help anyone.
OP, as others have stated, you are probably best off going back to a stock rom from Odin and ensuring you have a proper recovery flashed. Then start over with whatever it was you were trying to do.

You will lose about $50 but it beats the alternatives
Advice for next time...Please read! This can only happen if you don't read very carefully before you flash. Every flash can potentially brick your phone if you aren't careful.

Well Phonebricker is a rom for the i777 and i9100. But because you installed it on the skyrocket you actually got it to live up to its name. Congrats.

The title is ROMs for skyrocket and they have i777 and i9100 ROMs. That site is incredibly misleading. Though the link to phone Bricker leads to an i777 thread. Either way enjoy your brick.

Oh bitter sweet irony. A rom named PhoneBricker bricked his phone... that's gold... pure gold.
Anyways...your phone is broken. The only way to fix is with a jtag service.

First off, wrong section. Second off I'm disappointed in the way the community reacted. Since you got a answer Thread locked. @OP Do your own research and don't blindly follow what some site says is better.
