What's a good rom? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi guys I'm wondering what would be a good customizable rom other than cm and steel droid for the og droid. Is miui ics available for the og droid?

[Q] Porting Gingerbread + Motoblur from Atrix

I read that Atrix has already gingerbread with the latest version of MOTOBLUR. Has anyone thought about porting?
Its probably a better idea to port it from the Droid x or Droid two. Only because, you know, same screen resolution.
We already have our own gingerbread and new MOTOBLUR for this device and it works like a charm

It does work great - unless your have a green camera lense the you're out of luck!
I would welcome a Atrix or Droid gingerbread port though!
Andy
Yeah ha I feel sorry for you. But who's to say that the port from DROID or ATRIX will support green lens? :/ only time will tell if someone does decide to port

Yeah I would definitely get it if I could, seems it is only going to be GSM. If they released a global version that I could put on Verizon or USCC I would grab it in a heartbeat. Specs are fantastic and miui is my favorite rom

Its supposed to be both WCDMA and GSM

Need Help Deciding

So I have the opportunity right now to exchange my droid charge with my moms droid x. Now the droid x has miui and cm7 and alot more development and roms but im not sure if its worth leaving this phone. what are you guys's opinion? DX or DC?(just to make it clear, it the original droid x, not the droid x 2) thanks in advance!
I also just learned that they almost have a fully functional ics ..they're only missing mms, and speakerphone bbasically

It really depends on you. I am a flashaholic, but there are many things that I would give up for the Charge if given a Droid X.
Super AMOLED Plus v LCD
4G v 3G
Those are the two things that I wouldn't give up.
No. just, no.

Hands down the screen does it for me. No way I let go of the charge for that phone. Maybe for a nexus.

If you gotta ask, I suppose that you haven't used the Droid X. I think it's a downgrade in every way.

Well I have used it, but I mean, I haven't gotton a chance to flash a rom on it and see how it performs with ics or cm7 or miui. I think we can all admit that this is a good phone, but any other okay phone with aosp might perform better in daily use

Keep your charge, good things are coming. And when it does you'll wish you still had your charge.
Patience is a virtue.

The DX is just an old, slower phone. It's past its prime.

Even with cm9 cm7 and miui? I mean, they are bboth 1000mhz...the only difference is lte on the charge(which I dont have in my area) ALOT more development on the dx, and the screens

Isn't the DX powered by Snapdragon? Hummingbird>
Snapdragon. Also, the gpu in the charge is better.

A smart choice, IMO.
I would load up either Infinity or Tweakstock.
Then I would flash ICS Fugu and run the V-6 and Scheduler Changer scripts.
I personally overclock, but to each their own.

Well Im playing around with my moms x and...with iics running, I feel as if it is much better then the charge on either of the roms. Its not like taking the x effects my upgrade....im reconsidering now...

Hell yea man that's lookin real fresh. I'm coming from the OG droid n I'm struggling big time to figure out what to flash. Seems like cm9/10 have loss of dAta issues which I don't want. What Rom or theme u running to get that?

Star wars theme rom?

Anybody know where Drew Garren roms ever went? I would love a R2D2 themed rom for the S3 like the droid x..
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I bet it would be easier for someone to make a Star Wars theme to stick on TW or AOSP rather than try to build a whole new ROM centered round Star Wars
I just googled his name, looks like he makes roms for the sprint gs3.
He made solid roms for the dx.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yeah..I guess the one I'm talking about was mainly a themed ginger bread..that's what i was meaning..

It had some of the droid 2 starwars edition stuff in it .was pretty neat..
