[Q] Help installing Busybox - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a rooted TF300T with .30 stock firmware, and I wish to install Busybox.
How do I do it? There's a Busybox app at play store, but something tells me that it's more to it than just installing a simple app...

Just download busybox installer from the market and run it, it really is that easy.

[Q] Rooting LG P350 nearly finished

Hi Guys,
iam at a point where i cant finish my rooting.
i Installed the GingerBreak 1.2 on my lowbudget LG P350.
I installed the SuperUser App and bought an App "Backup Titanium" wich needs root. The SuperUser app asked for permission for the backup tool, but it still wont work. It says "no root permission" and something with "BusyBox".
Unfortunatly i cant install the BusyBox App = not supported 4 the phone
where can i get the apk of the right BusyBox?

I wanna make an backup before tuning my phone.

ZT-180 Adhoc switcher not working after jcase's 6.2.1 unroot method

Hi,
Thanks for jcase's incredible work - I have an unrooted 6.2.1 now ( hooray!!) . I got the following message when attempting to run the app:
"Error:
At least one of the shell commands needed for this app to work is not available. The first not found command not : awk
A possible solution might be to update Busybox
The app cannot continue "
Close application..
Please advise
I manually updated busybox to version 1.19.3 and it took care of the problem with awk. I verified ZT-180 worked after updating busybox. There are a couple of installers on the market that can do this for you.

ZT-180 Adhoc no root after 6.3.1 rooted
I realize this thread is anciet, but i'm having a similar issue.
So I rooted my Kindle Fire the other day, downloaded some apps and installed SU and Busybox. I have a few apps that have to have root access like Go-Launcher EX, but when I install the ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher it tells me I am not rooted. Is there a fix for this I haven't found in my searches yet? I know the KF is rooted, other apps that have to have root to function work fine.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

[Q] Completely remove busybox?

I need to completely remove busybox from my phone & reinstall. Titanium backup keeps telling me I have busybox 1.8.4 installed. I've used busybox free to uninstall, but it still reports 1.8.4, I used Busybox installer to install a newer version & it fails to install anything but 1.8.4
How can I just completely start over & get a new version of busybox?
I believe I need to manually remove the busybox files & then reinstall, what is a safe way to do this?
Thank you.
You could use this to uninstall it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox.donate&hl=en (click "uninstall").
TB uses busybox from the app itself ( v 1.18.4) . You can choose to use busybox from other sources by selecting it in TB settings.

[Q] Just a quick question about BusyBox

I wanted to try out AdAway on my N5 and therefore had to install BusyBox (Hostfile install didn't work before BusyBox, worked afterwards). But after AdAway did not work and I still had ads, I uninstalled it and then wanted to uninstall BusyBox as well, since I don't have any other app that requires it, as far as I know and I didn't have it installed before AdAway anyways.
Since then I feel that my N5 behaves choppier and more sluggish. Did I do someting wrong? Did the uninstall remove more than I previously installed with the app (installed and uninstalled the BusyBox binary with "BusyBox" by Stericson)? Or am I just paranoid?
My N5 is rooted and unlocked, No custom recovery or ROM installed.

BUMP. I also installed busybox by Stericson for ALSA mixer which is used for call recording. And I am also a bit scared of the busybox:
- Will it prevent OTA updates if I am totally stock (even recovery) with root only
- Why uninstall disclaimer is so fearsome. It is saying that it is possible that all rooted apps will stop working and even ROM can become unstable. Is it true with stock rooted nexus 5?

[Q] Essentials in updating BusyBox...

Good day!
What is the purpose in updating BusyBox?
And what's with the custom version?
Is it really essential to update this for all user or best only for developers and modifiers?
UPDATE:
I asked before I modify this post if the "Auto Update BusyBox" above the BusyBox Pro works without Google Play in my device. I have busybox v1.22.1-stericson installed and found it to be the latest. So I can figure it out on my own soon whenever an update is released.
