Suggestions for "Error mounting /sdcard"?
Rooted my TF101 and have the rogue/cwm recovery installed. I tried a Nandroid backup, but it anything to do with the SD card gives the above error.
I have a microSD in the tablet, too.

Figured it out. Came across a thread I'd missed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138346&highlight=error+mounting+sdcard afterwards, worked like a charm.

Custom Mods of CWM Recovery for HTC Desire S
Here i want to present two custom mods of clockworkmod recovery.
edit: development is very fast... the superhero madmaxx82 merged this features from older mods and rewrites everything from scratch.
please use his recovery. it´s working with unity kernel and has awesome features.
Just have a look on this site: 4EXTRecovery v1.1.1 | STAY @EXT4 | Convert EXT4 without losing data | Advanced Backup
_______________________________________________________
j_r0dd´s modded version:
ATTENTION: May not work together with MDJ´s Unity Kernel. Need confirming that new compiled version is working.
See this post for a test version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14854094&postcount=64
the first ist based on the newest version, which is v4.0.0.5
it is made by xda developer j_r0dd. so it is totaly his work.
i compiled his stuff to get it working for our HTC Desire S.
check out the screenshots from his original post on xda developers.
[MOD][RECOVERY][6.11.11] Clockwork 4.0.0.2 New wipe & confirm menus. For ALL variants
As you can see it has a cleaned up options menu.
features like "wipe all" and all other wipe options like "wipe cache", "wipe data", "wipe system" or "wipe dalivik" are now included in ONE menu not in 3.
j_r0dd changed the "confirm menu" too. he shorten the options to ONE "YES" and ONE "NO"
these little changes safes a lot of time, cause you needn´t klick so much.
please ignore the version number in screenshots... they seem to be a little outdated.

arco68´s modded version:
the second version is made by xda developer arco68. the same like above... he made it, i compiled it for HTC desire s.
you can find the original post here:
[Recovery] ClockworkMod v3.1.0.2 (with offmode charging)
it´s a little bit older but doing his job very well.
i know this mod from my wildfire days and used it for quite a long time.
the bonus features in this version are a "full wipe" option and an "advanced backup"
sounds not much but for me this advanced backup option is the best i ever used.
you can choose which partionions you want to backup.
for me as rom-chef it´s enough to backup system.img and boot.img to cook a rom from that. taht safes me a lot of sdcard space and time.
for you it could manage your data.img backups. e.g. backup data.img and cache.img, wipe your phone, install newest version of saga lbc mod or another rom, restore your data.img and cache.img with "advanced restore" option.
______________________________________________________
you can download older versions on my developer site
Modded Clockworkmod Recovery - LBC Mod Android Dev
______________________________________________________
install-instructions:
download zip package you want or need
put it on the root of your sdcard
rename it to PG88IMG.zip
reboot your phone in bootloader
go into hboot
hboot will check your sdcard for the PG88IMG.zip and ask if you want to flash radio.img
confirm flahing
reboot your phone
rename the PG88IMG.zip back to something else cause if you are in bootloader, hboot will try to flash that file every time when it is named PG88IMG.zip

newbee with roms

I have rooted my nexus s 4g using sdk method, I'm thinking of diving into installing the cm-10 but need instructions. Pardon if by chance I'm in wrong forum, but they wouldn't let me swim in the developer pool yet.
Welcome to the world of flashing
WARNING!! this will delete all your apps and data so use a program like titanium backup to backup all of your apps and data.
1. Make sure you have CWM Recovery installed. (If not, download rom manager from the play store and flash it.
2. Download the rom you wish to install, and put it on the root of your sdcard. Plus the gapps if there are any.
3. Turn your phone off and hold the volume + button and power button at the same time to boot into the bootloader. Navigate using the volume buttons and select recovery using the power button. If you have the touch recovery you can use touch otherwise use volume keys and power button.
4. Go into backup/restore and click backup and scroll down and hit yes. (This makes a NANdroid, which is a backup of your stock rom. If anything goes wrong or stuck in a bootloop or just having problems, you can restore your stock rom using this)
5. Hit wide data/factory reset, wipe cache and then go into advanced and click wipe dalvik cache.
6. Go back and click install from sdcard and then choose from sdcard and then choose the rom you want to install.
7. Reboot and it should take about 5 Mins to reboot. (dont worry, everytime you install a new rom, it will take a little longer than usual)
8. Once rebooted, you will be asked to set up your phone like when you first got it.
Well done you just installed your first rom
Happy flashing.
Read this three times, then do it... this has every step from a new phone, so you may skip a couple steps.

Welcome to the NS4G club...now to down to businesses. If you want the east way just use ROM Manager it currently has a CM10 ROM in burnsa. Make sure on the options before flashing you select all 3. So you have a back up and a clean flash. Have fun

ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) is a replacement recovery option for Android devices.

download :
1. you can download cwm through rom manager. installl rom manager through playstore, then click on the option to flash recovery.

you can go into recovery mode by pressig ( volume up + power button)
To move between the options of the recovery, use the volume up/down buttons to navigate, and power button to select any option.
TO FLASH A ROM/MOD THROUGH RECOVERY:
go to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard> click on the rom of mod you want to flash/install.(remember to clear data,cache,dalvic-- read it below)
TO MAKE A BACKUP AND RESTORE:
The major feature of recovery is to backup your rom, so that if something unusual happens to your device(softbrick), you can go to recovery, and mend it.
Go to backup and restore, click on backup, to create a backup and click on restore to restore the backup image. Backup file takes about 500 mb of space(it varies with devices).
Make sure that your device is 30% charged, before carrying out these operations, as the process may take time.
before flashing a rom, do these wipes
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. advanced > wipe dalvic cache
If you dont do these, you me end up in a bootloop. in other words, your device will not start.
after completion, click on reboot system now.
at last, as you read in every post, i am not responsible for any bricked device.

Nandroid Backup without Recovery

Hello
I have come across a way to make NANDROID back without booting into recovery at all! You can easily make the backup while running your phone and even cooler, you can schedule backups at any time of the day and thus you can experiment all you want with your Xperia L
The credit goes to the developer and this is his thread which has all the details :
ameer1234567890 said:
Nandroid backups are usually performed in recovery mode. This means you would have to turn off your phone and reboot in recovery mode, which wastes a whole lot of time rebooting and a lot more time offline. For me, this has been a killer as I do regular nandroid backups. Having to reboot in recovery and finding missed calls, sms from my wife and friends is totally not accepatable for me. So, I set to develop an online nandroid backup tool, namely Online Nandroid, which can do nandroid backups without switching off my phone.
Today, I am releasing it to public, as it may serve good for some others too. Originally I developed Online Nandroid specifically for Xperia devices, but now I am releasing it for all android devices.
This tool, eventhough called "Online Nandroid", does not upload/save backups to any online/cloud services. Online here means that it does backup while phone is live or still running Android.
The short name onandroid is meant to be pronouced as o-nandroid or o'nandroid and NOT on-android.
Requirements:
1. Rooted android phone
2. A terminal emulator installed on phone
3. Latest version of Busybox
4. A working CWM, TWRP or 4EXT based recovery installed
5. Some patience
Installation:
1. Download and copy zip file to SD card
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Choose install zip from SD card, select zip and flash
4. Reboot
Usage:
1. Open terminal emulator
2. Type su to obtain root
3. Type onandroid
4. Wait and watch

[RECOVERY] Carliv Touch Recovery v3.3 [Kitkat] Alcatel Pop D3

DISCLAIMER:
Rooting your phone and using custom Recoveries and ROM's have risks and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturers. In case of any mishap I am not responsible if you brick/ruin your phone in any way.
Basic computer skills are required and minimal knowledge about the phone and phone utilities also.
Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.
This is a modified full touch version of CWM Recovery 6.0.5.1 from cm-11.0 branch. Use it with CM-11.0 building environment. My main goal was to bring up a light but features rich recovery with touch support. All the other existent touch recoveries (TWRP, PhilZ, Miui) are just too big for the very small recovery partition that we find in most of MTK phones.
It includes more features than original clockworkmod recovery, and despite the fact that was first made for MTK powered phones, it can be used for other phones as well.
