I have noticed that my volume has been dropping every once and while... this is a new issue so I am not sure why... my phone is completely stock... should I warranty it out?
If everything is stock then yeah, try looking into the warranty.
Iam having the same problem with mine ever since I updated mine. It seems like out of know where the volume will just drop for my ringer and the messaging tone. The only thing I can do to get it back to normal is to restart my phone. This actually happens a couple times a day.
Help Please!

I emailed HTC phone repair department but no response as of yet. Since my One X is over its 30 days with At&t I guess this is my only option.

Well after several emails between HTC warranty and being on the phone with them, they would not send me a new One X due to the problems with the volume and text message sizes being software issues. So I figuered I would give ole At&t a try and after being on the phone for about 1 1/2 I got them to send me a replacement One X. I got it and so for so good. I'm not having any of the problems I was before. As I said above the HTC person (DANTY) did happen to say they are working on another release for the text message size always getting getting smaller & also the volume problem. Who knows maybe Gellybean??
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Well the new One X has the same problems as the old. The volume goes really low were you can't hear it and the text size get small as previous unit.

I've been having the same issue with the volume on my One X. Hoping a software update will fix this problem.

I started a thread for the same problem. Obviously if we all are having problems with the volume, it must be a software issue. I did not want to take a chance of a replacement and have more issues other than volume. I will wait and see. In the mean time a restart fixes it..

Same here. I'll get notifications fine all day, then I'll get three texts from one person without a single notification. It doesn't matter if the Messaging app is loaded or not or has focus or not.
It is on, its just with a few messages here and there

I have this same issue.
Its an issue that hopefully will get fixed with an update. It has happened to me a bunch of times.
ditto that, hopefully with the next software update will fix it. But, at the same time some people having issue with the update (1.85) that should rolling out today by ATT experience dropping calls and less reception. Personally i prefer late notification than drop calls. Dont you think?
Agreed

Known issue. I've added the messaging widget to my home screen to make sure I don't miss anything.

I had all notifications to vibrate in the SOUNDS menu but SMS still didn't vibrate. Didn't think to look under the menu under the SMS screens. Thank You!
Anyone's vibrate feedback almost unnoticeable? Swapped my device because of connection issues (and update to 1.85 OOPS) and the vibrate feedback on this new one sucks. Pressing the home/back/multi task keys disappoints me every time. I know it's early in the dev phase but does anyone know a mod that can fix this? (Longer vibrate for feedback)
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
No mods yet as far as I know. I know go sms let's you change the vibrate frequency, length and pattern. Other then that, might be SOL. I never thought mine was very strong to begin with. I have since turned it off to save battery. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's worth it. I think lol.

Hey guys! Tonight I just noticed that my external loud speaker sounds really weak and low. I have it turned all the way up and its low.. I know my battery life is in the yellow with 21% left. Does the phone lower the volume when battery gets to a certain point? This phone has been flawless. Now I'm afraid it has a problem

I think the obvious thing to do here would be to charge your phone and see if it goes back to normal. Agreed?

Agreed. Lol. But I just did a google search and found several people complaining about the same thing. They said the phone was working and loud speaker was fine. After a few weeks the speaker was really low.. They restarted the phone, and it was loud again. But after a few days went back to being low. Maybe software issue?

It's possible. I haven't noticed anything like that with mine but then again I don't use the loudspeaker that often. I'll have to pay attention to it now.

I just charged it thus mm ironing and rebooted it. Same problem. I would like to avoid a factory reset. I went through 3 different phones within a month. Not the One x. This is my first. They're going to think I'm crazy for walking into att and tell them there is a problem with this phone now. I see the same people all the time.

Hello,
Only the loud speaker is affected? Headphones work fine?
Do all types of sound have the volume problem, Calls, Videos, youtube, Music? Does your ring tone come out at full volume?
Do you use google nav or any other similar app that outputs commands and such through the loud speaker? I ask because I read somewhere (maybe here on xda) that people were thinking it was maybe due to such apps.

Hopefully it's just a software issue. This phone is flawless. I don't want to take a chance and return it for one that has more problems..

Ok so today I found out that the volume does not change with the last 3 or 4 pushes of the volume up button, it does not increase. Nor the same for lowering. It's like its stuck at 60% volume. What do I do..? Return it for a replacement or stick with it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I have the same problem, only noticed it the other day when I decided to play some music the volume was really low on the external speaker so I decided to make a phone call and the volume seemed low in both the earpiece and external speaker so out of dumb luck I decided to restart the phone. Volume got louder in both but eventually got lower again after a few days. Also, noticed that the external volume doesn't seem to change with the last 2-3 clicks up or down.
Hoping this is a software issue since otherwise it works great, don't really want to return it and possibly get one with other issues.

This is the exact same problem I am having now.. I too noticed that the ear volume is low as well. I did restart the phone. It worked good for a day. Then same thing. I too am like you. Hopefully there is a software fix for it. I called at&t. They said That HTC handles the tech support for the HOX. Maybe you should call them too and complain. If they hear it from someone else, it might be good.

I did talk to HTC Tech Support and was told there's NO Issue with the volume on the device and was given a number for Repair which I haven't called yet.
And yes, it's last about a day then it gets lower.
it has to be a software issue, im experiancing the same thing. got a replacement today because of it, and when i was in calls it sounded like i was in a tunnel? no case on the phone.

My first one x was a ht24 model that came with 1.73(I think that was the version correct me if I'm wrong) and had the same issues after about a month. My replacement is a ht23 with 1.85... I haven't noticed the issue with this phone but will look into it now and see if this one has it.

I've noticed a very similar issue with my One X. I keep my phone at full volume and every once and a while the volume from the back speaker gets a bit quieter. Nothing seems to fix it, except for rebooting the phone.
Is it normal for the ATT hox to make a clicking noise when you press capacitive buttons or when typing? Does anyone else notice this? Its like a small clicking noise every 2 or 3 presses. I was just wondering if this was normal because my hox has no other problems. I have exchanged mine 4 times and don't want to do it again.
Normal-ish. Mine does it from time to time, and others' do also. Mostly when speed typing for me. Doesn't bother me. Or my phone, apparently.

I have noticed this every once in a while. It doesn't bother me much but it worried me in the beginning. I really notice it when pressing on the right side of the screen like when I am pressing the letter M. I don't think it is too much to worry about seeing as how many people have noticed it.
What do you guys think it might be caused by?
Maybe it can be fixed by a software update?
It does this to me sometimes. I noticed it before buy haven't noticed a lot lately. You can check if it's the case or screen

I've looked around here and haven't seen an issue similar to what's going on with mine.
It's happened a few times now, where the phone just randomly starts to vibrate, for ~5 seconds. No notifications, not even touching the phone. It just randomly vibrates. My last One X I swapped out on Friday due to some sound issues, that one never did this strange vibrate. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time it's done this in just as many days.
Has anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I still find it weird that my first one didn't do that in the two weeks or so that I had it. Maybe I'll try exchanging it a second time and get lucky with a 1.85

Yeah mine has done it several times too haha, usually when I press the back button. I thought it could be an issue with my phone because it has a really weak vibrate when I press the buttons, but since I didn't notice it on
4.0.3 I'll go with 4.0.4 glitch..

If your under 30 days, on 2.20 locked i would make them exchange for older firmware device or your going to return it and go elsewhere to get one with the less buggy 1.85 firmware. If u want to unlock, why wouldnt you.
