Multitouch issue - Fixed (temporary) - LG Optimus 3D

To any of the developers,
The optimus 3d and the LG Thrill has a multitouch bug described in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448777) By luck i was able to find a tempoary way of fixing this issue.
If i turn off my phone and then turn it on and then run the multitouch tester i will get the issue described in the post. However if i turn it off and then turn it on and then move my finger from the left of the screen to the right of the screen 3 times(on the homescreen) and then I run the multitouch tester the issue is gone and the touch screen works perfect afterwards. Its a very weird bug. can someone confirm this on their phone also. If a programmer can develop an app that imitates 3 swipes when the phone unlocks then this annoyance is fixed.

Working.
This has been annoying me for so long.

Moving this to general, as this is not a mod, just a link to one.

Tried the tester i do not have this bug i got 10 touches

[Q]Touchscreen sometimes stops working

I have a T-Mobile myTouch 4g Slide and The touchscreen sometimes doesn't work, I've noticed it happens more often when my battery is low and that it'll be working fine but when I use the phyical keyboard it won't work after that until I charge it up and restart it many times. There is a crack on the front so would replacing the digitalizer fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
I wouldn't think replacing the digitizer would help being it stops working intermittently otherwise it wouldn't work all the time. If it only does it when the battery is low then check your settings to see what is turned off if you have a battery saver mode. Easiest thing to do in my opinion is wipe the phone. That usually fixes this (I have even seen it fix physical buttons not working as well)

I have the same problem here. I usually have to turn the screen off to get it working again.

My entire screen never stops working, but sometimes when I'm touch typing, certain keys will refuse to register.
I don't know if that's a problem with my screen, or a problem with the keyboard app I use (Swiftkey X)

Keyboard?
Wanting to buy a MTG4 slide for my wife. Does the phone have an on screen virtual keyboard along with the actual slide keyboard?:

Screen gets dead spots

Anyone had dead spots on their HOS?
On two different occasions, the screen stops working directly above the Homebutton and a reboot solves the problem..
But since it happened 2 time now, is my digitizer damaged or something?
Similar problem
I seem to have a similar problem where I get random dead spots on the screen. The problem happens more frequently with me with AOSP ROMs. Also, turning the screen on and off usually fixes it for me. I may have a bad digitizer, I'm not sure though.
I've had the same issue couple of times a while back.
edit
can't remember, but it might've been while using cm10 (only had it on for a few days).
Try downloading dead pixel fix from market it is really good fixing dead pixel
Download run the app and leave or phone for at least 6 hour with app running at maximum brightness
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Sorry, I didn't mean dead pixels, I meant the touch gets dead..something with the digitizer...
Dude I had a post about this before like i have to turn my screen off a lot cause it won't register my space bars during a text or the letter t and its really annoying but turning the screen off and on fixes it
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
I been having a similar issue usually made the center of the screen around the t y u Button's on the keyboard.
Started roughly after running cm10 might be a coincidence though

Try wiping off the screen and turning the phone off and on.
The first might help if it's a humidity issue, the 2nd might help if it's a grounding or static issue.
I don't have these issues but is it related to this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679649
Touch Button Issue HTC One S
It's pretty much the opposite of that issue to the point where il be trying to get in the menu and my touch on the menu key doesn't do anything till I turn my screen off and on cause the bottom part of the screen is unresponsive... And I'm on stock no root

This!! I always have to do this once in awhile.
This only happens in aosp roms (dont know yed on aokp). It used to happen to me sometimes on cm10 but now I´ve been for a while on sense roms and didn´t happen anytime.
i agree with the above, ive only had this issue on cm10
I run into the same problem sometimes. It's most noticeable when using the keyboard but I've had it happen on another part of the screen. Like others have said turning off the screen then turning it back on always worked to fix it.
I was having this issue in CM9... Once I reverted back to Trickdroid 7.1, this issue no longer happens. So it sounds to me like it's related to the driver in CM9... I suspect that if I switch to CM10, the issue will still be there.

[Q] Jelly Time random black screen

Ok so, since I am new to actually USING XDA. It wont let me post into that thread to ask this question, even though I have searched it up and down for answers. I do understand that the OP(randomblame) says that there is a black screen issue after unlocking the device. I don't have that issue. What I DO have is very odd and not mentioned. On specific apps, the screen will go blank to just a backlight if I click on something. For example, in the phone app I can dial the number and everything is fine, as soon as I hit the call button, screen goes blank backlight. Same thing happens when watching video on youtube app, or hitting the search button. I always have to lock it, then unlock it to get my screen back. This is especially a problem when someone is calling, no screen.
Very wordy yes, if you need me to clarify I'd be happy to. Thanks for any help
I read somewhere that this happens even on the cm10 version and no fix or direct cause has been found yet.

I had the same issues. Used beta 13 with no problems but tried the release version 5 and 7. Still had black screen. Tried 7.2 and so far it will do it but not as much.

That actually sounds more like a separate known backlight bug, one where the screen goes off on system sounds. The devs know about it and are working on it. All JB Ace ROMs have it to some degree. A workaround to make it happen less is to turn off all system sounds in Settings -> Sounds.
After using jelly time 7.2 for half a day black screen bug came back. Now I am back to beta 13.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I believe I might have found a work around for the black screen. It has something to do with the system theme. If you go download any theme and apply it, no more random black screen in any app! This solved the problem for me, I encourage anyone else to test my theory.
He just put out R8 too which fixed both screen issues and camera. Just FYI.

Red light of the proximity sensor remain active

Hi there!!
I don't know if this is a know thing anyway, on the right of the HTC logo there is the proximity sensor that shut down the display during a call. When it's on a you can see a red light from it. It should be turned on only during call. In the last days I have noted that the light remain always on even if I'm not doing a call. It turns off only if I taskiller all the process, but this stand only for 40 second as after this period of time the light reactivate itself again ( probably because some proces automatically restarts ) what can I do?? Is there somebody else who he's experiencing this too??

Do you have any apps for brightness management? I've experienced the same before and it was due to such app.
no..I use no app for that...
Have you tried to make another phone call and see if it switches off after hang up? Maybe in the last call it hasn't switched off for whatever reason/bug.
I noticed this, but after some digging I found out that Viber is causing this:

Good to see you've found the cause.
I also noticed this behaviour if you made a call and switched staight to loudspeaker without putting the phone to your ear. When the call was finished the sensor would remain active requiring a reboot of the phone to turn it off.
Seems to have been fixed with the 4.0.4 update
Same thing happened to me, except I don't have viber. Reboot fixed it.

I don't have viber and even after reboot, wipe cache/dalvic it still glows. HTC One S with Axiom ROM. this just started in the last week. I haven't downloaded any new apps though several have updated but I couldn't tell you which ones now. Trying to disable everything I can think of that would use the proximity sensor to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
This happens to me whenever I'm using bluetooth, but what works for me is this:
Download "Proximity Sensor Finder" from the play store, open it up and wave your hand over the proximity sensor. Close the program and the red light goes away. It's faster that doing a reboot. This works for me and hopefully it works for others as well.
My problem was related with a bug inside viber, the app has been updated and the sensor start working good again

This is what I used and haven't had a problem since.
you could also try to install taskiller and kill everything, if the sensor stop being on it's related to a process that keep it active if not it's probably and hardware issue
Since we're talking about the proximity sensor, it shouldn't stay on during a call when the screen is manually turned off. On the Galaxy Note II the sensor turns off.

Having your vibration setting activated caused the proximity light to stay on.

Touch screen not work with right bottom conner

I dont know why but today i use quick memo and realize that have a small square at right bottom conner cant be touched. I clean my screen, remove the screen protector but the problem didnt solved.
It is the bug off ics xbsall v7 or my touch screen is bad? Could any one have a test please?

would assume your touchscreen is broken. i had the same issue some time ago and the only way to fix it was to have it repaired at lg.

I have faced this problem some time ago with another phone. I just replace screen protector and have a cleaning the screen surface to solve problem. But this time with our fuc...king phone I have no luck. :crying: In my place it take about 100usd to replace the touch screen with the new one. :crying:
I realize that my dead screen touch conner will work well if i hold a finger on some where on the screen and have another finger touch to the dead conner. So with this test i can surely that the hard ware still work. May be the problem is the ics driver. Im on xbsall ics v7.2

Go to settings , developer options and select show touches , then slide towards the section of the touchscreen that doesn't work and see if you see the lines going over that spot.
If not , flash a different ROM then try again.
If it's still not working , then your touchscreen is probably broken.
You can buy replacements off eBay for 19 dollars , free shipping.

Ive already use the developer options to see the spot line off my touch on the screen. I mean that with only one finger touch on screen so the dead corner didnt realize my touch. But if I keep one finger on screen and another finger make a touch to the dead corner and The dead corner touch is working (with dual touch the dead corner become working but singer touch).

2) uninstaling dx toolbox which i placed its shortcut on toolbal

i made a dual touch and the hard ware is working very good.
like i sade i managed to fix it by enabling the some google apps that i had disabled for battery improvment.
i think you can fix your lg phone by offline updating with KDZ version.not custom roms.
i think your problem is software related not hardware as long as your hard ware is working.
well this is my opinion i hope your phone will be fixed
