Silent Camera Timer? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Looking for a Camera App that has a silent, or at least *quiet* timer. Shudder sound is fine. Camera ZOOM is loud and obnoxious. Pudding Camera doesn't do highest resolution. Some other simple app was even louder and more obnoxious then Camera ZOOM.
Take alot of pictures at the office and timer helps, but can't find a good one.
Thanks.

[Q] Camera tick sound?

Does anyone of your NS make 'tick' sound? For example, when I capture a QR code, it makes very brief 'tick' sound. It's not the camera shutter sound. I can tell the difference...
I think there were few more instances where my NS makes tick sound but I can't recall.
it is app related, the barcodescanner makes an other sound than the camera app

I use Google Goggles. Would it be the same reason?
I think I had an instance with Google Camera app too. I can't recall though.
I honestly thought my camera didn't make such noise until few days back. I had this phone for more than 3 months now..
I've heard my Nexus S 'tick' after using Google Goggles but it doesn't happen all the time. Used to get it with my old SGS, too.
Only happens with Google Goggles though so its probably app related.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
This tick sound is the mechanical focus mechanism of the camera lense. It continuously focuses from macro to infinity to reset in one short moment.
As hardly any application focuses repeatedly, except for let's say barcode readers, you won't hear that ticking in the standard camera app.
In a couple of days since buying my NS (9023) I noticed this click noise coming from the camera and quickly discovered it was from the camera's macro-to-infinity focus switch mechanism. The thing I would like to know if this happens to everybody else or is my NS "special" in some nasty way.
Also, sometimes after taking a macro pic the camera app gets stuck on displaying the picture taken without going back to the live-view camera screen to take the next picture. The only solution out of this is pressing the home button which makes the same clicking noise as above but louder. This makes me think that the macro switch mechanism inside the camera hardware gets stuck somehow.
Should I send it to be repaired? :-|

stock video camera vs lgcamcorder on Note

I've been trying to get better performance out of the stock video camera and here are my observations.
Stock video camera
Pretty good at default settings but cannot seem to set focus point manually
Cannot do macro video because of this
Very smooth recording, no dropped frames
Lgcamcorder
Video looks brighter than stock camera
Can set focus point by touching a point on the screen
Problem is the focus hunting doesn't stop, it focuses nice and sharp, and then drops the focus and keeps repeating this cycle endlessly.
Jerky, seems to halt for 2 seconds every so often
Does anyone know if the stock video camera can do macro video at all? How do we get it to work?
I had problems with LGCAMERA for my past phones. Though it has many options, there were times after having recorded a video, it would just not save the file and I was very frustrated by this as I lost some important videos!
yes, it looks good, but the focus hunting just never stops! Anyone had any luck with it?
I use lgcamera and set the focus mode to macro and have no problems with focus hunting.

Remote shutter control.

I want to use a selfie stick but can't find one that controls the shutter.

Set a 10s timer (2s is too short, that is used just to avoid handshake on long exposures) and frame in that time until the shutter takes the pic. Nevertheless, I commend you to not use a selfie stick... It's a little silly, plus the 1020 doesn't have a good front facing camera.
Best,
Sebas

Video recording has no audio or sound.

As the title says my Vivo nex S doesn't seem to record any sound.
The only option for sound is in photos not video which is odd, tried enabling and disabling to no effect.
Sound on selfie camera and music etc works fine just not for video recording .
Any idea ?
The sound setting in camera is for disabling camera sound when taking a picture. If you don't want to alert someone you took a picture of them, disable the sound setting.
Open up recorder app and see if you can record sound.

Photo app: No sound on focus

Hello everyone. I've noticed, that the sound on focus in the photo pro app disappeared - however I still have sound on shutter. I've tried phone restart, application update uninstall, installing new update, but problem is still there. Anybody knows how to fix it?
Disclaimer: I'm hard of hearing. I do hear the shutter click. I've never heard a sound on focus. The color of the focus area changes. The default is white and I have mine set to red. There is no setting in the menu for focus sound.

I am 100% there was a slight "beep" sound on focus (or when you pressed shutter button on its 1st position).
