Have you tried a custom ROM, like CM7 or CM9, or any other developer? I am currently on CM9 and liking it!
Check out:

yeah you should try some custom roms like Cm9, SlimIcs, Team Nyx (I use and Love it) and so on, stock upgrades aren't that good after all and these are already android 4.0 while stock updates only get you to 2.3
But you really should read b4 starting to flash custom roms cuz if dont know how to do it right you could brick your phone for good, it is not difficult though

Hi, can somebody tell me where can I find a Stock KERNEL for Gingerbread 2.3.5 for a Samsung Galaxy R i9103?
I need to set my phone to completly original settings. So I've already downgraded it from ICS to Gingerbread 2.3.5 Stock ROM by the use of an infected GB Kernel which I found here in the forum. I though the Stock ROM would overwrite the infected Kernel to the original one but it didn't happend. And I just can't find an original stock kernel for my phone. Can somebody help me please?
Look here. If you can't find it, then ask them, they have the Galaxy R.

kernal 3.0.31-980103 [email protected] #3
anyways Im trying to find a ROM for my phone. I see that the Galaxy 2 -I1900 is the main galaxy 2 ROM. Can i use those ROMs for my phone or would that cause issues? and is there any ROM out there for my phone? or would i have to manually unbloat my phone?

You can use custom roms for "Samsung Epic 4G Touch" found on XDA.
